As Shangguan Mingyue took the opportunity to escape, I quickly removed my jacket and draped it over her shoulders.

He furrowed his brows and replied, "Are you Shangguan Mingyue?"

I pulled Shangguan Mingyue behind me, watching Bai Qiling warily.

I exchanged a glance with Shangguan Mingyue, and in the end, we decided to go back.
After a whole three hours of fussing around, when we finally stood in front of the mirror again, we were shocked by the reflection staring back at us.

By the time we returned to the club, the people at the entrance didn't recognize us anymore. There was no choice but to call Da Han and have him come out to pick us up.
When he saw us, he didn't recognize us at all.

Caught in the act, I blinked and gave her a flirtatious smile.
She awkwardly pulled her clothes up and cursed, "What kind of ragged outfit is this? It's so revealing! Where is that Big Man taking us?"
"How would I know? We'll find out when we get there."
When the car finally stopped, I instantly understood why the Big Man had us dressed like this. To my surprise, he had managed to bring us to the Jin Family's estate—the very villa where Shangguan Mingyue and I had been fed half a mosquito earlier.
The tall man approached us with a beaming smile, "Ladies, are you satisfied with my arrangements?"
"Not bad, quite good," we replied in unison, showering him with compliments that made him beam with pride.
From the man, we learned that today was the one-month celebration of Jin Chengren's grandson, which was why such a grand banquet was being held. Jin Chengren intended to introduce a mysterious master to everyone, claiming that this master had brought his deceased grandson back to life.
Hearing this made me snort involuntarily. To come back from the dead? It sounded like something out of a fairy tale. Surely, Cao Jin must have used some sort of Illusion Technique to fool everyone, and then saved the child, allowing the Jin family to worship him as a living Buddha.
The Jin family had quite a reputation in H City, and many well-dressed guests filled the venue tonight, each exuding the aura of successful individuals.
As the banquet began, it was inevitable for the host to say a few words. Shangguan Mingyue and I patiently waited as Jin Dapang and Hu Haidi took their turns speaking. Finally, he got to the main point.
"Thank you all for coming today. I, Jin, have a mysterious expert I would like to introduce to everyone."
Since Jin Chengren had already mentioned this when he invited people over, many were aware of Master Cao and had come out of respect for him. As soon as he spoke, everyone began to applaud.
Although we felt uncomfortable inside, we still clapped along to avoid drawing attention.

The big man led us to find Jin Chengren. Given his status, it was easy for him to meet with Jin Chengren.

I learned for the first time that the big man's surname was Mu, just like Mu Xuanche. I had never asked him his name and had always referred to him as the big man.

Jin Chengren's gaze shifted from the big man to us as he raised his glass in our direction.

Jin Chengren smiled, looking completely at ease. "Sisters, Master Cao is not an ordinary person; you can't just meet him like this."
With that, he left with a smug expression, making me and Shangguan Mingyue nearly rush over to tear him apart in our anger.
This idiot had been sold out and didn't even realize it.
The three of us discussed our next steps and decided that Shangguan Mingyue and I would search this house to see if we could find anything. The big man would act as our lookout downstairs, ready to inform us of any news.
The villa had three floors. The first floor was the banquet hall we had just searched thoroughly, confirming there was nothing there.
Using the big man's cover, we made our way to the second floor.

She shook her head helplessly at me, indicating that she hadn’t found anything either.
As we set off for the Third Layer, just as we reached the upper floor, we heard soft moans coming from a room.
To prevent Cao Jin from noticing, I sent Bao to scout ahead.
Bao returned after a while, wrinkling his nose as he stopped in front of us.

Mingyue's reminder made me take a closer look at the woman. To my surprise, she was indeed the daughter-in-law of the Jin Family, the one I had just seen downstairs holding a child.
Now, here she was, entangled with Cao Jin. This was too much.
"Who?"
A harsh voice shouted from inside, and my heart instantly stopped.
