The girl's death came suddenly, leaving Su Ruolan and Zhan Yixiao in shock. They had no mental preparation, no warning signs, and no means of rescue. The girl had only undergone blood tests twice, with a significant gap between them. Under normal circumstances, this should not have affected her health, yet she passed away without any indication, revealing that she was not an ordinary person. After extensive research and consideration of every detail, they concluded that her body was exceptionally fragile and could not withstand any external infections. It was highly likely that the blood collection equipment was not sterile enough, but who could say for sure?
Wei's life was once again in jeopardy. The girl's blood had run out, and all the Zombie Virus continued to invade Wei's body like cancer cells, even more aggressively than before. This poor child could no longer eat; her face was pale and gray, her fingernails elongated, and her sharp canine teeth were barely visible.
"Ruo Lan, try using your blood. I feel like the energy within that girl is somewhat similar to yours; it seems to originate from the same source," Reset said, looking at the anxious Su Ruolan with deep sympathy, unable to hold back the hidden truth any longer.
"Really? You also think that girl resembles me? When I entered her body to investigate, I felt an odd familiarity," Su Ruolan admitted.
"Yes, Ruo Lan. There's something I think you should know. I even believe that girl is like your Clone; your cells, blood, and DNA are too similar," Reset dropped another heavy revelation.
"Clone?" Su Ruolan gasped in horror. Who would replicate her? Why had she come back to life? What was going on? A sense of dread crawled over her like countless invisible insects.
"Ruo Lan, please save Wei! Think of a way; you're her mother! How young is Wei? I don't want her to end up like me," Zhan Yixiao said, watching Wei struggle in pain. Emotionally devastated yet physically unresponsive, he felt utterly despondent—unable to experience joy or sorrow made life terrifying.
"Let me try again," Su Ruolan said after asking Zhan Yixiao to step aside. Gritting her teeth and steeling herself, she resolved that if this was all a conspiracy, she must act regardless. She owed too much to Wei; the child was innocent.
Su Ruolan used an ice blade to cut her arm and directly dripped her blood into Wei's mouth, feeding the suffering child drop by drop. Wei reacted to the fresh blood; Su Ruolan's blood had a deadly allure for her as she gulped it down eagerly.
Su Ruolan continued until her vision darkened and she could no longer contain the flowing blood. After a long while, she sensed within Wei's body and was astonished to find that the Zombie Virus had stopped spreading as if it had lost its vitality.
Since her rebirth, she had never lost so much blood at once; Su Ruolan fainted. Her face twisted in pain as if trapped in some unpleasant memory. However, Reset, Kong Xiang, Cheng Xi, and Bat King in the room could not reach her through their spiritual connection.
In the room, Wei lay quietly on the bed while Su Ruolan rested anxiously beside her.
Many overlooked things reappeared once again in the strange place of rebirth, the Underground Corridor. A voice kept calling in her ear, "Come back quickly, come back, come back."
