In fact, they all felt quite stifled inside.
However, no matter how they reacted, this was what they called work. For the sake of survival, they had to swallow their pride, because only by doing so could they expand their future career prospects and earn better rewards. "Alright then, that’s settled. Thank you," Freyr said with concern.
"The Soldier-Level Hunters currently have an estimated total of one hundred fifteen teams in the association. Now converting your team number makes you the one hundred sixteenth Hunter Team. How does that sound?" He didn't expect such a low ranking number, but since rankings weren't based on strength alone, they could rest assured that they weren't at the bottom.
As they waited for their new team registration process to be completed—an affair that would take quite a long time—they waited in a specially designated meeting room at the Wanderer's Home. During this interim period, if they wanted anything to eat, they could simply place an order, and a delivery cart would arrive at the door—very convenient indeed.
After the Upgrade, the team's reputation would soar, and their daily mission rewards would increase as well. However, aside from that, their overall strength remained relatively low. While checking on the performance and achievements of other Ace Teams online, Astonishing discovered that there were still many experts at this level. Their abilities were already sufficient to rise to a higher tier.
Clearly, they were doing this for self-preservation, and sometimes the methods of survival were beyond their control. This was primarily to maintain fairness within the Hunter Team. "Delivery is here! Is anyone around?" A cart rolled in from outside, followed by the cheerful voice of a young server. There was a knock at the door.
The delivery boy seemed to be in good spirits today.
Hearing his voice, others were eager to open the door and tipped him a little. He then began introducing the food on the cart one by one. However, before he could finish, Xiong Tai had already lunged at the cart and started ordering. He pulled out a wad of cash from his wallet without even glancing at the prices, treating money as if it were worthless.
"Leave the cart here; come back with another one just like it in a bit, but bring more meat this time. We can exchange it later; I'll deduct a little from the payment. How does that sound?" Xiong Tai said as he unceremoniously grabbed a meat bun from the cart and started eating it without caring about its contents.
"This is really delicious," he responded while chewing.
Since Xiong Tai returned, he had changed quite a bit in certain aspects—something everyone could see.
However, their situation seemed fine overall; there were no significant negative impacts resulting from that incident.
"Hey, you're right! I want to try one too; it looks really good," Freyr said with a deep breath.
"Well then, I'll take my leave for now. I'll be back on time with your delivery shortly."
The waiter nodded and respectfully closed the door as he exited.
On this side, everyone was immersed in joy. After all, their spirits were high today, and with delicious food accompanying them, the happiness only multiplied. They had once dreamed of a future with potential, and today was the realization of that dream. They had truly made it and were finally living up to their aspirations.
“Phew, Commander, from now on, the difficulty and danger levels of the missions we take will increase. I think we should start with missions that are more balanced in difficulty. Gradually, we can raise the difficulty level with each subsequent mission. The association seems to be giving us ample time to improve, so there’s no need to rush. We should focus on building a solid foundation. If our team construction reaches Soldier-Level Hunter Team status, we’ll have two additional slots available. I’m considering inviting two hunters from other teams to join us then; that should enhance our team’s strength,” Ross immediately responded, sounding quite analytical.
However, even so, Freyr did not intend to follow his suggestion entirely. He calmly nodded and said, “No, I think I’ll choose my teammates differently. I prefer the method of sifting through the sand at sea. First, you all were selected by me using this method; second, I want to understand the current standards for selecting members in the association. I can also bring in my former comrades.” It seemed Freyr had a broader vision in mind.
