"Do you really think I'm just a decoration?" Zhan Yixiao stepped forward and kicked Jiang Zhisen hard. "Don't hurt the Captain; if you have the guts, come at me!" The Square-Faced Man shouted from the ground.
Jiang Zhisen looked at Zhan Yixiao in disbelief. A Zombie could actually talk! It was terrifying! No matter how bloody the scene was, no matter who lived or died, that girl remained expressionless and unfazed, much like a puppet. If it weren't for her breathing, she could easily be mistaken for a humanized Zombie.
"You are truly pathetic, completely unaware of your subordinate's intentions. He wants to save you, yet you shot him. What kind of heart do you have? You've harmed countless people; you should have died long ago." Zhan Yixiao glanced at the Square-Faced Man and then at Jiang Zhisen with disdain. For such trash, she felt that wasting any emotion on him was an insult to herself. She was ready to eliminate him and end this feud.
"Don't kill him! He really knows a secret about Zombies. If you let him go, he can tell you, Captain, right? If you promise to let the Captain go, he will definitely tell you. Please, Captain, just say it; as long as we have our lives, we can rise again. Captain, don't forget your revenge." The Square-Faced Man struggled to lift his head from the ground, pleading with Zhan Yixiao and Jiang Zhisen.
Jiang Zhisen's expression shifted unpredictably as he looked at Zhan Yixiao and suddenly asked, "Why do you want to kill me?"
"Do I need a reason to kill you? What Zombie doesn't kill?" Zhan Yixiao replied, noticing that Jiang Zhisen didn't recognize her. She changed her approach and looked at the Square-Faced Man, who seemed desperate for that secret. It appeared there was something important at stake; if this information had value, she could let him go this once.
"If the information you provide is truly useful, I will spare you this time."
"How do I know if your word is trustworthy? What if I tell you and you go back on your word?" Jiang Zhisen countered.
"If you lie even once, I will still let you go? Unless you guarantee that this information is worth saving your life." Looking at Jiang Zhisen and the Square-Faced Man's expressions, it seemed they might have discovered something significant.
"Then let's all swear together. I guarantee what I say is absolutely true. As long as I speak, you and all your subordinates present must let me go." Jiang Zhisen said cunningly.
"Alright, I agree." Both Zhan Yixiao and Jiang Zhisen swore simultaneously.
"I've discovered the secret to unlocking the Zombie Virus in this girl. She was bitten by a Zombie but did not turn into one." Jiang Zhisen suddenly pulled the girl behind him forward.
"What?" Zhan Yixiao was shocked; if this were true, then Xiaowei might be saved!
"You can leave now; I'll let you go this time. This girl stays." Jiang Zhisen said happily as he walked over to help the Square-Faced Man up. "Let's go."
Zhan Yixiao signaled one of the Zombie Captains and led the other Zombies along with the girl quickly towards H Base. Although she couldn't kill Jiang Zhisen, if she could save Xiaowei, it would all be worth it.
Watching all the Zombies retreat successfully, Jiang Zhisen and the Square-Faced Man exchanged relieved glances. Looking at the bloodstains on his right leg, Jiang Zhisen felt a bit guilty. "It's my fault this time; I shouldn't have doubted you."
"Captain, it's also my fault for not doing enough. As long as we have that secret, Captain, you'll definitely get another chance. You will succeed." The Square-Faced Man looked unbothered and willing to sacrifice everything for Jiang Zhisen. "But Captain, did you really tell them all the secrets? What if that woman isn't around?"
