The soldiers regarded obedience to orders as their duty. Although all one hundred of them had reservations about Wang Chao succeeding as the captain of the Thunder Strike Team, they stood straight, their faces betraying their inner dissatisfaction, waiting for this new leader to speak. Yet, after standing for an hour, the captain remained silent, standing still like a statue. 0

As autumn approached, a refreshing breeze swept through, and although Wang Chao stood motionless, his eyes were constantly surveying the group. Most of these individuals were at the Silver Upper Tier level, with a few having already broken through to the Golden Level. Among them was Zhu Feng, the Vice Captain of the Thunder Strike Team, who stood beside the others. He had a dark complexion and a scar across his face that gave him an imposing presence at first glance. 0

Trained by Lei Father and Son, these soldiers maintained an impressive discipline during that hour; no one whispered or made any small movements. Wang Chao's purpose in standing still was to assess the quality of the Thunder Strike Team members. It was evident that they were indeed an elite unit. Wang Chao smiled, stretched his limbs, and began to walk around the square formation while saying, "The soldiers trained by Captain Lei are truly all Kings of Soldiers, each one elite." 0

"Don't you agree?" Wang Chao stopped right in front of Zhu Feng. 0

Zhu Feng's eyes locked onto Wang Chao's, his anger simmering just beneath the surface as if it could ignite at any moment. Yet despite Zhu Feng's countless kills and fierce demeanor, his aura could not match that of someone like Wang Chao, who had survived numerous life-and-death situations. They stared at each other for three full minutes; Zhu Feng felt an increasing pressure weighing down on him until he could hardly breathe. 0

Finally, he conceded and spoke, "You're right!" 0

"Very good!" Wang Chao replied. "I've heard that the Thunder Strike Team has a tradition: only those with sufficient strength are qualified to become its captain. However, given the urgency of our current situation, I don't have much time for tests. So..." As he spoke, Wang Chao drew his Panlong Blade and carved a circle on the ground just large enough for one person to stand in. 0

After sheathing his Panlong Blade, Wang Chao said, "Anyone here can challenge me from this moment on. If you can force me out of this circle, I will admit defeat and leave immediately, never to set foot in Thunder Strike Team's base again!" 0

Upon hearing this declaration, the crowd exchanged glances. They assessed Wang Chao's strength and noted that he was only at the Golden Upper level—high but not necessarily a match for Zhu Feng, especially since these soldiers had been elite even before the Zombie crisis erupted. If Captain Lei were present, he would undoubtedly be at Platinum Level by now! 0

Though they felt unconvinced internally, no one spoke up. 0

"Right now," Wang Chao continued, aware of their hesitations, "there is no distinction between superior and subordinate here. This opportunity is unique; tomorrow you will follow me on a mission. If you waste this chance and regret it later, I won't want you blaming your opinions of me for affecting our mission's execution! So hurry up!" 0

In the military, respect is always given to the strong. If he couldn't earn their genuine trust and respect, how could he lead them on missions? What Wang Chao needed to do now was establish his authority in the shortest time possible! 0

"Alright! I'll go first!" A soldier from the Silver Upper Tier stepped forward and said, "This rule is indeed a bit unfair for you, so let me, a Silver-level fighter, have a go at you!" With that, he charged forward and struck Wang Chao on the shoulder. However, Wang Chao did not flinch or evade, standing firm and unmoving. 0

A flicker of confusion crossed the soldier's eyes. Just as he was about to say something, he was sent flying and crashed to the ground. 0

"I'll take my turn!" shouted a soldier who had broken through to the Golden Level. The crowd understood that there was indeed a significant gap in strength before; this time, it would be a fair match. Yet, as soon as this soldier approached, he was kicked out by Wang Chao without even having a chance to strike. At this moment, everyone was truly shocked. The difference in their levels was only slight, and Wang Chao couldn't move at all. Even so, he had still managed to send the soldier flying with one blow. Clearly, Wang Chao's strength was far beyond just the Golden Upper level! 0

"Captain Zhu, it's your turn! Captain Zhu!" Voices called out from the crowd. Captain Zhu was the strongest and most experienced fighter among them, so everyone placed their hopes on Zhu Feng. He nodded and without wasting any words, directly attacked Wang Chao's lower body in an attempt to force him out of the ring. 0

However, after several consecutive moves, Wang Chao deftly dodged them all, maneuvering in a very small space while remaining entirely within the circle. 0

Zhu Feng looked up and saw Wang Chao smiling at him. 0

"I admit defeat; you truly have what it takes to be our Thunder Strike Team's captain!" Zhu Feng declared. 0

"What’s going on? Why are you conceding?" The crowd murmured among themselves, but Zhu Feng silenced them and said, "Everyone only saw me make a move but didn't see Captain Wang make any moves at all. In fact, with just one strike from him, I would undoubtedly lose. I never speak falsehoods!" Hearing this, the crowd's gaze towards Wang Chao changed. How could someone with only Golden Upper strength remain unyielding and defeat opponents with a single move? It was mysterious—too mysterious. 0

At this point, everyone understood that none of them were a match for Wang Chao. 0

Finally stepping out of the ring, Wang Chao remained silent. He opened his palm and let a badge drop from his hand. As it swung back and forth on its string, everyone focused their eyes and realized that it was indeed Captain Lei's badge. 0

"This badge should be familiar to everyone," Wang Chao said. "To be honest with you all, both Lei Father and Son have perished and become Zombies; I personally dealt with them." 0

As he spoke, everyone struggled to believe their eyes. But it was undoubtedly Captain Lei's badge—an emblem of identity. With the badge now in Wang Chao's possession, it signified that even a true hero could shed tears in such moments. 0

"Wang Chao said, 'Captain Lei, to be a hero in life and a noble spirit in death, to become one of the Zombies is not his rightful place. I personally killed him and buried him in Yucheng. In the future, I will surely lead everyone to pay our respects!' 0

Suddenly, Zhu Feng knelt on one knee before him and said, 'I thank Captain Wang on a personal level!' 0

'Thank you, Captain Wang!' Everyone knelt on one knee in unison and shouted together." 0
