Although he had suspected it for a while, this was the first time she had openly acknowledged it without any reservations. Qin Zhi Han felt that he had taken a significant step closer to her heart.

Just as Su Ruolan and Qin Zhi Han descended the underground staircase, Xu Qiubai, Zhang Yu, Fang Nan, Qi Runzhou, and Kang Wanying entered the complex.
Could this place be Jiang Zhilin's Squad's secret experimental base? Everything here seemed so well-equipped—laboratories, dormitories, a cafeteria, and even a boxing ring. The three groups entered through different entrances and began their explorations. Each location they visited left them astonished; despite being abandoned, the remnants indicated that it was remarkably advanced.
Zhang Yu suddenly stumbled into a laboratory and nearly vomited at the sight inside. On one surgical table lay a severed human torso, both arms completely cut off, with the abdomen wide open and devoid of organs. Another table held a skull connected to the upper half of a body, but the cranial cavity was opened and the brain was missing.
It was horrifying and terrifying. There were also various dismembered limbs and organs preserved in unknown solutions, along with animal remains that had been dissected.
What on earth were they doing here? It felt so sinister and eerie.
At that moment, an arm reached out from behind and gently tapped Zhang Yu on the shoulder, startling him so much that he instinctively reacted with aggression before even turning around.
"Young Commander, it's me!" Xu Qiubai shouted as his arm was twisted behind his back.
"What are you doing here? You nearly scared me to death," Zhang Yu exhaled in relief upon recognizing Xu Qiubai.
"Young Commander, what brings you here?" Xu Qiubai asked excitedly. "Why are you alone? Don't you have any protection? It's so dangerous."
"I'm not alone; there's Fang Nan with me. By the way, have you seen him? He was just here," Zhang Yu said, turning his head and looking around curiously.
"No, I only see you," Xu Qiubai replied, feeling displeased to learn that Zhang Yu had come with Fang Nan.
It was a strange place, a bizarre scene. Where had Fang Nan gone?
Xu Qiubai and Zhang Yu began searching, opening one room after another, but they found no one alive. Xu Qiubai's expression grew increasingly grim, his gaze darkening. Suddenly, he pushed Zhang Yu to the ground and pinned him down. "Young Commander, why do you care so much about others? Why can’t you ever see me?"
Zhang Yu was taken aback, trying hard to get up when suddenly he felt a chill at his neck followed by a sharp pain. Xu Qiubai had bitten down on him and then gently licked the spot where he had bitten.
"Since my kindness has always gone unnoticed, let me make sure you remember it this way," Xu Qiubai murmured as he secured Zhang Yu's hands behind him with a belt.
