Although the approaching Spirits did not immediately inflict effective damage on him, the important aspect was that their numbers were far greater than they had imagined. Moreover, their movement was quite strange; they needed to clear a path. Otherwise, if one were to collide with them, the affected muscles would show signs of sulfuric acid corrosion, and it would be much worse than that—no strength could be mustered. 0

With the weapons they had at hand, they were unable to deal with these Spirits. Perhaps only Ross's specially crafted Feathers could effectively subdue them. For some reason, he felt that Ross was hiding something, and he noticed that Ross's movements had become very skilled. Each strike exuded ferocity, as if he had gained a profound understanding of life itself. As he charged forward, he intended to retrieve the fired Feathers for reuse but never expected Ross to suddenly notch an arrow and shoot it back at his feet. 0

It was two Feathers; the edges seemed to be inscribed with strange runes and emitted a faint gilded glow, appearing to tremble slightly. Indeed, they were the so-called Alchemical Matrix. Such tools were typically very rare, and their ability to be reused was due to the energy within the runes not being fully expended. This was why these arrows were so expensive. However, these arrows were not the Feathers that Freyr had exchanged for him; they were ordinary arrows from a quiver containing a hundred exceptionally sharp ones—this was the strongest equipment Ross currently possessed. He had no idea where those other arrows came from. 0

To be honest, he understood Ross's intentions well enough; he would likely reveal what he wanted to know in due time. Therefore, he wasn't in a hurry to ask too many questions, avoiding any further trouble. If he pushed Ross too hard, it might lead to them being killed together. For now, it was fortunate that Ross hadn’t gone insane and still recognized their current situation, treating them as companions. 0

Freyr firmly grasped the two Alchemical Arrows from the ground. With these two arrows in hand, an idea suddenly struck him. 0

He discarded the arrow he held and grabbed one end of each Alchemical Arrow with both hands, quickly charging toward a Spirit that had popped its head out from one side. He inflicted significant damage on it; these Spirit monsters continuously suffered harm, and injuries caused by Alchemical means were particularly difficult to heal. It was as if the human body’s self-healing functions were nearly halted by mercury-like substances. At this moment, Alchemical methods were indeed the nemesis of these Spirits. 0

The others followed closely behind the two in front—one shooting while the other drew in targets for close combat—as they pressed forward. Soon enough, they realized how far they had come; those Spirits seemed to have vanished at this point, and their breathing became heavy. 0

As Xiong Tai approached a bit closer, a sudden burst of white gas erupted from a hole in the ground. 0

This so-called white gas was steam that instantly enveloped him from behind, causing him to jump up in shock as stars danced before his eyes. 0

He nearly collided with the ceiling above; the height here wasn’t very tall—they had already descended into a deep area. 0

Among them, Xiong Tai was caught off guard while everyone else maintained a good mindset. As long as they kept their heads down and paid attention to timing, they wouldn’t be affected by this steam. The temperature of this steam was quite high; that sudden burst likely left an indelible impact on Xiong Tai—it almost cooked his special Target below. So this was something that required special caution. 0

Afterward, they continued onward. From this point on into the depths, the walls turned red; even a slight touch would leave red soil on their hands. 0

The soil resembled volcanic ash, yet it was different in many ways. No one believed it would be of any use; instead, they filled a bottle with a bit of it to take back for further study, hoping to uncover some grand secret. 0

Freyr continued to channel the so-called Elemental Power, illuminating the Survey Gem. In fact, from the very beginning, this place had offered a unique experience. The temperature kept rising, and although they were relatively special humans, they still struggled to adapt to such heat. They could only take a break, drink some water, and then press on. 0

Little did they know that the water they drank was scalding hot. At this point, it hardly mattered; once their perception reached Ultimate levels, the distinction between hot and cold water became insignificant. Any hydration was better than none. However, it was hard for anyone to believe that the water they had just consumed would soon be sweated out. 0

Feeling the surrounding temperature continue to rise, they began using Elemental Power to resist the heat. A haze generated by the elements enveloped them, forming a barrier that blocked most of the heat. Although this method was physically taxing, it was still more bearable than being drained by the relentless warmth. 0

Knowing that the temperature here would become unbearable, they had no choice but to quicken their pace; only by doing so could they return sooner. After an unknown amount of time, the battery in their wristwatch had died from overuse, rendering it useless for keeping time. It should have been about ten minutes since then when a strong red zone appeared before them. 0

They were completely unprepared for this sudden change and found themselves dizzy from the blinding red light. Realizing that this could lead to dire consequences, they quickly closed their eyes and knelt down, focusing their minds once more to reinforce their elemental barrier against the direct assault of light. 0

After suffering various injuries and losing track of time, Freyr was the first to stand up again. 0

This place had indeed changed significantly. Looking up, he saw a red orb resembling a Heart hovering above them. The menacing red light appeared terrifying and suggested an alluring temptation; even so, humans had discovered ways to extract its cells. 0

This task could only be accomplished alone. During the planning phase years ago, they had devised a surgical method for cell separation. Theoretically, as long as some residual material was obtained, their plan would be complete. However, upon arriving here, they realized it was far more complicated than they had anticipated. How should they proceed? Naturally, clever humans eventually devised a smart solution; the tools they carried were sufficient to contain such cells, which were likely highly combustible and emitted energy similar to light. 0

Of course, it was impossible to carry them back in hand; doing so would render the carrier's muscles transparent from exposure to the light. Even if they returned home safely, survival would be uncertain due to potential radiation exposure in this area. 0
