The figure of Mother Queen Maya I approached slowly.
Her face was filled with rage, a dark bruise marking the corner of her mouth—a wound inflicted during the recent attack.
Only this mark remained; the rest of her was unharmed.
This was the result of Freyr's blow, a mere scratch that left its mark before he departed this world, consumed by resentment.
"Unforgivable..." Elder Maya I hissed, her lips curling in hatred as she roared like the Shinra Evil Spirit.
Was her fury solely for the outcome of that punch?
A king with such a temperament, especially since Freyr had unknowingly caused harm to her body.
This could potentially lead to defects in her child, and no mother would allow any injury to befall her offspring.
The queen was enraged; she raised her hand and slapped Freyr, causing his face to swell.
With his knee injury reaching a critical point, Freyr could only stand there, immobilized, enduring the onslaught of slaps.
Soon, a buzzing roar filled his ears.
He had never realized that this world could be so quiet, as if it could contain only him.
He was losing his hearing while the queen continued to lash out at his body, gradually diminishing his senses.
Before long, it would take away his time.
Can time truly be stolen? In reality, a person's time belongs solely to themselves and their community; humans are social beings who cannot exist apart from one another.
Those who steal time can only become mere shells of their former selves, perhaps even losing their own consciousness.
"Although you may no longer hear it, this is the end." Mother Queen Maya I delivered a brutal blow to Freyr, her body covered in wounds, her outline gradually fading away. The only reason she still stood there, able to breathe, was that Mother Queen Maya I had not delivered a fatal strike.
Mother Queen Maya I slightly raised her hand, transforming it into a knife-like gesture, her sharp nails protruding ominously.
Each claw was as sharp as a scalpel, slowly gliding toward the edge of the artery in his neck.
A chilling sensation crept along his neck, but the person confronting him had already lost all awareness, their barely perceptible vision only able to catch a glimpse of a silhouette.
Was he finally going to die? It hadn't been long since he had entered this world, and who could blame him for being an unlucky rookie hunter caught up in this struggle against such a formidable foe?
There were still many unexpected things to come.
Just as Mother Queen Maya I was about to deliver the final blow, three colorful arrows of light shot forth from behind her.
With a spiral of airflow, they struck Elder Maya I's back, but the arrows did not pierce through.
Instead, they shattered upon contact with her tough skin.
Ultimately, it was just an attack without substance, created from a certain density of air. Its strength was balanced according to the user's abilities.
"Damn it!" shouted a man from the crowd who had fired the colorful arrows.
No one felt as frustrated as he did; those arrows consumed nearly one-tenth of his energy. The truth was that the more energy one expended, the less there was left to create. Moreover, recovery was incredibly slow. If he could use it close to eight or nine times, that would be considered ultimate.
For hunters at their level, it was almost a decisive moment when they would recklessly unleash such attacks.
There weren't many opportunities that allowed them enough time to prepare; they dared not use their energy carelessly for fear of depleting it further.
They would patiently wait, sometimes even lying in wait in dense grass filled with mosquitoes for an entire night just to catch a glimpse of their prey's weakness.
It was all due to that moment of negligence.
And in the instant when Mother Queen Maya I turned her back, it was precisely the opportunity for her weakness to be exposed.
However, she did not expect to overlook the strength between them. One must understand that what is called a weakness is sometimes deliberately revealed; those apparent strengths can be fabricated. Once destroyed, those who seem powerful may find themselves unable to stand.
But this weakness was a mistake?! It was a weakness that Queen Mother intentionally exposed. Her hardened muscles could withstand bullets, yet they still left faint white marks on her skin.
Mother Queen Maya I slowly turned her head and smiled slightly. "Don't rush. It will soon be your turn, and you will all die here."
With that declaration, it was akin to a sentence of death.
It forcefully drew everyone's thoughts into the cold, bone-chilling depths of the cave.
"Let me deal with him first, then I'll handle you," Mother Queen Maya I said lightly as she turned her head, her palm tightening as her retracting nails sprang back into place.
"It ends here~ Die."
As the attack was about to descend, a more powerful rainbow arrow shot forth.
"What~" This time, however, Mother Queen Maya turned her head slightly and with a flick of her wrist, caught the sharp rainbow arrow in her palm.
With a firm squeeze, it shattered into dust once more.
"This is impossible~" the man gasped for breath.
That previous Feather had consumed one-fifth of his energy. It was barely enough for the king to catch it, yet it had caused no damage at all.
Thus, the earlier attack had been futile; the energy spent would not simply return. He could only manage an awkward smile in response.
"Is it never-ending? Humans, always looking for trouble. I don't want to waste my time here. I'll come back for you later, so make sure to wash your neck and wait for me." Mother Queen Maya I released her grip, a sinister smile curling at the corners of her mouth as her gaze swept forward.
The man swallowed hard, fear lingering in his heart for a long time, but at that moment, the smile on his lips made him seem somewhat deranged.
"Heh heh, Vassal, I'm going to send you off with my life." As he spoke, a ghostly and eerie smile spread across his face. The dark light emanating from his chest began to spread rapidly, and the Feather gathering between his fingers was no longer a spectrum of colors but a chaotic Dark Arrow.
"Don't look, human. This is the resolve of humanity; your ambition ends here."
With a roar, the Dark Arrow shot forth like a hawk targeting its prey, the swirling black mist transforming into a streak of black light that quickly pierced toward its intended target.
The Dark Arrow sliced through the air with alarming speed, its power reaching an incredibly terrifying level in an instant.
"What~"
Queen Mother was taken aback, raising her hand as if she intended to shatter the Dark Arrow with a barrier of pressure.
However, the gravitational force seemed ineffective; the black streak of light's Feather swiftly slipped into its designated range.
"Boom~" A thunderous sound erupted as an area was engulfed in smoke and dust.
The figure that had been standing motionless at the edge, Freyr, also fell to the ground without any reaction or cries for help.
