After dinner, the night deepened.
Time passed, and it was well into the early hours of the morning.
The jungle stirred faintly, a tremendous rumble spreading across a section of the Wheat Field.
"Alert!" Russell commanded, prompting everyone to mobilize quickly.
"Don't panic," Anis said with a mysterious smile. "Let's test its limits with those traps."
Countless searchlights emitted concentrated beams of light, swiftly converging on a spot not far from the Wheat Field.
The chaos did not subside.
"Damn it," in the military district, Black Instructor paused for a moment before saying, "Can we see what this monster actually looks like?"
"I underestimated its speed. Our brothers built these facilities, and yet they were breached so quickly."
"Don't worry, it's all good," Anis replied with a grin. "The traps we designed this time are practically foolproof. I guarantee it won't break through easily. Even if it gets past the final barrier, I'll make sure it sheds a layer of skin." He typed rapidly on the keyboard, and soon a hazy image appeared on the Computer's Virtual Screen.
The night was dark, and the image on the Virtual Screen was mostly obscured by shadows.
However, everyone could see a strange silhouette on the Virtual Screen.
The shadow was dodging and weaving against the incoming assassination weapons, indicating that it wasn't using all of its true abilities.
He appeared remarkably calm, as if everything was under his control.
In an instant, a burst of purple light shot out explosively, and he scanned the surroundings with his eyes.
Countless assassination weapons were instantly shattered by that burst of Purple Light.
A row of thin bamboo needles melted away in the purple sphere, and a Wooden Hammer quickly fell down.
Under the bombardment of the purple sphere, a wooden stump, thicker than the arms of three adults combined, was reduced to wood shavings.
However, there were still many wooden stumps remaining.
The Vassal's skills were terrifying; in just a few moments, three or four Wooden Hammers exploded.
The Vassal stepped forward, gradually moving toward the outskirts of the Wheat Field.
His speed was even faster than anticipated, and as he advanced deeper, he left not a single scratch behind.
As time went on, the methods of launching hidden weapons became increasingly efficient.
However, this seemed to have no effect on his speed.
Upon witnessing this, those watching the Vassal on the Virtual Screen turned pale.
"Is this really a human?"
Someone murmured upon seeing the shadow within the Virtual Screen.
"He's not human; he's a monster, a Vassal, a perfect amalgamation of life," the Black Officer said calmly.
A gloomy-looking man stepped forward.
As he reached out to touch the image of the Vassal on the Virtual Screen, he excitedly pushed aside three or four people standing nearby, his hands trembling with anticipation around the cup he held.
"Perfect! I want to see just how perfect it can be," Anis exclaimed with a grin, slapping his chest and laughing heartily.
At this point, everyone turned silent and focused on the Virtual Screen.
In the pitch-black Wheat Field, the ground suddenly caved in, and the Vassal quickly fell into the pit as the soil and rocks collapsed around it.
With a single pull, dozens of Wooden Hammers descended, and the triggering line was severed.
A tremendous roar erupted instantly, and in the next moment, the Virtual Screen went dark.
Everyone thought the image on the Virtual Screen had become very blurry, but the sudden extinguishing of the screen was indeed strange.
"What happened?"
The Black Commander replied coolly.
"The camera was blown up," Anis huffed. "I had another camera brought in from afar for closer observation."
With that, he quickly typed on the keyboard, and gradually, a faint image began to reappear on the Virtual Screen.
Amidst the swirling dust in the Wheat Field...
The wheat field appeared as if it had been buried in flames, leaving behind a scene of devastation with many burnt stalks.
"Ha, if it's dead, then so be it," Bainam sneered.
"No, not yet." A researcher patted Anis on the shoulder and said calmly, "Look, it's coming out. This is your fatal strike!"
"The best part is still to come." Anis smiled mysteriously and chuckled, "There's something even more entertaining. After all, it did get injured this time."
The soil of the wheat field stirred slightly, and a purple figure suddenly burst forth.
Vassal let out a fierce roar as a bamboo needle pierced completely through its shoulder.
As it emerged from the ground, the Bamboo Sword was gradually stripped away from its body.
Vassal turned its head, seemingly noticing the camera's target.
Turning around, a green orb of light began to gather and intertwine between its arms, and then it shot out explosively.
The camera erupted in a loud explosion.
The Virtual Screen dimmed once again.
"This time it was Vassal who discovered it and blew it up," Anis teased.
In moments like this, no one was more excited than them.
A shadow approached from afar, drawing closer.
The researchers were nearly shouting with excitement as a multitude of dazzling light orbs rapidly illuminated from the center of the Wheat Field.
Just like the sun, the Corona shone brightly, casting light all around.
However, the color emitted by this Corona was a pure deep purple.
"This overwhelming pressure, this absolute deterrence, this is the ultimate life form."
One researcher tore off his coat, his wig slipping from his head as he nearly howled in desperation.
"Have you lost your mind?" Russell pushed him away.
"I'm not crazy; I'm perfectly sane. He is the savior." The researcher turned back with a chilling smile. "We need everything about it, its genes. If possible, I want it alive—new blood and flesh. I want all of it."
"You really have gone mad." Russell shook his head, his expression troubled. "No matter what, such a creature exceeds all boundaries. It’s a monster; we cannot let it continue to live."
"The mission must proceed; you can't restrain me. Hahaha!"
The researcher quickly stripped off all his outer garments and dashed toward the source of the purple light.
"Quick, stop him!"
The Black Instructor hurriedly led others to block his path.
At that moment, screams echoed through the air.
The researcher broke through everyone's defenses in an instant, executing a shoulder throw that sent several people crashing to the ground.
As the figure grew more distant, no one was able to stop him.
"Where did this guy get such strength? This is impossible," someone exclaimed in astonishment.
"Hmph, nothing is impossible. He's gone mad; let him be," Black Commander said, shaking his head and waving his hand to open up the battle lines.
"I found a camera in the distance; you all come over and take a look," Anis suddenly announced.
"Okay."
There were some interruptions, but no one seemed affected by them.
At that moment, everyone's focus shifted back to the scene displayed on the Virtual Screen before them.
Vassal had already broken through halfway, except for a large gash on his wound.
As for the skin that had been hit by the explosion, it showed no signs of scarring.
