As Lan Qin slowly sat up, Dragon Jade couldn't help but smile bitterly. "Sister, I'm just glad you're okay. Otherwise, I wouldn't know how to face Yaya."
Feeling inexplicably guilty, Lan Qin lowered her head and stopped looking at Dragon Jade.
"We had no choice but to use this method to bring you here. You wouldn't want your sister to die, would you? Don't you want to take her away from here?" Su Ruolan asked.
"It's useless. Milu is very powerful; we can't defeat her, and there's no way to escape." Dragon Jade looked somewhat sorrowful. "Moreover, she has nearly fifty subordinates, each with their own Ability, and they are backed by mysterious forces. Those who tried to escape before were caught and met terrible fates. I don't want my sister to end up like that."
"Although her subordinates are numerous, their Abilities aren't very high. My people can handle them. The biggest problem is Milu. Her Black Gold Whip is quite troublesome; if only we could disable it. You mentioned earlier that she has mysterious forces supporting her—what do you mean by that?" Su Ruolan listened carefully to Dragon Jade, analyzing the situation.
"Milu often interacts with some mysterious individuals. They come to extract those girls and provide supplies to Milu. There were attempts to oppose her and pull her down, but they were suppressed by these mysterious people. They are incredibly powerful and treat traitors with extreme cruelty." A flicker of fear crossed Dragon Jade's eyes as he spoke of the mysterious individuals, revealing just how harsh their methods were.
"It's becoming increasingly difficult to capture people; next time, Milu might not let your sister go. If you truly have the ability to save us, what do you need me to do?" Dragon Jade asked anxiously, looking earnestly at Su Ruolan.
"You should leave; this plan carries too much risk for you." Lan Qin suddenly looked up and fixed her gaze on Dragon Jade, interjecting, "Even though I hate you, I don't want you to die."
Surprised, Su Ruolan glanced at Lan Qin, as if she understood something and chose not to speak further.
"Honestly, after so long in this apocalypse, my family is probably long gone. Sister, if you die too, what meaning is there in my survival? What do you need me to do?" At that moment, Dragon Jade became resolute, looking steadily at Su Ruolan.
Hearing his words made Lan Qin's eyes suddenly well up with tears as she fell silent.
With a gentle sigh, Su Ruolan expressed her frustration with this damned apocalypse. "By the way, where's my other female companion? Where have you taken her?"
"There was only one female captured this time—you." After recalling the situation, Dragon Jade confirmed.
Su Ruolan felt reassured as she watched everyone reach a consensus, quickly finalizing the plan. The three of them discussed and confirmed every detail.
Dragon Jade opened the door and discreetly handed a packet of biscuits to the guard, smiling as she said, "Thank you, please keep an eye on things for me."
"Got it, got it," the guard replied, quickly accepting the gift and nodding with a grin.
As Dragon Jade left, Su Ruolan began to count the time in her mind. Dragon Jade was now off to inform Li Yuxuan and the others about the action plan while she herself would retrieve the Black Gold Whip. At this moment, Milu should be enjoying herself with those men; as long as she got the Black Gold Whip, they could all move.
Summoning Wood Vine, Su Ruolan shaped it into a human figure and placed it in a dark corner of the room, covering it with clothing. She made a 'K' gesture to Lan Qin, who nodded and moved closer to the figure, cleverly obscuring it so that from outside, only two overlapping shadows could be faintly seen.
"Ah!" Lan Qin suddenly screamed loudly.
"What now?" The guard knocked on the door, noticing that the noise inside hadn't stopped. Grumbling, he opened the door.
Su Ruolan leaped down from the roof and knocked out the guard with a thud. She handed a grenade to Lan Qin and instructed her on how to use it: "In case of danger, pull this pin and throw it outside."
After moving the guard to a bench at the door and placing a hat on him to cover his face, making him look like he was sleeping, she reassured Lan Qin, "There won't be anyone coming to change shifts for another hour; it's safest here for now. Just stay alert."
Lan Qin nodded while holding the grenade and moved to hide the dummy figure in the corner. "You stay alert too."
Su Ruolan closed the door behind her and rushed toward Milu's location. Fortunately, it was nighttime; taking advantage of Wood Vine's abilities, Su Ruolan swiftly glided above the rooftops. The brightest spot ahead must be where they were having fun.
"Wang Xiao, can't you make that fireball any bigger? It's so dark I can barely see it! Sun Tao, your name has 'Tao' in it but there's no feeling at all; this water column is just like that," Milu complained while sitting on stage with one handsome young man on her left and another on her right. She occasionally kissed one or playfully touched the other, thoroughly enjoying herself.
In the center of the stage, two men were competing using their abilities; fireballs clashed against water columns in a back-and-forth display. Both of their faces were flushed, veins bulging at their temples.
"Forget it, forget it. This is so boring. Everyone disperse," Milu said, feeling a bit disheartened as she watched the match below that had yet to determine a winner. "Send those two new captures to my room."
"Lulu, please don't go looking for them. You don't like watching Wang Xiao and Sun Tao compete. How about I transform some flowers for you? Lots of flowers, okay?" Peng Bo began to whine again, revealing a hint of genuine affection for Milu.
"No, I'm tired of your old tricks. I want those two newcomers tonight. Dragon Jade, you go and bring those two to my room," Milu said, clearly displeased with Peng Bo's public rebuttal.
Dragon Jade felt a jolt of surprise but dared not show it on his face as he reluctantly left the scene.
Seeing this change in plans, Su Ruolan quietly followed behind Dragon Jade to find Li Yuxuan and the others.
Upon entering a large room, Su Ruolan was stunned by what she saw through the barred windows. Inside were over ten handsome young men of various types: muscular, slender, refined, youthful, and charmingly sinister. Though they looked starved, their original handsome features were still evident.
As soon as Dragon Jade entered, someone sneered, "The eunuch who aids tyranny has arrived again. Who are you taking to serve your master this time?"
Ignoring the comment, Dragon Jade pointed at Li Yuxuan and Kong Xiang, instructing the armed soldiers behind him, "Take them away."
Dragon Jade led Li Yuxuan and Kong Xiang toward Milu's room, feeling an immense sense of urgency as he couldn't communicate in front of the soldiers.
"Kong Xiang, it's me, Ruo Lan," Su Ruolan called out in her mind as she got closer to Kong Xiang.
"Sister Ruo Lan! Great to hear from you; are you alright?" Kong Xiang and Cheng Xi replied in unison within her mind, startling Su Ruolan.
"Cheng Xi, where are you?" Su Ruolan asked excitedly.
"Kong Xiang made me invisible; I'm right next to him," Cheng Xi whispered.
"Good, I'm glad you're okay. Time is tight. Cheng Xi, when we get there, connect with Dragon Jade—the man leading us—he's our ally. Ask him to take you to find the others while I deal with Milu. Kong Xiang, can you make me invisible?" Su Ruolan immediately began planning their next move.
"Sister Ruo Lan, your ability is higher than mine. I can manage within a meter, but beyond that, it's not possible," Kong Xiang attempted to clarify.
"Alright, there's a corner ahead. Let's switch places," Su Ruolan said to Cheng Xi and Kong Xiang.
Kong Xiang tugged at Dragon Jade and gave him a knowing glance before throwing a punch. Li Yuxuan, confused, followed suit and threw a punch as well. Seeing the look from Kong Xiang, Dragon Jade, though unsure of its meaning, had no choice but to cooperate and joined in with Li Yuxuan. Behind them, an Armed Soldier noticed the sudden brawl and rushed forward to join the fray. Taking advantage of the chaos, Kong Xiang slipped to the side while Cheng Xi was pulled by Su Ruolan's Wood Vine, landing on a wooden beam in the corridor. Su Ruolan quickly moved to stand beside Kong Xiang.
Dragon Jade and Li Yuxuan were also pulled apart by the soldiers.
"What's wrong with you? You asking for a beating?" one of the armed soldiers prepared to strike Li Yuxuan with his rifle butt.
"Forget it, forget it. We might all be brothers in the future, so let him off this time," Dragon Jade interjected, blocking the rifle butt with his hand and spitting out some blood.
"Brothers? I’m not as lucky as you guys to be favored by Milu. Let’s go, White Face," the Armed Soldier scoffed, filled with disdain and jealousy.
Su Ruolan watched as the Armed Soldier approached her, closing in at five meters, four meters, three meters before brushing past him and pushing Kong Xiang from behind. "Hurry up and move; don’t cause me more trouble."
"Sister Ruo Lan, you scared me! I thought I had failed and been discovered," Kong Xiang said as he walked forward, speaking in his mind.
"I have faith in you; we’ll be relying on you from here on," Su Ruolan encouraged him with a pat on the shoulder.
