“Young Commander, should we pause or continue the attack?” Xu Qiubai inquired. 0

“Attack at all costs; we must capture H Base,” Zhang Yumo declared, her eyes filled with determination. “Qin Zhi Han, I refuse to believe that I cannot defeat you.” 0

The vanguard of S Base charged toward the city gates, rifles in hand, only to be met with an eerie silence from the walls above. No bullets were fired, and not a single soul was visible. The Vanguard Unit opened the gates, forming lines to welcome the main force into the city. As they gazed upon the blood-soaked walls, Zhang Yu felt a swell of pride. “Qin Zhi Han, no matter how strong your abilities are, you cannot surpass me.” 0

“Young Commander, we have checked; there is no sign of Qin Zhi Han’s body,” Xu Qiubai reported. 0

“Seal off the entire city; we must find him. Anyone harboring him will be executed without mercy,” Zhang Yu ordered coldly. 0

The scene was one of utter darkness. Within H Base, roads lay in ruins, skyscrapers collapsed, and chaos reigned. Many civilians hid in their homes; some prayed quietly for the conflict to end soon, while others displayed fear, clinging helplessly to their families. Some, filled with righteous anger, rushed out to assist the soldiers of Huaxia Four Corps in repelling the enemy. Others wished to escape but were held back by family members, their loved ones shaking their heads with tears in their eyes, forcing them to abandon their desires. Wealthy families sought mercenaries or hired guards for protection, displaying a range of emotions from fear to calmness to rage. Life presented a myriad of faces. 0

Zhang Yu dispatched troops to take full control of H Base, marking a failure for the uprising attempts of Huaxia Four Corps to establish a solid base here. 0

Back in the conference room of the Administrative Building, looking at the empty space, Zhang Yu suddenly recalled a month ago when he had discussed strategies with Qin Zhi Han to resolve the siege by zombies. Who would have thought that circumstances would shift so drastically, leading them to opposite sides? Where was Su Ruolan now? Was she still with him? Observing this easily won victory left Zhang Yu feeling slightly despondent. In this apocalypse, there were few people worth noticing; if all the interesting ones were gone, how lonely it would be. 0

“Qiu Bai, come in,” Zhang Yu suddenly called out. 0

“Young Commander, what can I do for you?” Xu Qiubai pushed open the door and asked respectfully. He looked up at Zhang Yu, suppressing a flicker of fervor in his gaze. 0

“Send out orders to capture Qin Zhi Han alive; he must not be harmed,” Zhang Yu said coldly. 0

“Young Commander, do you intend to deal with him personally? This guy is truly ungrateful; we should make an example of him so that others know the consequences of rebellion,” Xu Qiubai replied excitedly, instinctively feeling a conflict towards Qin Zhi Han. 0

“Leave now and report immediately if there’s any news,” Zhang Yu said dismissively. 0

Gazing out at the sparse stars in the night sky, Zhang Yu sincerely hoped that this apocalypse would end soon and that human society could return to civilization once more. 0

In the ward of the Ninth Hospital, the injured from S Base were being bandaged and treated. In one corner, a man with a dark complexion was missing his entire right arm, and his left thigh was wrapped in thick white gauze. He was tending to a comatose soldier, speaking little and moving lightly, almost like an invisible person. 0

"Hey, the one in the corner, come over to get your medicine," a medical team member said softly. 0

"Thank you, I've already received it," the dark-complexioned man replied. 0

"Oh, you've already gotten it? That's strange; I don't remember that," the medical team member scratched his head in confusion. 0

You've called me three times already. The dark-complexioned man thought to himself. He was Cyan Flame. Ever since Qin Zhi Han had overdrawn his ability, he had fallen into a deep sleep. With Qin Zhi Han's face being so recognizable, Cyan Flame had no choice but to disguise himself and Qin Zhi Han as injured personnel from S Base, temporarily hiding in the hospital. To prevent being exposed, Cyan Flame cast a spell that made their faces unmemorable; anyone who came into contact with them would not remember their appearance. 0

"Brother, who is the person lying down?" a wounded soldier leaning on a crutch approached and asked. 0

"He is my brother," Cyan Flame replied expressionlessly, looking down at the unconscious Qin Zhi Han. After a moment, he added quietly. 0

"Oh," the soldier said as he walked past Cyan Flame, offering comfort. "As long as you're alive, there's hope." 0

Qin Zhi Han, you were too reckless this time; when will you wake up? Cyan Flame felt frustrated inside, his face darkening further. 0

Zhang Yu was reconstructing order in H Base, continuing the governance philosophy of the Dai Government by implementing zoned management to maintain upper-class interests and restoring resource taxation systems while adhering to the law of the jungle. He gained support from wealthy families in H Base and quickly became well-known. Under Xu Qiubai's orders, all citizens who protested or resisted were imprisoned. Xu Qiubai harbored resentment towards Qin Zhi Han but could not find him; thus, he vented his frustrations on these citizens. 0

In the conference room, Zhang Yu was discussing matters with Xu Qiubai and others. H Base was gradually stabilizing, yet Qin Zhi Han remained missing. Zhang Yu did not intend to stay any longer and prepared to return to S Base. 0

"Younger Commander, there is an urgent military report. The Orange-Eyed Zombie that surrounded the city before has returned with nearly ten thousand zombies and is only 100 kilometers away from here. They are advancing quickly and are estimated to arrive in about seven hours," Zhang Shou reported anxiously. 0

"This is perfect timing; I was just thinking that we haven't had enough zombie kills lately," Zhang Yu said. "Everyone prepare well." 0

"However, Younger Commander, after the last siege, our ammunition has been severely depleted; we have no shells left and only 1,000 bullets remaining," Zhang Yan added. 0

“Qiu Bai, contact S Base immediately and have them send troops and ammunition. We will encircle these Zombies,” Zhang Yu commanded. 0

“Yes, I will send someone right away,” Xu Qiubai replied. 0

In the medical room, people were coming and going. Many lightly injured soldiers gathered and left in formation. 0

Cyan Flame quietly asked the soldier leaning on a crutch, “Brother, what’s going on?” 0

“I heard there are Zombies surrounding the city. All soldiers capable of fighting have returned to their posts. For us, we can only wait for news here. Is your brother still unconscious? Once the fighting starts, our lives won’t be guaranteed,” Crutch Soldier said with a hint of worry. 0

Cyan Flame looked at Qin Zhi Han and silently channeled energy into his body, hoping that he would awaken when the war broke out. 0

“Young Commander, the Zombies are less than 0 kilometers from the city gate,” Xu Qiubai reported. 0

“Good, A Group, move out,” Zhang Yu ordered as he studied the terrain model of H Base. 0

At the makeshift military site 0 kilometers outside the city, soldiers from S Base's A Group set up rifles and machine guns to open fire. Grenades were thrown into the crowd of Zombies. These Zombies ran quickly and exhibited some level of intelligence; they even knew how to dodge and lie down. Although many were injured by the explosions, more managed to evade them and charged forward with increased speed. 0

“Ah, what the hell? Have the Zombies evolved again?” Zhang Shou exclaimed as he assisted on-site. 0
