It was not snow-covered ground, yet the cars arriving along the white expanse came to a stop without leaving a single tire mark on the surface. 0

Stepping onto the soft, loose ground, it was evident that the entire city was enveloped in a massive cocoon-like structure formed from White Silk Thread after being contaminated. 0

This enormous cocoon lay right beneath their feet, its size comparable to that of an entire city. If it were to solidify and hatch, it would sweep away all nearby food and soil. 0

The areas traversed by insects typically left no trace of tender plant shoots or roots behind. 0

As they moved further away from the city’s border, they maneuvered the vehicle until the white expanse faded from view. Only then did Medusa feel reassured enough to park on the barren land. 0

“Get out!” 0

“You have one minute! Hurry up~~~” 0

Medusa shouted impatiently into the communicator aboard the vehicle. The Egg System was voice-activated; once Medusa’s specific tone triggered it, the base of the Egg System clicked open. From within the soft, jelly-like structure of the Egg System, pairs of hands emerged, desperately clawing at the surrounding softness as they escaped from their long-time confinement. 0

The Egg System was remarkably secure; even amidst external disasters that nearly flipped the vehicle, those inside remained unaffected. They could stimulate their minds with sleep waves and awaken at designated times. 0

Medusa’s specific tonal command forcibly roused the hunters from their slumber. 0

“Hurry up!” 0

Accompanied by urgent shouts, many figures gradually appeared beside the rear compartment. 0

“What is this place?” Freyr was the last to emerge from the back of the vehicle, jumping down with a start. 0

“Wow!” At that moment, surprised voices erupted around them. The keen-eyed hunters quickly noticed their awkward situation, but simultaneously, astonishment spread like wildfire. Freyr also began to grasp what was happening; however, upon seeing the entire snow-white city, he did not display much surprise. 0

"Everyone, look! I've never seen such a large snowball before," exclaimed one of the hunters. 0

"Um, that doesn't seem right. That's not snow," came the growing murmur of doubt among the hunters. 0

Indeed, it was not snow. Snow would have made the surrounding temperature chilly, but this was silk. Without needing to think too much, the hunters quickly realized that this snow-like covering was actually an entire expanse of silk. Where there was silk, there would be insects, and it was very likely that there were many cocoons as well. 0

"Alright, this is not silk; an entire city could very well be a massive insect nest." A cold and unfamiliar voice cut through the chatter of the crowd. 0

"From what I know, the Zerg breeds rapidly. A single female can produce 8 to 10 cocoons at once, and many insects are born with reproductive capabilities. At this rate, it won't be long before this area becomes a barren wasteland with no food to harvest, and it might even affect humanity's Noah's Sanctuary." 0

No one recognized the person dressed in bizarre attire, who appeared emaciated and frail, often coughing during his weak moments. This individual had only one eye; a large scar covered the other eye behind glasses. He wore a black eye patch over the scarred area, giving him an air of intimidating resolve. 0

A young hunter who looked like a leader straightened his chest and asked, "You seem to know a lot. What should we do next?" 0

The One-Eyed Man shook his head and sighed softly into the wind. He turned to light a cigar, taking a deep puff as he prepared for something when Medusa sharply interrupted him with a stern voice, "Good. You don't need to concern yourself here; follow my orders now." 0

"I didn't intend to meddle," Good replied lightly, "but these young ones know nothing and will end up dead." With a slight shake of his head, his solitary figure faded away into the distance along with his mournful sigh. 0

As the strange figure walked away, everyone collected themselves and returned to focus. Freyr quickly made eye contact with other team leaders to introduce themselves briefly. Although his Hunter Team was still in its early stages, he could gain valuable experience from this rare mission alongside several Hunter Team leaders who could assist in future collaborative tasks. 0

Everyone seemed to wear harmonious expressions, but among them was a cold-looking man who caught Freyr's attention. After watching him for a while, that man suddenly fixed him with a piercing gaze, causing goosebumps to rise all over Freyr's body. 0

The man's fierce aura was evident, yet he seemed to harbor little hostility; he merely stood there idly staring off into another direction. 0

After some time, several officers arrived on the scene. They appeared quite amicable and briefly introduced themselves while explaining the situation regarding Giant Pass. 0

Giant Pass was a border outpost located near humanity's last line of defense. It was only about a hundred kilometers away from their sanctuary. 0

The borders were surrounded by towering Mecha launch platforms, guarded by the formidable Mecha Unit. Among the Mecha Units, the most renowned were the Ace Mecha Masters cultivated by the Mecha Association. Ordinary Mecha Masters underwent professional training, allowing them to adapt to low-altitude flight, maneuvering, and combat exercises. The elite mechs from the Mecha Association could even pilot the Unit Zero, which broke through the Sonic Barrier for combat. 0

Unit Zero was the oldest model, still plagued by significant flaws. Its payload capacity was minimal; after launching eight Sparrow Missiles at full power, it would be rendered completely incapable of combat. 0

However, in the present context, Unit Zero was considered one of the most capable and tactically integrated combat mechs. Compared to those clumsy machines that rivaled tanks and armored vehicles, this mech had far fewer durability issues and limitations. 0

After more than twenty years of development, new laser weapons were set to replace the shortcomings in attack payload capacity. 0

Although Freyr was also born a Mecha Master, he had never heard of such rumors regarding the Mecha Association. It was possible that he had forgotten some events or circumstances along the way. Back then, brainwashing techniques for soldiers had already been invented; perhaps the Mecha Association only needed elite individuals or humans with monstrous abilities endowed with bugs. 0

Now, Freyr was a professional hunter under the Hunter Association. His abilities were no less than his once omnipotent self; as long as he was willing to work hard, he believed he would become even stronger than before. 0

The footsteps of the Hunters began to move as many arrived at a pre-arranged tent. This was a basic military-style tent where numerous soldiers stood in watchtowers, gazing into the distance. From that massive Gatling Gun, one could still catch a whiff of gunpowder; it seemed that it had been used not long ago. 0

Soon, they were ushered into the largest tent, the Command Tent. This was the biggest and most prominent gathering place for all tents, serving as the meeting location for officers. However, only team leaders who had participated in team-building activities were invited inside. Eleven individuals followed Medusa into the Command Tent. 0

The space inside the Command Tent was vast, already filled with many people. The most noticeable figure sitting at the front was the Commander, flanked by officers from various units. The hunters entering through the door could only find seats in a corner. 0

"We have arrived," said Medusa with a somewhat cold tone. Those seated nearby quickly turned their heads to look. The Commander's expression stiffened for a moment before he burst into hearty laughter, signaling his subordinates to move positions and make room at the front row, gesturing for them to sit closer. 0
