When Su Ruolan stepped out of the car, the soldiers hidden in the shadows brightened with excitement. “Deputy Shao, it’s Miss Su.”
“Miss Su, it’s you!”
“Miss Su, don’t attack! It’s me, Shao Jie.” Shao Jie raised his hands and slowly emerged from the darkness. “I’m really sorry; we were planning to catch a big fish and didn’t expect to hurt our own people. I truly apologize.”
Seeing someone come out, Qin Zhi Han and the others, who were ready to attack, halted at the familiar voice.
“Captain, it’s the Huaxia Corps!” Upon hearing Shao Jie’s voice, Su Ruolan was overjoyed; she had finally caught up with this team.
“What? The Huaxia Corps? That’s great! We finally meet.” Many soldiers from the Huaxia Four Corps were a bit dazed; it felt like chasing a dream that suddenly appeared right in front of them when they thought it was still far away—so unexpected and delightful.
At this moment, Ma Commander and Zhang Deputy Commander felt quite complicated emotions. They hoped to meet soon but feared that the outcome might not be satisfactory. Regardless, a conclusion was necessary. What was meant to come would come.
“Deputy Shao, hello! Is Qin Uncle here?” Su Ruolan happily shook hands with Shao Jie, asking eagerly.
“Captain is inside. Miss Su, you’re impressive! After some time apart, you’ve managed to gather such a large team. This equipment is certainly not weak at all. I thought it was the elite from G Base,” Shao Jie joked.
“Oh, I don’t have that kind of ability to gather such a big team. But you’re right about one thing; these vehicles were indeed sent by people from G Base. I really hope they can prepare more good stuff,” Su Ruolan replied playfully.
“This way, please.” Shao Jie led the way while Su Ruolan followed behind.
“Ruo Lan, you’re here,” Captain Qin said, clearly delighted to see Su Ruolan.
“Yes, Qin Uncle, I’m so happy to catch up with you. By the way, I brought some friends along. They’re eager to meet you; I hope it’s convenient?” Su Ruolan felt a genuine joy seeing the kind yet imposing Qin Uncle.
“Oh, your friends want to meet me? Of course, they can! Please invite them in,” Qin Uncle said, raising an eyebrow and waving his hand with great enthusiasm.
Outside the tent, Qin Zhi Han, Ma Commander, and Zhang Deputy Commander were all a bit excited. When they entered the tent and saw Qin Uncle, all three were momentarily stunned. This man looked incredibly familiar. Su Ruolan gazed at the person before her and suddenly realized, “Qin Uncle, are you and our Captain related? You look so much alike.”
Ma Commander and Zhang Deputy Commander also appeared puzzled. Individually, they might not have noticed the resemblance, but when Qin Zhi Han stood beside Qin Uncle in the same space, the similarity was undeniable—especially since Qin Zhi Han looked like a younger version of Qin Uncle.
“Haha, what’s this friend’s name? If I had a son, he should be around your age,” Qin Uncle remarked as he looked at Qin Zhi Han, clearly intrigued.
“Captain Qin, hello. I’m Qin Zhi Han. Since I live with my mother, I probably won’t have the honor of being your son,” Qin Zhi Han replied with a smile.
“Oh really? Then who is your mother? Perhaps she’s from our hometown as well,” Qin Uncle continued to engage in friendly conversation.
“My mother is Xia Huizhong,” Qin Zhi Han stated calmly.
“What?” Qin Uncle’s expression changed dramatically as he asked urgently, “Were you born in the year 0?”
“Yes, how did you know? Do you really know my mother?” Qin Zhi Han began to doubt; could it be that he and Qin Uncle were indeed relatives?
“Is your name Qin Zhi Han?” Qin Uncle suddenly asked excitedly. When he saw Qin Zhi Han nodding in affirmation, he couldn’t help but clench his fists in excitement. “You are my son; I am your father.”
"You are my father?" Qin Zhi Han was stunned. "Could you be Qin Wujiao?"
