In the end, unable to bear it any longer, the female zombie's last chance was extinguished. The male zombie finally compromised, saying, "You give me a car and let us go, and I will..."
Xu Qiubai halted his attack and nodded at a soldier.
Soon, a vehicle approached. "Lift us up; this person will be our driver. If you let us go, I will tell you everything," the male zombie insisted, looking at Xu Qiubai, holding onto his final line.
"Alright, take them to the side of H Base," Xu Qiubai instructed the soldier.
Once everything was arranged, Xu Qiubai leaned down to look at the male zombie. "You’re good to go now; don’t try any tricks."
Sitting in the passenger seat, the male zombie saw that everything had indeed been arranged as he wished and decided not to hide anything further. "She went to a base just ahead; there’s a secret about an Antidote for Zombies inside."
"Where? What’s the exact location?" Xu Qiubai assumed the male zombie was referring to an experimental subject.
The male zombie thought he was asking about Su Ruolan. "I heard them talking; it's a secret complex, a supermarket. There she met Qin Zhi Han and Zhang Yu."
Xu Qiubai suddenly recalled the scene from when he first met Su Ruolan. Could it be that the experimental subjects also came from there? This was truly bizarre; it seemed he could never escape Su Ruolan's shadow!
"Alright, you can go now," Xu Qiubai generously allowed the male zombie to leave.

"Captain, we've finally eliminated the spy that Fang Nan planted. I kept feeling like we were being tailed. If it weren't for that connection, I wouldn't have noticed; they were well hidden," reported one of the commanders.
"Indeed, those who eat from both sides will not have a good end," Xu Qiubai said ominously as he looked at the wreckage of the car. "Fang Nan, having offended me, you won't have a good ending either." The thought of Young Commander’s unwavering trust in Fang Nan made Xu Qiubai's heart ache. He had been by his side the longest, loyal and steadfast; why was he always overlooked? First it was Qin Zhi Han, then that woman Su Ruolan, and now Fang Nan—why had he never been considered?
Recalling what Xu Bo and Fang Huijuan had told him about the sacrifices Young Commander made for Su Ruolan only fueled his resentment. Why should Young Commander look at her differently? She was just an ordinary woman. If he could uncover that secret, surely Young Commander would value him more; he couldn't be ignored any longer or he would truly go mad!
Xu Qiubai led his team toward a place etched in his memory.
In the distance, outside the public area, Fang Nan, wearing surveillance headphones, suddenly felt his head buzzing from the deafening sound of cannon fire. Bad luck—the infiltrator sent to Xu Qiubai's side was dead. That thunderous noise must have been a warning.
"Young Commander, the signal has disappeared. It’s likely that Number Seven has been discovered and executed," Fang Nan said helplessly.
After getting out of the car and surveying the surroundings, Zhang Yu wondered aloud, "I've been here before; it's strange why we would come back."
This road left a deep impression on him; it was here that he had been attacked by mutated birds while lying in his car, teetering between life and death until Su Ruolan saved him—along with a series of events that followed.
Zhang Yu got back into the car, his long coat billowing in the wind, making him look exceptionally suave. "I know where they went; follow me."
