The result of a hangover was a splitting headache. Qin Zhi Han held his head, feeling as if a thousand mosquitoes were buzzing inside, wishing he could somehow zap them all away.
Before he could step out of the tent, he suddenly heard Bai Zhen's anxious voice from outside. "Captain, are you there? The Y Clan Leader requests your presence; there's an urgent military situation."
Qin Zhi Han immediately regained his composure, straightened his clothes, and walked out of the tent steadily. "What happened?"
"The Government Army has reached the outskirts of Y Base and wants to come in to search for the rebels. The Y Clan Leader has sent someone to negotiate with them; it seems they are discussing our departure," Bai Zhen reported as they walked together.
As they passed through the hall, they encountered Su Ruolan, who had hurried over. Qin Zhi Han and Su Ruolan exchanged smiles and entered the Conference Hall together. This eased Bai Zhen's mind; although Qin Zhi Han had pretended everything was fine last night, he knew better—Qin Zhi Han was injured. He had worried that their meeting might be awkward, but thankfully both acted normally, just like before.
"Captain Qin, Commander Su, I sincerely apologize for summoning you so early. I believe your team has already heard that the Government Army is approaching Y Base and intends to search for rebels. Although the Han Official has completely withdrawn from Y Base, we still fall under government jurisdiction, so we have no reason to refuse them entry. Moreover, they are heavily armed; to avoid unnecessary trouble, I truly regret this, but please prepare to leave today. The Cloud Poison that was supposed to arrive hasn't shown up yet. I will ask Fengshan—Feng Ming's father—to guide you; he is skilled and experienced in climbing and can ensure your safe departure," the Y Clan Leader said as soon as he saw Qin Zhi Han and Su Ruolan enter.
"It's alright; we are extremely grateful for your permission to pass through. We will assemble our troops and set off immediately," Qin Zhi Han sincerely thanked the Y Clan Leader.
"Y Clan Leader, thank you for your assistance. I hope we meet again," Su Ruolan said as she turned to bid farewell.
"Ruo Lan, thank you for saving our family. Here’s a gift for you; it’s something I found a few years ago. I’m not sure what it is, but it seems to brighten one's spirit when worn. It's yours now," the White-Bearded Elder said as he pulled out a stone about the size of an egg and handed it to Su Ruolan.
As soon as Su Ruolan saw it and before she could take it, Reset exclaimed excitedly in her mind, "Ruo Lan, quickly accept it! I sense there’s some source energy within. Ask him where he found it and if there are more; we should go take a look."
Su Ruolan initially wanted to refuse but hurriedly accepted it solemnly instead and asked, "May I ask where you discovered this?"
"I don't know either. It was a Cloud Poison that arose in the mountains, and I stumbled upon it by chance. Thanks to it, I was able to survive and return from that miasma," the White-Bearded Elder said, stroking his beard and shaking his head.
"Thank you. By the way, this is rice for Feng Ming; you can cook porridge for him," Su Ruolan recalled the White-Bearded Elder's craving for Feng Ming's rice porridge. Using her backpack as a cover, she took out ten pounds of rice produced from her space.
"Ah, this is quite a treasure! I won't be polite; I'll accept it," the White-Bearded Elder happily took it, thinking he had struck gold. Even if what he gave was useful, it couldn't compare to the value of resources. That girl Ruo Lan was truly generous.
The Y Clan Leader, the White-Haired Clan Elder, and Yan'er all presented gifts to Su Ruolan, who reciprocated each one sincerely.
Bai Zhen joked, "Our Su team is truly a wealthy lady; we should cling tightly to this big tree."
The Y Clan Leader gifted a jade pendant he carried with him to Qin Zhi Han, saying, "What I just said was from the perspective of the Yan Tribe; I hope you can understand. Although we have known each other for a short time, it feels like we are brothers. This is my eighteenth birthday gift to you; may your journey be smooth!"
"I understand," Qin Zhi Han replied, gripping the Y Clan Leader's hand tightly. He then removed his wristwatch and handed it to him. "Live well; we'll meet again in the new era."
