Su Ruolan looked at the mysterious architectural complex before her and took a deep breath. She had finally arrived. What secrets lay hidden here? This time, she was determined to uncover everything.
As Su Ruolan stepped through the entrance, Qin Zhi Han appeared at the door, looking flustered. "I finally found it! The formation at the entrance is really strange; thank goodness for you."
"Yes, this place isn't something just anyone can enter. If I hadn't sensed the abnormal magnetic field here, I wouldn't have found a way in. Has Ruo Lan arrived yet?" Cyan Flame said, still feeling uneasy.
"I feel like she’s already here. Let’s go find her," Qin Zhi Han said, an inexplicable sense of certainty washing over him, especially in this place where that familiar feeling was even stronger.
Qin Zhi Han strode confidently into the building.
Nearby, Qi Runzhou was growing increasingly agitated as he watched Qin Zhi Han disappear into the entrance. It felt as if a time-space portal had cut everything off. After circling around countless times, he felt restless and anxious.
"Runzhou, stop! I'm feeling dizzy and about to throw up," Kang Wanying shouted urgently at Qi Runzhou, unable to suppress her churning stomach any longer.
Seeing Kang Wanying's pale face, Qi Runzhou had no choice but to halt.
Kang Wanying abruptly pushed open the door and got out of the car, covering her mouth as she retched violently.
Watching Kang Wanying in pain made Qi Runzhou feel guilty. "I told you not to come along; it would have been much more comfortable to stay at the base."
"I had to come! She might be Sister Ruo Lan! I'm so excited! If it really is Sister Ruo Lan, we can bring her home together; she will definitely agree," Kang Wanying said, wiping away the remnants of her sickness while looking at Qi Runzhou with tear-filled eyes.
Looking at Kang Wanying's face, which had grown thinner and paler, Qi Runzhou couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy. "Let's take a break for a while."
He got into the car and handed some food to Kang Wanying. When she saw it was another pack of compressed biscuits, she felt a slight worry. They were so dry that they were nearly impossible to swallow. The child needed nutrition the most in these past few months, and they had been on the road for days, with inadequate food and rest. Her stomach ached slightly. She hoped the child was strong enough and that nothing would go wrong.
In the vast Dragon Tiger Mountain Range, Xu Qiubai led a group forward, with two Zombies chained in the midst of them. One male Zombie had already lost all four limbs, its large head glaring angrily at Xu Qiubai. "Scum," it spat. The other Female Zombie seemed a bit more dazed.
"Still have the strength to curse at me? Do you want me to rip your insides out?" Xu Qiubai mocked, making a slicing gesture as he spoke. "Should I dismantle her like this too?"
"Do you dare?" The male Zombie tugged at its chains in anger, but without limbs, it resembled a terrifying Halloween monster.
"A Zombie is just a Zombie. If Zombies have feelings, what difference does that make from humans?" Xu Qiubai said as he plunged a sharp blade into the male Zombie's body. "Where did the Orange-Eyed Zombie take that girl?"
The male Zombie lifted its head in pain; despite its grotesque appearance, one could vaguely recognize its features. Suddenly, it was one of Zhan Yixiao's five captains.
"Not yet? You've led me in circles long enough; did you think someone would come to rescue you?" Xu Qiubai finally lost his patience and raised his knife to chop off the Female Zombie's thigh.
The Female Zombie let out a piercing scream.
"Don't hurt her. She knows nothing," the male Zombie shouted.
"Three." Ignoring the male Zombie's fury, Xu Qiubai brought down his knife again, severing another leg from the Female Zombie.
"Please, don't! I'm begging you," the male Zombie pleaded, no longer angry but desperate.
"Two." With a swift motion, two arms fell to the ground. As the knife was about to strike the head of the Female Zombie, a voice called out, "Stop, me."
