After experiencing this false alarm, everyone's emotions settled down. 0

It was impossible not to be injured; fortunately, it was just superficial wounds. A simple bandaging revealed that there were no injuries to the bones or meridians, only external bruises. To outsiders, such injuries could not be taken lightly; they had to return to the medical center and wear a cast for careful observation before being released. 0

However, he was not an ordinary person, and he had seen such injuries many times before. 0

When the medical staff helped treat his injury, they discovered that other areas of his muscles bore different wounds. Some of those injuries looked quite alarming and could potentially cause severe blood loss or even lead to unconsciousness in an average person. Yet, he had multiple such injuries on him. 0

"It's nothing; this is nothing," Ross said. 0

"With your physique, experiencing dizziness would be considered an emergency response. Clearly, your bodies are robust. I couldn't even insert a syringe beneath your skin; it's strange how you managed that. There isn't an ounce of fat in your muscles; they are like steel. This kind of extreme training method could shorten your lifespan, yet you all appear very healthy. I regret to say, are you even human?" The doctor paused here, likely wanting to say something about monsters or gods. There were already enough of those around; it didn't matter anymore. Freyr wanted to encourage him to continue, but unfortunately, there wasn't much time for further discussion. 0

Now the entire Reaper Squad had to get moving again and continue their advance deeper into the area. They needed to take advantage of the time to collect as many bodies as possible from the site. They should try to retrieve whatever they could; those that couldn’t be taken shouldn’t be left for the beasts. Although some bodies had decayed beyond recognition, they still harbored parasites within them. Some parasites could even infest a host's brain to lay eggs, leading to severe consequences, even if the flesh itself was inedible. 0

However, through a one-sided cold treatment by humans, the flesh of these parasites could further mimic that of other animals. It was strange; some parasites tasted like fried chicken rolls—crunchy when bitten into. 0

At this point, there was little more to say. The doctor packed his belongings and continued deeper with them. This experience felt like a surreal journey for him—a thrilling adventure that now seemed uncertain and fraught with challenges. 0

However, it wasn’t long before they encountered Burrowing Worms again. These creatures were known for burrowing into the ground and consuming soil. Was it mere coincidence that they encountered one after another? It seemed odd; if there were one or two, it wouldn’t be a coincidence anymore. Something unknown was happening beneath their feet. 0

Thinking about this made them uneasy. Fortunately, these Burrowing Worms were not particularly powerful creatures, but in special circumstances—such as large earthquakes—these worms tended to emerge in large numbers. 0

"What is going on here?" Freyr pushed aside the person next to him, seemingly ready to charge at the opponent before him once more. 0

"Let me handle this, heh heh. I want to try out my weapon too, okay, Commander?" Xiong Tai grinned, and with a shift in his consciousness, two large golden hammers materialized in his hands—the Primordial Thunder Hammers. Their name was impressive enough, and their weight was indeed substantial, each weighing around a hundred pounds. 0

"I'll take you on! Die, you filthy creature!" In an instant, Xiong Tai charged forward like a raging bull, and the hammers in his hands appeared to grow larger. He swung them in a wide arc before throwing one forward. 0

"Bang!" A horrific scream echoed as the Burrowing Worm's face was smashed in, deeply caving in from the impact. The power of the flying hammer was undeniably strong; the creature's jaw shattered completely, leaving a gruesome mess of blood and flesh. 0

However, this seemed to enrage it. Pain easily provokes aggression in creatures, especially in a brutal beast like this one. It felt insulted, as if its territory had been invaded or its mate stolen. 0

The hammer struck one side while the other flew through the air, landing another blow to the Burrowing Worm's abdomen. The creature crashed heavily to the ground. 0

A heavy thud resonated as Xiong Tai quickly gripped another hammer with his empty hand. 0

He continued to forge ahead with both hammers. Although Xiong Tai was a warrior of strength, his agility was impressive as well; he combined speed with powerful strikes effectively. 0

With a hint of helplessness, he charged forward—after all, he was already strong enough. 0

The Burrowing Worm struggled to rise under his relentless assault. Xiong Tai crossed his hammers and took a few steps closer. The Burrowing Worm raised its head violently and spat out a mouthful of saliva. At that moment, everyone froze in shock, realizing what was about to happen. They shouted in alarm, but it was too late for anyone to react. 0

However, Xiong Tai was no ordinary person. He intercepted the spit with his hammer, blocking it directly with the flat surface. The saliva merely corroded the paint on the hammer's surface; most of it was absorbed by the weapon. In the next moment, the flying hammer reached the Burrowing Worm's face again. The creature staggered backward from the impact as if the force had increased to a thousand pounds; its face was now utterly unrecognizable. 0

Soon, Xiong Tai fell to the ground, the Burrowing Worm crushed into a pulp. 0

"Hehe, now you know my strength," Xiong Tai said proudly, as several people behind him approached, their eyes filled with disbelief. 0

"Oh my, what are we going to do?" one of them responded. 0

"It's been turned into mush," another person continued. 0

"Clearly, we can't take this worm back. Let's just leave it here and take a few suitable Targets with us. Some parts have a higher carbon content; they should work fine for making pendants or something. Its blood is non-corrosive, so we can handle it barehanded. I'll show you how," one of the attendants said, appearing knowledgeable. He put on dust gloves and began to separate the crushed meat with his bare hands, tossing it onto the truck behind them. Then he set fire to the remaining bits to ensure nothing would harm the surrounding wildlife. 0

There wasn't much time left; they streamlined the remaining process. After completing their tasks, they continued on their way, and the incident had already been reported back via satellite phone. 0
