Ugly scratched his nails, no longer paying attention to the trio of brothers surrounding him. 0

"Didn't I tell you before? Know your limits." 0

"Hmph, Ugly, let me show you the techniques we've honed for hunting giant bears," the eldest brother declared. 0

The eldest was named Wu Tong, the younger one was Wu Xin, and the youngest, who had a somewhat kind-hearted nature, was Wu Hua. The youngest brother had been brought in by his two older siblings to help out voluntarily. The trio had grown up in the mountains, surrounded by hills, where the locals relied on the mountains and a river called Zhen Shan He for their livelihood. They were well-known hunters in the area, living off what the land provided. 0

The Long-Haired Wild Boar, Bactrian Camel, and Dru Bear were notorious pests in their village. Farmers struggled to raise livestock that often fell victim to the Dru Bear's attacks. Without any enemies to interfere, an adult Demon Bear could give birth to seven or eight cubs at a time, reproducing at an astonishing rate. Due to their omnivorous nature, bears would sometimes descend from the mountains and roam among humans, posing a threat. 0

Compared to the Long-Haired Wild Boar and Bactrian Camel that destroyed crops, the damage caused by these Demon Bears was far more significant. Yet, the fur and bones of the Dru Bear were highly valuable; they were used in medicine and for warmth, while its meat was more flavorful than that of domestic livestock and could fetch a high price in some cities. 0

Because of this characteristic of bears, most men in the village learned to hunt in groups. They set traps and used years of accumulated experience to deliberately drive prey into their carefully laid snares. 0

"Surround him!" Wu Tong shouted when he noticed Ugly not paying attention. His temper flared as he yelled out loud enough to startle his younger brothers. Even Wu Hua, despite wanting to avoid confrontation, instinctively took a defensive stance. 0

"Ha! Now all your escape routes are under our control. You have nowhere to run; just accept your fate as our dog!" Wu Xin laughed triumphantly as the trio formed a right-angled triangle around Ugly, exploiting his moment of unpreparedness. 0

"This kind of defense is laughable; I'm an artist!" Ugly smirked, still not shifting his gaze towards the three brothers. 0

Before long, they began to apply pressure one after another, throwing punches that landed with a whoosh. Strangely enough, after continuous strikes, it felt as if they were hitting soft jelly instead of flesh. Ugly continued to scratch at his nails while his eyes glimmered with light, as if the blows had nothing to do with him. 0

"Bastard! Do you look down on me? I command you to look at me!" Wu Tong shouted again, his voice shaking the very stones beneath them. 0

"Hmph, is it necessary? You've already fallen for it." 0

The ugly voice floated in and out, blending into the surrounding environment. At this moment, the trio appeared disheveled; Wu Tong and Wu Xin's eyes gradually lost focus, and slowly, their consciousness began to blur. They knelt down as if paying homage to a king. 0

Wu Hua slapped his cheeks, trying hard to stay awake. He shouted, "Big Brother, Second Brother, are you okay? Why am I still conscious?" 0

"Oh? It seems there's still someone among you who has some use?" 0

Wu Hua strained to look around but could only sense the incredible speed of the figure opposite him. Then, he instinctively shrank his neck, suddenly feeling a part of a body brush against him. 0

He wanted to turn back instinctively when a chilling voice came from the other side: "Just now, I could have killed you, but I didn't want to. If you think you're useless, then you need to throw punches like mine." 0

As soon as the words were spoken, while Wu Hua was still in shock and hesitation, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his back. The sound of claws striking was like a swift and fierce wind; his clothes were nearly torn apart in an instant. 0

"Ugh~" 0

Wu Hua was sent flying several meters away, crashing into the ground like a giant rock with a thunderous sound. The last glimmer of light he saw was a blurred figure slowly approaching and squatting down in front of him. After letting out a cry of pain that felt like it would break him, his head drooped, and he lost consciousness. 0

The ugly figure grabbed Wu Hua's face and squeezed it lightly, chuckling, "Kid, you're quite stubborn and unwilling to admit defeat. Hmph, then come back stronger next time and fight me. I'll be waiting for you." 0

After easily defeating the trio of brothers, Atate whistled sharply. A group of men in black rushed out from the side of the road, roughly lifting the three onto stretchers before quickly disappearing from everyone's sight. 0

As the ugly figure finished dealing with the Wu brothers, on another side of Ding Group, two others were locked in a tense stare. 0

Xiong Tai exuded an aura of fearless heroism as if facing a formidable enemy. Freyr knew that Xiong Tai would not be his match; he turned away completely, hands clasped behind his back, no longer glancing at him from the corner of his eye. 0

“Xiong Tai, you know the gap between us is already quite obvious. Just step back. Once I establish the Hunter Team, you'll be the first person I bring into my squad.” 0

Freyr truly had this thought in mind. Xiong Tai was his college classmate, and they had spent quite some time together, their mutual understanding far better than that of unfamiliar new teammates. 0

Now, he simply couldn't bring himself to trust someone, even if other newcomers joined the team. Handling interpersonal relationships and bridging gaps was primarily the responsibility of the captain, who had to play both the nurturing mother and the stern father to foster camaraderie among team members. 0

“Pfft, joining a weaker team isn't so bad either. Maybe I could even become Commander. Freyr, you should just step back. You'll have another chance next year anyway. I prefer working alone; that's my decision. Food and principles—if anyone crosses those lines, not even my parents could forgive them.” Xiong Tai crossed his arms, exuding a strong sense of masculinity. 0

“Are you suggesting we have a showdown?” Freyr replied with a puzzled expression, his face turning serious as he responded calmly. 0

Why would two good friends fight over something so trivial? Was this what they called vanity? Whether one became the leader or not was essentially the same. It was just his imagination, but he also wasn't keen on being manipulated by others, as if someone else controlled his fate. 0

Xiong Tai's personality likely didn't lean towards being dependent on others. Although he often appeared clueless and easy to control, he actually lived with a mindset of trying whatever he wanted to do. 0

This very trait made him seem like someone without ulterior motives or malice. People often revealed their true selves around familiar faces, willing to expose their vulnerabilities and trust wholeheartedly. In contrast, with strangers, they would mask their thoughts and feelings entirely. 0

Xiong Tai said seriously, “I don't think our abilities differ that much.” 0

“Tch, so annoying. Bring it on,” Freyr spat out, his face suddenly serious. 0
