"It’s getting dark again. We can’t just stay here forever, can we?" It was Tina's voice. 0

"What can we do? Our car is almost out of gas, and your car doesn’t even have the keys!" Liang Zhiyuan's voice was filled with despair. 0

"You said your wife and my husband..." 0

"How would I know? She should be too drunk to remember anything!" 0

"You broke the rules; you need to compensate us!" 0

"I only want to compensate you..." 0

I quietly opened my eyes. The two of them were lost in each other, kissing and nibbling, their hands exploring beneath each other's clothes, as if I were a lifeless body curled up in the back seat. 0

What activity? What rules? What kind of deal was going on between them? 0

"Do you see that light?" Tina exclaimed. 0

"Yes, it's coming toward us!" My husband sounded excited. "Great! We're saved!" 0

I cleared my throat lightly, and they immediately pulled apart. 0

"Wife, you're awake? We’re saved! Look over there; there's a convoy!" 0

In the distance, lights twinkled as they quickly approached us, but suddenly I sensed danger: "Quick, hide!" 0

I pushed the door open and got out of the car, tightly wrapping my coat around me as I pulled the two of them toward the shadows. 0

"What are you doing? It’s not every day someone comes by!" Tina struggled to resist, while Liang Zhiyuan hesitated. "Wife, let’s just wait and see!" 0

I remembered two phrases: On a dark night with a strong wind, it’s a time for murder and arson! 0

Unable to drag them along, I chose to let go and sprinted away from the direction of the approaching lights. 0

Suddenly, my foot slipped, and I fell heavily into a deep pit. 0

As the lights drew closer, I heard Liang Zhiyuan and Tina's cries for help: 0

"Help!" 0

"Help!" 0

The sounds of screeching brakes filled the air, followed by barking dogs and shouts from people. 0

"I never thought there’d be a pair of wild lovebirds hiding in our territory. You know what? This girl isn’t bad at all; let’s let the brothers take turns having some fun..." 0

"Meat delivered to your mouth is a sin not to eat!" 0
"Boss, it's my turn to be second this time!" 0
"I want to go twice, no, three times..." 0
... 0
The men's voices were unbearable. 0
"No, you can't do this! Beasts..." Tina cried out, her voice breaking, but was quickly silenced by someone covering her mouth. Only muffled sounds escaped her lips. 0
"Pretty boy, just sit there and watch. No turning your head, no closing your eyes..." 0
"This is so damn exciting!" 0
... 0
My head throbbed with pain, and my body felt cold, but the overwhelming fear nearly made me lose consciousness! 0
I lay there, too afraid to move. If those beasts discovered me, my fate would be the same as Tina's! 0
The barking of dogs grew closer, and someone shouted loudly, "Follow them and see!" 0
Bright beams of light shone down on me from above. I squeezed my eyes shut and dared not move, letting the falling stones and dirt cover my head and hit my back. 0
With every breath, I inhaled nothing but dust through my nose and mouth. 0
The dogs circled the edge of the pit, barking incessantly until someone forcibly dragged them away. "Get lost, you fools! Don't waste time!" 0
As dawn approached, the group finally left. 0
I summoned all my strength to crawl out of the deep pit, the dried blood on my head sticking to the sand. 0
My husband stared at me like a fool, speechless at the sight of me—half human, half ghost. 0
Tina was done for! 0
She had not a shred of clothing left; her chest was covered in scratches and bite marks, and there were bruises around her neck where she had been choked. This pack of beasts had taken turns violating her and torturing her mercilessly. 0
Throughout it all, my husband was forced to "observe" helplessly! 0
Our car and that pickup truck were still there, but the windows had been smashed and the tires slashed. 0
The camp had been dug up into a large pit as if it had been prepared long ago; they had stored a large quantity of poached Tibetan Antelope skins here for retrieval. 0

This was a group of poachers. 0

As I rummaged through the wreckage of the car, my husband, as if his soul had just returned, murmured, "Honey, are we dead or alive?" 0

Beside us lay the lifeless body of Tina. 0

All we found was half a bottle of water and a piece of bread that had been trampled on; this would be our last supply before we faced death. 0

My husband, in a daze, was completely unreliable. I tightened my coat around me and climbed onto the roof of the car, looking around in hopes of spotting another vehicle or any signs of life. 0

The entire day passed; the water was gone, and the bread was finished. Next, perhaps we would have to wait for wolves and vultures to come for us. 0

Wrapped in a military coat, we sat huddled together against the wind, watching the sunset as we quietly awaited death's harvest. 0

"I'm sorry, honey. I didn't tell you the truth," he began. "That day I also drank too much. Tina clinked glasses with me, and we had a great conversation. She asked me to walk with her, so we left the group together. In a secluded place, she kissed me, and I kissed her back... then we... well, her husband had drunk too much and fell asleep in the car. She brought a tent and sleeping bag... We spent the night outside." 0

I remained silent, tears streaming down my face uncontrollably: why weren't the wolves eating you both? 0

"In the early morning light, we came back and found you were gone. Her husband was also missing... Everyone was gone. We couldn't leave; we could only wait..." 0

I responded to his betrayal with silence. 0

"That man... he didn't take advantage of you, did he?" 0

"He did! I escaped while he was distracted!" I deliberately enunciated each word clearly, feeling a sense of vindication inside. 0

"You! You!" Liang Zhiyuan's eyes flared with anger before he slumped down weakly. 0

In the distance, there were lights! 0

We dared not gamble whether they belonged to angels or demons; we helped each other into the deep pit where I had fallen last night and covered ourselves with dirt. 0

"Those bastards would rather smash everything than drag it over to us!" 0

"Enough! If they can't do anything right, at least it's good if they can 'drop you a message' on their way," one replied. "Get to work; fixing eight tires will take some time." 0

"Damn it! Repairing cars instead of stealing them—this business is doable!" 0

The voices were faint but still understandable. 0

Three men arrived—mechanics. 0

These men were connected to the poachers; they were not good people either. 0
