The scene was truly grand. 0

Even though they were still on patrol atop the Tower, Freyr and his team felt quite awkward during their night patrol, as it coincided with the Cosmic Bug War. They were unable to connect to the internet to watch the live satellite broadcast of the battle. However, perhaps it was for the best; if they lost, the discomfort in their hearts would be unbearable. 0

From the cheers echoing from within the tents, it was clear that aside from a group lamenting their misfortune, there were also sounds of genuine applause. This battle seemed to be quite intense, and if the Zerg was indeed suffering losses under the bombardment, it would be a good sign. 0

Nevertheless, the resilience and numbers of the Zerg had always been a source of anxiety for humanity. Whenever a tribe of Insectoids gathered in sufficient numbers for a large migration, they would be locked onto by military satellites in Outer Space. Kinetic Energy Weapons would immediately target them, primarily detonating in areas unreachable by humans. Any damage incurred was inconsequential; after all, monetary figures were just numbers. Although losses could amount to twelve or thirteen digits at once, the population remained intact, and humanity's foundational strength still persisted. Within a few years, they could rise again. 0

The power of Kinetic Energy Weapons could unleash devastation comparable to a nuclear bomb in a short time, turning a Biological Migration into a massacre. It was evident that every weapon humanity possessed could potentially destroy this planet. However, if Kinetic Energy Weapons were deployed, considerable time would be required to produce another one capable of penetrating the atmosphere. Thus, they could only weigh the drawbacks and use it as a last resort. 0

In fact, migrations of the Zerg had always occurred. If they did not encroach upon human territory, humanity would not actively invade them. Otherwise, a Biological Migration could trigger instinctual territorial disputes among animals. Humanity simply lacked the energy to contend with such large-scale conflicts occurring annually. 0

It had been nearly twenty years since such biological migrations had last occurred. The last time the Zerg approached human territory was about twenty-five years ago, resulting in significant losses for humanity. However, the Zerg did not gain any advantage either; both sides likely ended up at a stalemate. 0

Ultimately, humanity deployed most of its forces for tactical diversion. Using Excavators to dig pits beneath the battlefield, they lured the bugs into these holes with strategic inducement. Then they unleashed incendiary devices and various explosives together. In no time at all, the insects trapped in those pits were annihilated. 0

That battle came at a considerable cost; it took nearly five years for recovery and complete restoration. Yet many years had passed since then, and humanity had made significant advancements compared to that battle twenty-five years ago—whether in technological development or in replenishing reserves of soldiers. If two more similar wars were to occur now, humanity would not suffer too much loss. 0

This race had been rooted in their survival territory for millions of years and would never compromise; they would continue to thrive. 0

Under the relentless bombardment from Airships, the ground cracked open like gaping wounds. Flames in the gorge resembled arranged magma flows, while valleys appeared as an endless sea of fire below where swarms of insects roared continuously. 0

The cannon fire from the Airships lasted for fifteen minutes; thus, they needed to return before their fuel ran out. 0

Otherwise, they could only let their bodies make contact with the ground, and such a mutually destructive approach was hardly worth it. 0

Only the Airship could continue fighting, always ready to return at a moment's notice to face the next battle. 0

After exhausting their ammunition, they would return, while the Cruise Missile continued its widespread bombardment. 0

The Gorge was instantly engulfed in flames, and the Zerg writhed, struggling in the fire. 0

The Zerg was indeed a terrifying group; their sheer numbers allowed them to surge out of this devastated inferno. 0

However, from the Virtual Screen, it appeared that only a few scattered Zerg remained on the ground, some of them moving faster out of sheer panic. 0

They retaliated wildly, lunging forward and charging ahead, but they had become like startled birds, lacking any fear. At such a distance, humanity's Battlefield could take advantage of this time during their return to make sufficient preparations. The large-scale Tank Battalion and Cannons on the ground would serve as the main source of firepower for positional warfare. 0

These firearms could inflict damage on the Zerg from afar. Although the Zerg was formidable at close range, humans could not completely fend them off. While well-crafted protective gear could at least mitigate some damage, certain powerful attacks could bypass these defenses entirely, cleaving humans in half. Fortunately, the Tower's doors were sturdy enough to serve as a barrier. 0

After a brief rest, another wave of Airships launched an overlapping cover attack aimed at crushing those scattered insects with overwhelming bombardment, continuing to dilute the numbers of the Zerg. Repeating this strategy would even allow humanity ample time for more detailed preparations. Perhaps there would still be hundreds or thousands of Zerg left on the other side, but they were significantly fewer than the initial Swarm. Humanity could win this battle at minimal cost. 0

Victory was already within reach. The strategic deployments arranged by humanity were seamless; among the Infantry Battalion, three Division Infantry were stationed. On both sides of the man-made earth mounds stood two Firepower Enhancement Units, mixed with snipers and brothers from the Submachine Gun infantry regiment. 0

The bullets in their hands were equipped with harder-to-manufacture Armor-Piercing Rounds. The most consumed resource in this war had been steel; Brass had long since disappeared here. After repeated use, Brass had become even scarcer. Perhaps it could still be mined elsewhere, but none of the twelve Noah's Sanctuaries around the world had such materials left. 0

Numerous Nuclear Landmines were also placed along the main road; any contact by insects would trigger a chain explosion. This served as an alarm to awaken the world—the Zerg was approaching—and it could also boost the soldiers' morale. 0

After layers of dilution, the number of bugs that can reach the base of the Tower has only become fewer. 0

The Infantry Battalion on the Tower, armed with Cannons as their gatekeeping weapons, stands ready. 0

Alongside the Division's Submachine Guns and the crossfire from infantry, this battle has a simulated success rate of ninety-nine point nine percent. 0

However, it is not one hundred percent, which is why the Assassin Association and Hunter Association were mobilized to form a reserve force, to prevent such a scale of probability from occurring. 0

The large Flames can no longer spread to the base of the Tower; this can only be considered a warm-up battle. Nevertheless, this fight largely relies on geographical advantages and the foresight of having prepared in advance. Unless a Great Prophet or a strategist emerges among these bugs, even then, they cannot withstand the firepower developed through technology. 0
