"Sound?" 0

Russell suddenly recalled the events that transpired after leaving the factory. 0

At that time, it seemed he had called Freyr away, which led Freyr to disengage his senses and continue observing the surroundings, resulting in the situation escalating to this point, for which he bore part of the responsibility. 0

He could hear the cries of a baby, reminiscent of the strange monsters encountered in the factory. 0

These creatures did not emit similar sounds, but it was also possible that some of these monsters had escaped the inferno. 0

As for that great fire, it was known that no living being could survive temperatures nearing a thousand degrees. Even among the Zerg, the top five most dangerous insects would have little chance of survival. 0

Yet somehow, such a situation had occurred. It was unclear what kind of creature had ambushed two well-equipped Search Teams. 0

It should be noted that the humans in the Search Team were elites from various units, equipped with Special Forces gear. All members were experts in Gene Lock of Linjie. Even if they encountered equally well-equipped hunters or swarms of insects, it was impossible for them to be completely wiped out without any valuable intelligence being relayed back. This was simply too strange. 0

"This is odd. We need to determine what kind of monster this is and whether it's similar to those we encountered. I remember, Anis, you backed up the data. Do you still have that information? Did you send it to the Military Department?" Russell asked as he led the team into an empty conference room, gently closing the door behind him. 0

Anis nodded and pulled out a USB drive from his pocket, quickly operating the keyboard with familiarity. 0

Before long, a segment of very blurry footage appeared on the computer's Virtual Screen. It showed a dark and unfamiliar corridor; due to being filmed with a handheld camera, the images were quite unclear and somewhat fuzzy. 0

Soon after, the footage transitioned to a much clearer segment. The screen displayed some irrelevant chatter, lacking any significant content, so Anis quickly dragged the footage forward. In the depths of that corridor, several green shadows flickered slightly. 0

As they watched these images, those sitting on the floor in a daze took a sharp breath; it turned out they were startled by the appearance of these monsters. 0

Rather than resembling a human, it was somewhat forced; its bizarre postures varied greatly. Some stood upright like monkeys, while others coiled together like snakes, climbing along the edges of the wall's crevices. A pair of purple, cold eyes emanated a strong sense of menace. 0

The upper body had a human face, but the lower half exhibited the physiological traits of Crawling Creatures. 0

Such a monster could hardly be anything but terrifying. However, at that moment, their singular focus was on extermination, leaving no time to observe closely. 0

Soon, countless strange thoughts began to rapidly bloom in the dark passage, exploding like a High-Explosive Bomb. The entire corridor seemed to erupt, shrouded in smoke. 0

In just over ten minutes, there were no longer any monsters with complete bodies in sight. 0

"Uh," Anis quickly turned off the Virtual Screen and said, "That's all there is. I haven't had the chance to share the video I recorded with the Military Department yet. I've enhanced the video for maximum clarity; if you want to see the original blurry footage, you'll likely only catch glimpses of indistinct shadows." 0

After watching the video, Russell lowered his head in thought, remaining silent. He wasn't alone; others wore similar expressions. 0

"Cough, let me express my stance. This creature isn't a deformity; it's an entirely new species—if it can even be classified as a species. For now, let's describe it as a higher-level organism. It shows a clear impulse towards flesh and blood. I noticed this unless they possess rapid recovery abilities to withstand Scorching pain. Once they get far enough away, they might drag their injured bodies out of the flames in search of new prey," Anis said, unable to bear the oppressive atmosphere any longer. 0

Freyr shook his head vigorously, rejecting Anis's assessment. "If it crawled out of the fire, its injuries would be severe. But what I heard at that time was more like a broken, trembling sound—there was clearly something off about it." 0

Anis scoffed and continued, "You must have misheard. The video already highlighted the problem; perhaps we missed one that escaped. That type of creature moves stealthily and unnoticed. We were all on high alert then, so we should have been able to spot those freaks immediately." 0

"Can we watch it again?" Freyr asked. 0

"Watch it again?" Anis was somewhat surprised. The video was blurred into shadows; even with keen eyesight, watching such footage could be uncomfortable. Even enthusiasts who loved studying videos would find similar blurry recordings quite awkward. 0

"Watching it again wouldn't change anything." 0

"Slow down, double the speed reduction. We can cut out those scenes in front; what we need to see is from the moment we encounter the monster until the end. That's where the main part begins." 0

"By slowing down the footage, we can catch some details that are missed at normal speed." 0

"Come on, double slow it down. Everyone seems to be in good spirits anyway; let's take a look," Russell said with a smile, appearing quite reasonable. 0

"It's not that I can't," Anis scratched his head and replied, "It's just that I've already watched this many times, and I really can't spot any inappropriate details." 0

Freyr smiled slightly, "It's just that one person may not see any issues, but not everyone feels the same way. When everyone watches together and discusses their views, they can quickly compare and identify any discrepancies." 0

Russell raised an eyebrow and said, "That's right, just like that. Got it? Let's start; we’ll continue watching." 0

Anis huffed but still understood and turned on the computer. "I'll operate it for everyone; let’s watch it again." 0

As he spoke, a dark corridor appeared again on the Virtual Screen. It was that familiar yet strange corridor, and this time the footage played at half speed, moving so slowly that it became a bit tiring to watch. Although there was a desire to speed it up a bit, it was impossible to find the desired details when played too fast. 0

Finally, after two minutes, they caught sight of the monster. 0

The movement speed of these monsters was quite exaggerated. Aside from the bipedal creature that walked upright, the others either crawled on the ground or used their hard scales to gain forward momentum through friction against the surface. 0
