"You said you would come back. You made me wait for you in the capital. Why did you break your promise?" In a daze, Wang Chao heard a voice echoing in his mind; it was Yang Mengying's voice. "Uncle, you lied to me again. You said you would never leave me. I only have you as my family." Yiyi's sobbing also rang in Wang Chao's ears. "Run, run..." Da Qiang's angry and unwilling voice sounded next. "Brother Wang, Da Qiang is also my brother," came Ouyang En's voice. "As a member of the Lei Family, even if I'm down below, I will carve out a place for myself!" This was Old Lei's voice...
Countless voices overlapped in Wang Chao's head, and he clutched his head with both hands, striking it repeatedly as if trying to beat those voices out of his mind. However, the sounds only grew louder and more intense, eventually becoming a massive hammer that relentlessly struck his brain. Unable to endure any longer, Wang Chao let out a roar and opened his eyes wide.
The same overlapping zombies surrounded him, with a small patch of blue sky and white clouds above. But to Wang Chao, everything appeared blood-red. If someone had looked closely, they would have noticed that Wang Chao's pupils were blood-red too, with a strange symbol inexplicably appearing around the edges, shimmering with silver light. "Kill, kill, kill!" The only thought in Wang Chao's mind was this single word.
Suddenly, countless Bone Knives shot out from Wang Chao's body, piercing through the surrounding zombies before retracting back. In an instant, the area around him was cleared of zombies, leaving behind a sea of their corpses. More zombies surged forward from behind. With eyes that seemed ready to bleed, Wang Chao fixed his gaze on the approaching zombies and roared as he extended his hands; his flesh quickly dissolved to reveal stark white bones.
Wang Chao looked at his hands with dissatisfaction. With a thought, the bones elongated and transformed into a true Bone Knife. He charged forward, right hand raised with the Bone Knife levelled up high. As he ran, rows of zombie heads rolled away from him; the surrounding zombies simply couldn't keep up with Wang Chao's speed!
Wang Chao spun around with the Bone Knife held close to his chest; those lunging zombies were sliced in half by him—he was like a reaper! The term "zombie reaper" fit Wang Chao perfectly at that moment. Seemingly tireless, within just a few minutes, hundreds of zombies fell beneath his Bone Knife. Yet he showed no signs of stopping; it seemed he was determined to slay every one of the tens of thousands of zombies.
Meanwhile...
"What is that thing?" An Armed Helicopter arrived late as the main force reached Yucheng and quickly headed towards him.
"Monster! Monster!" shouted one helicopter pilot as he watched Wang Chao charging through the horde of zombies. A monster—it truly was a monster! Wang Chao was ragged and exposed where he had been bitten; instead of hands below his arms were two Bone Knives growing from his body. Anyone who saw him would undoubtedly define him as a monster.
"Open fire! Open fire!" commanded a captain. "Blast that monster and all the zombies below! Leave none alive! Squad Two continues searching; we must find those survivors! Move fast!" "Understood!" "Received!" The pilots acknowledged their orders as their squadron of helicopters circled above the zombies, waiting for the command to fire. When the captain finally ordered them to shoot, the machine guns on the Armed Helicopter opened fire simultaneously—Wang Chao was their primary target.
Wang Chao immediately sensed the arrival of the Armed Helicopter; however, all that remained in his mind was one word: "kill." Seeing the helicopter open fire, he could only sprint through the horde of zombies to evade its concentrated gunfire. In an instant, countless zombies were hit by bullets and fell to the ground. "Captain! That guy is too fast!"
"Concentrate fire on that monster!" the captain shouted loudly.
The originally scattered bullets suddenly converged, and these elites proved their worth as a rain of bullets sealed off all the paths around Wang Chao, leaving him with nowhere to hide. At that moment, Wang Chao abruptly came to a halt. "Opportunity! Prepare the Anti-Tank Gun, let me take this thing out with one shot!" the captain shouted.
"Anti-Tank Gun is loaded and ready to fire!"
"Fire!" the captain commanded.
The tank cannon stirred up a plume of white smoke in the air as it shot toward Wang Chao, closing in rapidly. All the aircraft ceased firing, seemingly waiting for the moment when Wang Chao would be obliterated by the Anti-Tank Gun. No matter how fast he was, he couldn't outrun a shell. Yet, Wang Chao stood his ground, merely glancing at his arm.
"Direct hit!" the captain exclaimed.
The power of the Anti-Tank Gun was immense; even the toughest human body could not withstand a shell that could pierce through steel. The dust kicked up by the Anti-Tank Gun lingered in the air. The captain, losing patience, ordered, "Free fire! Eliminate those Zombies." The others complied and scattered to pursue the Zombies.
As the dust gradually settled, a plane circling above Wang Chao had a pilot who could hardly believe his eyes. Beneath the dust, he vaguely saw a figure—a shadow that unmistakably belonged to Wang Chao. Could it be that the Anti-Tank Gun failed to kill even a single person? That was impossible! The pilot stared intently below, convinced he must have been seeing things due to the dust; once it cleared, he would take a closer look.
As his vision improved, his jaw dropped further in disbelief. He saw that two massive red shields had appeared in front of Wang Chao. He stood behind them without retreating an inch, completely unharmed. When did those shields appear? Just as the pilot pondered this question, he realized that the shields were directly connected to Wang Chao's arms.
In other words, they were extensions of Wang Chao himself!
"What kind of monster is this?" Just as the pilot intended to call for help through his communication device, he saw that Red-Eyed Monster grin at him, revealing two rows of pristine white teeth amidst the blood splattered across its face—a stark contrast that felt utterly out of place. Then he watched as the creature slammed its fists down onto the ground, transforming them into two gigantic hammers.
Then that monster leaped into the air, heading straight for his plane! What could jump that high? This must be a joke! The pilot thought. But reality proved otherwise—Wang Chao soared upward, swinging both hammers down onto either side of the aircraft, deforming it with a single strike. Immediately after, Wang Chao landed back on the ground, kicking up another wave of dust.
The plane spun several times before plummeting from the sky.
