Wang Chao nodded and followed Old Hao as they walked forward. When they reached the entrance of the villa, Old Hao greeted the guards with a smile and led Wang Chao inside. Wang Chao looked around and was struck by the opulence of the interior, which sparkled with luxury. Compared to the surrounding residential area, it was like night and day. It was evident that Commander Yu's extravagant lifestyle was built on the backs of the common people.
In the grand hall on the first floor, aside from the lavish decor, several stunning women were gathered on the sofa. Wang Chao noticed that they were all exceptionally beautiful, dressed in revealing outfits. Many of them wore expressions that seemed somewhat numb, completely indifferent to the three newcomers. It appeared as though they had lost faith in life. This expression sent a chill down Wang Chao's spine; while death extinguishes life, a dead heart is truly the saddest fate.
Wang Chao felt a shiver run through him, but in Old Hao's eyes, it seemed as if Wang Chao was captivated by these beauties.
A hint of mockery flashed in Old Hao's eyes before disappearing as he turned to Wang Chao and said, "Commander Yu should be on the second floor now. I'll take you up." He then turned to One-Eyed Dragon and said, "Seven Brothers, I'll take Wang Chao up; you stay here." One-Eyed Dragon nodded but did not follow them upstairs. Instead, he sat down on the sofa, seemingly indifferent to the beautiful women around him.
Following Old Hao, they ascended the spiral staircase to the end of a corridor on the second floor, stopping in front of a door. Old Hao knocked and called out, "Commander Yu! Commander Yu! I need to speak with you!"
A sharp voice came from inside, sounding almost feminine: "The door's not locked; come in." Old Hao gestured for Wang Chao to follow and pushed the door open. As they entered, Wang Chao was taken aback by what he saw: a woman was kneeling between Commander Yu's legs, moving rhythmically up and down. Their activities were all too clear.
A flicker of disgust crossed Wang Chao's face but vanished almost instantly; no one else noticed his reaction. He chose not to focus on what the woman was doing but instead scrutinized Commander Yu. The commander was overweight, easily weighing around two hundred pounds, with a face full of excess flesh that made him appear exceedingly sleazy. He looked to be in his forties or fifties and sported an unkempt hairstyle typical of local officials.
Upon seeing them enter, Commander Yu showed no signs of embarrassment; instead, he wore an expression of enjoyment and said to Old Hao, "What brings you here this time, Old Hao?"
Seemingly unfazed by the scene before him, Old Hao approached without raising an eyebrow and sat down on a nearby sofa. He casually reached out to touch the woman's backside before leisurely saying, "I'm here to introduce a new friend to you." He pointed at Wang Chao, who nodded with a flattering smile and stepped forward to greet Commander Yu. "Hello, Commander Yu!"
Commander Yu studied Wang Chao for a moment before nodding and commenting, "Not bad for a newcomer; you look young but seem to have reached Silver Mid-Tier level." Although Commander Yu smiled while speaking, his tone was icy. Wang Chao sensed that Commander Yu regarded him with some wariness—understandable for someone like him who was naturally suspicious of newcomers who were only slightly below his level.
Yet Commander Yu feigned indifference so well that it struck Wang Chao as hypocritical. However, this very pretense allowed Wang Chao to get closer to him. With this thought in mind, Wang Chao quickly stepped forward and said, "Commander Yu, I just arrived in Jing City from elsewhere and heard about your reputation right away. That's why I came to pay my respects. By the way, I didn't come empty-handed; I brought something valuable!"
Upon hearing "something valuable," Commander Yu's eyes lit up with interest but remained silent afterward. Wang Chao understood that Commander Yu was putting on airs and waiting for him to present his offering. Silently mocking him, Wang Chao pulled out a dazzling white Silver Crystal from his pocket. When Commander Yu saw it, he leaned forward sharply as if his eyes might pop out at any moment from excitement over the crystal.
With a swift slap, the woman who was still gasping for breath was knocked to the ground. Commander Yu quickly put on his pants and took two steps to stand in front of Wang Chao, reaching out to grab the Crystal. Wang Chao wore a fawning expression, but inside, he felt as if his heart were bleeding. He knew he lacked the strength to deal with both Old Hao and Commander Yu at the same time, not to mention that there was also a Beastification Cyclops lurking below.
If Commander Yu absorbed the Crystal, his power would undoubtedly increase significantly. At that point, it would be even more troublesome for Wang Chao to take action. However, there was no other choice; his best bet was to strive to become one of Commander Yu's favored subordinates. Then, he could adapt and find an opportunity to assassinate Commander Yu. "Wang Chao," Wang Chao replied.
Commander Yu nodded and continued, "Wang Chao, would you like to be my right-hand man? Just like Old Hao and the others who follow me closely. Naturally, in this Safe Zone, you can enjoy all the beautiful women and food as you please; I won't say a word against it. As for this Silver Crystal, I'll take it for now but won't absorb it just yet. In about ten days, on my fifty-fifth birthday, I will absorb it in front of all my guests!"
Wang Chao nodded eagerly and said, "Of course, of course! This Crystal rightfully belongs to you, Commander Yu. You can absorb it whenever you wish. But you are speaking truthfully, right?"
"Haha!" Commander Yu took the Silver Crystal from him and retrieved a beautifully crafted box from the bookshelf. Inside was soft velvet. He carefully placed the Silver Crystal into the box and locked it in a safe before standing up and patting Wang Chao on the shoulder. "That's right, Wang Chao! I have always treated my people generously. As long as you remain loyal to me, everything in this Safe Zone is mine—and therefore yours."
It seemed that this Silver Crystal truly pleased Commander Yu. When he smiled, his features came together like a blooming chrysanthemum.
