Su Ruolan looked at the surprised Zhan Yixiao, feeling a bit confused. However, when she saw the girl behind Zhan Yixiao, an unusual feeling arose in her heart; this girl bore some resemblance to her. "What is going on?"
"Ruo Lan, I found a way to save Wei. Look at this girl, Jiang Zhisen; her blood holds the secret to the Antidote for Zombies," Zhan Yixiao said excitedly to Su Ruolan.
"Blood?" Su Ruolan stepped forward in confusion, using her healing ability to probe into the girl's body, and was instantly astonished.
"Ruo Lan, the energy within her is very strange; it’s quite similar to yours," Reset remarked, sensing that oddity.
Su Ruolan felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity from the energy within the girl. What could it mean?
Wei had been relying on Zhan Yixiao's blood and Su Ruolan's ability to balance the Zombie Virus within her body. After hearing about Zhan Yixiao's discovery, Su Ruolan decided to take a small sample of the girl's blood for an experiment on Wei.
"Hello, may I ask what your name is?" Su Ruolan gently conversed with the girl.
The girl merely stared blankly at Su Ruolan, expressionless and silent. Zhan Yixiao shook his head beside her. "It's no use; I've asked her many questions along the way, but she hasn’t said a word. It's as if she's just a fool."
Su Ruolan pondered and said, "Hello, I would like to discuss something with you. My daughter is in great danger. Could I take a little blood from you? I will offer compensation as thanks; I promise I won’t harm your life."
The girl remained expressionless and silent.
Desperation set in; if it weren't for her still being alive and breathing, she would seem like a walking corpse.
Su Ruolan carefully collected a small sample of blood from her and then provided her with plenty of supplements and food. With great caution, she injected the blood into Wei's body while continuously using her healing ability to protect her. Initially, the effect was very apparent; the Zombie Virus was pushed back, retreating to one area within Wei's body. Under Su Ruolan's guidance, Wei gradually directed the virus from her internal organs toward her limbs. Just as the virus began to flow for a while, it suddenly retreated again, returning to its previous state. The only difference was that the girl's blood had once pushed back the Zombie Virus, which left Su Ruolan—who had been so hopeful and excited—feeling very dejected. How could this happen?!
In order to save Wei, Su Ruolan had to work hard on her research, trying to keep the young girl plump and healthy, hoping to ask her for a blood donation after some time. To achieve this, she continuously raised the standards of their meals, indulging Kong Xiang and Cheng Xi's appetites. The girl was fed well during lunch every day, with the hope that she would be in the best condition.
After another blood draw, the results were still the same as the first time. Su Ruolan and Zhan Yixiao were both bewildered. What secret did this girl's blood hold? Were they going about it the wrong way?
Before they could come to any conclusions, disaster struck. The girl suddenly turned pale, her spirit waning, and she fell into a coma. Su Ruolan checked her condition and felt that the mysterious power within her was dissipating rapidly, as if a once vibrant and lush woman had been dried out by the wind, becoming breathless and desiccated. No matter what they did, they could not awaken her. After three days in a coma, she naturally succumbed to death. Yes, this was so far the only case of natural death without a head explosion or mutation into a Zombie.
However, this outcome held no meaning for Su Ruolan and the others; they were hoping to find a way to save Wei, not to let her die a human death.
