"Be careful, there are Zombies inside!" Wang Chao whispered. The two nodded in response, and with their support, Wang Chao regained some strength. As this thought crossed his mind, he instinctively wanted to charge forward, but the old man had already turned to look at Wang Chao, his expression clearly not one that a Zombie could make—he looked as if he had just swallowed a fly.
"Don't be impulsive! I'm not a Zombie—at least not yet!" the old man shouted.
As he spoke, the old man grabbed a dagger from beside the bed. It was long—about thirty centimeters—with a sleek blade adorned with intricate patterns that made it look exquisite. In one swift motion, he slashed the Zombie woman's throat, yet not a single drop of blood was visible on the blade. "What a fine knife!" Wang Chao couldn't help but exclaim. The old man chuckled and sheathed the dagger before tossing it over.
"It is indeed a good knife. I never thought of selling it when I needed food; now it's yours," the old man said.
Wang Chao and Ling Kong received it and examined the knife carefully for a while before Wang Chao finally tucked it into his waistband.
"However, old man, if I'm not mistaken, you were just... with that Zombie?" Wang Chao could hardly believe his eyes. The fact that this old man was about to become a Zombie while enjoying his last moments should have been a tragic story. Listening to him made Wang Chao feel like this was the pinnacle of being single—a tale that would bring tears to anyone who heard it. He swung his knife again, severing all three dog heads.
And at that moment, the old man also breathed his last.
