"Where have you been just now?" Mother Queen Maya I scolded.
The head, gazing into the cold pupils of the Queen Mother, immediately showed a look of fear. Bowing low, it said, "Your Majesty, I was buried in the ground just now, which made me quite uncomfortable. When you called for me, I was still struggling. I apologize for not being able to assist you."
"Forget it; this is a minor issue. It is time for you to show your loyalty to me. Are you willing to serve me?"
"No, in the future, I will need you to serve the newborn emperor."
Mother Queen Maya looked indifferently at the head beside her heel, as if trying to see the truth and everything hidden within its eyes.
In fact, the Queen Mother did not need to do this; the head's soul was already grasped in her palm, easily manipulated. The thoughts within its mind were all quantified.
It could not delve deeper; if it were forcibly brainwashed into becoming an unconscious monster that only understood obedience, it would be of no benefit to the emperor's future. A more intelligent right-hand man was indeed needed to serve the emperor and teach him how to wield that wisdom.
Some consciousness could not escape the gaze of the Queen Mother; she could discern it with a single glance! But mainly, she feared that memories from when he was still human would trouble him. This part of his memory could not be altered by the king; otherwise, his wisdom would become even more incomplete. The Queen Mother needed a brain with complete memories and wisdom, akin to a strategist for the Radiant Insectoid Civilization.
However, higher status could also breed greed. Humanity was such a terrifying creature, with desires too strong. The Queen Mother had encountered such heads before and became wary after learning about their twisted inner worlds and mental states. Yet she would never harbor such thoughts about her soon-to-be-born son; she hoped he could live happily.
But now she could not achieve this step; only through victory could her son taste the fruits of peace. Until then, she had to resolutely ensure that her son matured quickly, thinking like a human and learning the ways of kingship. These twisted and untainted parts of knowledge would be unlocked in her mind until the moment her son was born.
The seal would gradually lift as the new king grew up, and his changes would become increasingly incredible with age because only by doing so could an entire Insectoid society be established.
The main concern remained that greed might destabilize future civilizations.
The head would be more or less an unstable factor.
"I swear to protect the emperor; it is my everything. I will treat it as my own son."
This was indeed a heartfelt statement, showing that the head held the highest thoughts about this complete life form and wished to follow it until the end.
"Oh? That's good," the Queen Mother slowly shifted her gaze to the air above. "Do you remember what I told you?"
"Um, Your Majesty, why this sudden topic? I remember you promised to give me a perfect body for my use," the head replied in astonishment.
"Yes, this is it. I will definitely do it. Right now, I can help you create it," Mother Queen Maya said, looking into the void with a hint of distress.
"Thank you, Your Majesty," the head quickly expressed gratitude.
"No need for thanks. Remember your promise. I have tampered with your soul, and if you break your word, Restraint will activate and shatter your soul into pieces."
At the mention of a shattered soul, the head instinctively shuddered, breaking into a cold sweat and offering an awkward smile.
"Alright then, I will give you a body," Elder Maya I replied with a smile.
Slowly bending down, she pressed her bloodied hand against the head's face, her form trembling slightly.
From the throat, an unusual object began to grow larger, surging upward until a white egg dropped messily from the mouth.
"Come forth," Elder Maya I commanded again, reciting an ancient language that sounded like a death chant.
The white egg began to crack open, releasing countless wisps of white mist from within. Then emerged a headless creature with a large mouth at its navel, covered in terrifying spikes and hard black scales that clung to its body. It resembled a twisted version of Queen Mother’s other form.
With a startled cry from the head, the aura triggered by the blood began to transform its features from delicate to monstrous, two pairs of large horns protruding and revealing horrific fangs along with a skeletal face that was eerily terrifying.
The most peculiar aspect was that skeletal face which emitted pale white flames, resembling Will-o'-the-Wisp lights that stood out vividly in the night. It appeared less like a living being and more like a cursed entity.
Even its breath could unleash scorching mist.
"Fire Capital, this is your name. Serve me and our new emperor," Mother Queen Maya I said wearily as she gently placed the transformed head onto the body shell. Suddenly, an oppressive atmosphere began to spread.
A pressure comparable to Queen Mother’s emerged as Fire Capital's head adapted to the shell. The twisted patterns on its body became increasingly pronounced with dark red stripes, making it look even more fearsome as its form grew larger.
Within its hollow eye sockets glowed pairs of dark purple Will-o'-the-Wisp lights—those were its eyes, focusing on what lay ahead.
Meanwhile, not far from where this event unfolded, a group of figures anxiously watched the fiery shadows in the area. The scene felt like being in a desert, as if a massive mirage loomed before them—a truly terrifying spectacle.
"What on earth is happening? Is there still support from the Vassal? Who is it?" someone exclaimed in shock.
Everyone fell silent, unable to speak.
The calm they managed to display was already quite difficult; that blaze was actually a convergence of the fire element from the Elemental Earth Wind Water Fire, something that ordinary water could not extinguish.
Although various elemental attributes countered each other, there were not many on their side capable of countering such a fire element.
Moreover, even if they had water elements, it might not lead to any significant breakthrough unless it was a foolish idiot standing still, getting killed by the chaotic currents of water elements.
Even so, anyone with a bit of intelligence could see the stark difference in strength between the two sides.
"No, I don't know. It seems like the momentum is even greater than that of the Vassal."
Some felt a bit of difficulty in breathing, hot air rising into their trachea, causing a painful sensation.
At a distance, fortunately, the temperature wasn't too high.
Yet even so, breathing was still somewhat labored; one could only imagine how it would feel up close—certainly as painful as being engulfed by the Blazing Fire Sea.
