Once Su Ruolan resolved all matters concerning Su Bao and Wei, she and Qin Zhi Han discussed their plans to venture out. During this time, they had kept a low profile, gathering strength and preparing for a fresh start.
Su Ruolan now aimed to accomplish three things: first, to locate the person with the mutated bloodline and once again activate the secret formation from years ago to eliminate the threat of the Zombie Virus to humanity. Second, she needed to find her brother Shu Ruo Lan, fulfilling the promise made to him and their parents long ago. Third, she sought to track down the Disfigured Guardian from that time.
All these matters required urgent resolution.
Qin Zhi Han watched as Su Ruolan packed her belongings, preparing to leave, feeling a twinge of reluctance. Here lay the testament of their feelings. This rare tranquility brought him immense peace.
Yet, this sense of ease was shattered by the chaos of the outside world. The sights were filled with conflict and turmoil.
At this moment, a message spread throughout the human realm: "Shu Ruolan, you better show up quickly; otherwise, your only relative Shu Ruo Lan will never be seen again."
Su Ruolan felt a surge of joy upon receiving news of Shu Ruo Lan, even if it was not particularly good news.
"I'll go to B Base and rescue Shu Ruo Lan. You return to the Huaxia Army and gain their trust. We’ll prepare to work together from within and without to completely overthrow Jiang Zhilin's tyranny."
Qin Zhi Han looked at Su Ruolan, silent for a moment before stepping forward and giving her a deep kiss. "Take care," he said before turning away without looking back.
Watching Qin Zhi Han's retreating figure, Su Ruolan felt a sudden pang of reluctance. After spending so much time together, her feelings had grown deep and unbidden; this man had already carved a place in her heart. The abrupt separation left her feeling unaccustomed even before he had gone far.
But the world remained tumultuous, each person burdened with their own missions that needed completion—there was little time for sentimental reflections.
This time, they could not act together.
"Monet, return to your original place and gather your brothers. This is the water in the space. If we can strengthen the wolf cubs and develop their abilities, we will have an army of mutated beasts," Su Ruolan said to Monet.
"Master, can I go with him?" Cheng Xi asked.
"Monet, what about you?" Su Ruolan teased as she looked at Monet.
Cheng Xi gazed at Monet with anticipation. After spending these past few months together, the bond between Monet and Cheng Xi had grown significantly.
"Of course, where else would you want to go?" Monet replied, his face slightly flushed as he spoke gruffly.
This was the first time Monet had clearly expressed himself in front of Su Ruolan. Cheng Xi, who had previously held no hope, now had bright eyes; indeed, Cold Mountain's fear of strong women had proven effective.
Cheng Xi excitedly hugged Monet in front of Su Ruolan and planted a kiss on him.
Monet jolted in surprise and immediately lifted Cheng Xi onto his back before transforming and running away.
Watching them disappear into the distance, Su Ruolan felt a surge of blessings for them.
"Mom, I want to see Brother Zhan Yixiao," Wei said to Su Ruolan.
Looking at Wei, who had blossomed into a graceful young lady, Su Ruolan saw the determination in her eyes. It reminded her of Qin Zhi Han's gaze, filled with emotion and affection. Wei was no longer an innocent child; she had become a budding young woman with her own thoughts and someone she cared about.
"Mom, let's accompany sister. That way you won't have to worry; we will protect her safety," Bat King said, seemingly sensing Su Ruolan's dilemma.
"Sister Ruo Lan, let them go. Everyone has their own opportunities," Kong Xiang said.
