I had originally intended to save her, and now that she had answered my question, I swiftly drew my knife and let my blood drip onto her body.

The next moment, I was awakened by Shangguan Mingyue's loud voice.
Following her into the main hall, I found Li Mubai and my master already there, seemingly waiting for us.

Li Mubai approached me with an elongated ruler in hand, giving me an apologetic look before striking me hard with it.

With a loud sound, my back was hit forcefully, and I gritted my teeth to endure the pain.
Tears streamed down my face uncontrollably. If he was going to hit me, I deserved to understand why. I asked again, "Master, please tell me what I did wrong."
My master looked at Li Mubai, indicating for him to answer. I turned my gaze toward Li Mubai.
"Junior Sister, you allowed a ghostly being to ascend the mountain without reporting it to Master; that is one mistake. Master kindly offered you White Fungus Soup, and you discarded it without drinking; that is the second mistake."
After Li Mubai finished speaking, the ruler struck my back once more. This time, I remained silent; it was indeed my fault.

The female ghost leaned close to my ear and said in a sultry voice, "What do you want? You’re not falling for me, are you? I'm not into that."
"I'm here to ask you some questions," I stated plainly, revealing the purpose of my visit.
"Questions are fine, but there are conditions."
"Alright, as long as you tell me what this is, I will agree to your terms."
I retrieved the remnants of the White Fungus Soup I had discarded that night and handed it to the female ghost, hoping to find some answers.
The ghost took it, brought it to her nose, and sniffed. Then she smiled slightly and said, "I know what this is now. If you want the answer, you just have to let me possess you once, and I'll tell you."
After pondering for a moment and weighing the pros and cons, I replied, "You have to promise not to use my body for any wrongdoing, and then I will agree."
"It's a deal." The ghost extended her hand and we clasped palms in agreement.
"Now can you do it?" I glared at her, worried she might pull a trick.
The ghost seemed to see through my thoughts and laughed. "You don't need to be so wary of me. This is just a bowl of soup mixed with Contraceptive Pill; there's no need for deception."
"You mean there's Contraceptive Pill in this?" I found it hard to believe.
"If you don't believe me, you can ask the person who gave it to you. I assure you it's definitely Contraceptive Pill; I stake my Primordial Spirit on it," she declared confidently.
"Do you know who gave this to me?"
I paused for a moment before asking again.

Then, a shadow lunged at me, and a deep male voice echoed, "Did you not pass? Why are you back?"
My body, beyond my control, spoke up, "I came to find you. Zhang Xiaoqian has something to tell you."
Upon hearing that name, the shadow in front of me visibly trembled.
It slowly transformed into a human figure before me, looking quite decent—a ruggedly handsome man. His voice was particularly low and carried a sense of weariness. "What happened to her?"
I could feel Zhang Xiaoqian's emotions within me. When the Male Ghost spoke, her body noticeably shuddered, her feelings fluctuating. Struggling to suppress my own impulses, I held my breath and said, "Zhang Xiaoqian is gone. She wants me to ask you if you ever liked her."
The Male Ghost erupted in fury, lunging at me and gripping my throat. "What do you mean 'gone'?"
"First, answer me—did you ever like her?"
The Male Ghost replied firmly, "No."
Then he immediately asked, "What happened to her?"
"She left. She departed from Xuanzong."
After delivering this message from Zhang Xiaoqian, I felt her presence leave my body as we exited the Symbolic Cave.
Another sorrowful love story unfolded before me. Watching Zhang Xiaoqian stand in front of me, I had no idea how to comfort her; this was something she had to handle on her own.
She remained silent for a long time before looking up at me and saying, "You helped me once, so I'll tell you something you definitely want to know."
"What?"
