As the Black-Clad Society, along with Li Kai's two thousand men from the Zhonghu Safety Zone, launched their attack on Iron Joy and his companions, chaos erupted. The soldiers from Zhonghu Safety Zone were at the forefront, leading to a fierce melee between them and the Anfei Safe Zone troops. Amidst the turmoil, no one noticed Aivina's smile. Although the Zhonghu Safety Zone had surrendered to the Black-Clad Society, Aivina still couldn't fully trust them.
Aivina's demand to eliminate the thousand soldiers from Anfei Safe Zone was a strategic move to ensure both factions would suffer heavy losses. While some had begun to realize this, it was too late; the two sides were already engaged in battle, and they could only fight amidst the chaos. Blood flowed like a river as Anfei Safe Zone fell into disarray.
Surrounding residents hid in their homes, eyes shut tight, trembling as they listened to the sounds of slaughter outside. The cacophony felt distant yet alarmingly close. All they could do was pretend nothing had happened when dawn broke, continuing their lives and paying taxes to their new lord—that was their fate.
Outside, the cries of battle intensified as both factions fought with blind fury. Only the Black-Clad Society maintained control over their actions; their mission was to perform convincingly without harming their own. Bodies lay scattered across the ground—at least several hundred—twisted and piled together, making it impossible to distinguish between earth and corpses.
Half an hour later, as the battle neared its end, both Zhonghu Safety Zone and Anfei Safe Zone suffered devastating casualties. At that moment, Aivina silently circled behind Li Kai. Just as he finished off a soldier from Anfei Safe Zone in front of him, he felt a sharp pain as Aivina's exquisite dagger plunged into his body.
Struggling to turn his head, Li Kai's eyes widened in shock upon realizing that his attacker was Aivina. He wanted to ask her why she would betray him when he had been instrumental in helping the Black-Clad Society eliminate both major Safe Zones. Sensing his confusion, Aivina tightened her grip around his neck, silencing him completely.
Aivina's hair carried a faint fragrance that Li Kai inhaled deeply. It was his first—and last—close encounter with this alluring woman. Leaning closer to his ear, she whispered softly, "You can betray Wang Chao and Iron Joy; if you find a better option in the future, you will undoubtedly betray me too. This is not even up for debate."
With that, Aivina twisted the dagger forcefully. Li Kai found her voice soothing yet increasingly faint until he became just another lifeless body—one that would never betray anyone again. Only then did Aivina command, "Members of the Black-Clad Society, listen up! Kill every last one of them—whether they are from Anfei Safe Zone or Zhonghu Safety Zone—leave no survivors!"
"Understood!" The members of the Black-Clad Society unleashed their full strength without restraint, mercilessly slaying anyone who wasn't part of their faction. In an instant, both Zhonghu Safety Zone and Anfei Safe Zone soldiers began cursing in despair. Their spirits shattered by such a ruthless order from a woman who treated them like mere pawns.
With Aivina's exceptional skills, she could have easily taken down these defeated soldiers herself; however, she chose not to intervene. Instead, she stood quietly at the edge of the fray, watching as her comrades continued their slaughter. The soldiers had lost all will to resist—like soulless zombies.
Finally, when the last soldier fell, there were no survivors among the two thousand present. Aivina clenched her fists and said, "Zhang Kai, take your brothers from the right wing and secure this battlefield while calming the residents. The rest of you follow me to Zhonghu Safety Zone; it's nothing but an empty shell now. Move out!"
Meanwhile, at the Gliding Club where Wang Chao had previously encountered danger, he remained in a semi-conscious state. His neck had been bitten by a Worm that nearly severed half of his nerves. Aikun'er wept beside him while Xiaocao maintained her usual indifferent demeanor. She tilted her head and remarked coldly, "Why cry? There's a sixty-three percent chance he'll survive in this condition. Even if he dies, why shed tears? Everyone must face death someday."
Aikun'er was holding Wang Chao's hand at that moment, and upon hearing Xiaocao's cold words, she couldn't help but curse with a choked voice, "Get lost! Are you even human? Wang Chao has become like this, and you're still saying such things! Get out, I don't want to see you!"
Xiaocao stood up, her face devoid of any expression, as if the one being scolded wasn't herself. She shook her head and said, "That's not possible. I still need to study his life activities. I don't want him to die; it's just different from your emotional system." After saying this, Xiaocao walked out of the room. Aikun'er looked at the unconscious Wang Chao and said, "Wang Chao, you have to wake up!"
"You mean, Wang Chao and Liu He have disappeared?" Aivina was sitting in the spot where Yuan Min had previously been.
"That's right!" The Vice President of the Black Cloak Society replied. "We haven't found either of them in the entire Safe Zone. About forty minutes from here, we discovered numerous corpses, likely left behind during a battle between Wang Chao and Liu He. From Iron Joy's words back at Anfei Safe Zone, we can infer that Wang Chao and Liu He must have had a major confrontation!"
Aivina nodded and said, "I know Wang Chao is very powerful, but Liu He—can his strength really compare to Wang Chao's? Keep a close watch on the situation in each Safe Zone. Perhaps Wang Chao is lurking in the shadows, planning to strike us with a fatal blow. Also, make sure to find Liu He's whereabouts quickly. Aside from the guard team, everyone from the Black Clothes Society must mobilize immediately. Understood?"
"Understood, I'll get on it right away!"
The Vice President left the room, leaving Aivina alone in the office. She stood up and gazed out the window, thinking to herself, "Wang Chao, no matter what schemes you have, the south belongs to the Ai Family now; no one can interfere!"
