At this moment, Wang Chao's emotions were a mix of feelings, and he wanted to vent but didn't know how. He closed his eyes, calming himself, and after five minutes, he opened them again. Whether it was sorrow or lingering sadness, others were already singing. Perhaps there was no such thing as true empathy in the world; the experiences you go through shape who you are, making you unique, and your emotions are equally singular. 0

Wang Chao suddenly felt a strong desire to experience what it was like to be devoid of emotions, like a blade of grass standing quietly by, silently observing everything happening in the world—neither sad nor happy, as if he had seen through the affairs of the world like a wise monk. He embraced the blade of grass in his arms, tears slowly streaming down his face. Borrowing a phrase from the grass, Wang Chao himself did not know why he was crying at that moment. He needed to release his feelings; this was his way of venting—quiet and without any uproar. 0

"Sometimes, I think being like you is quite nice," Wang Chao said lightly. 0

The blade of grass had been with Wang Chao for quite some time now—almost half a year. During this time, it had witnessed the ordinary lives of humans, filled with joy and sorrow. Yet, the grass still felt no emotions itself. It could not understand Wang Chao's behavior but gently patted his back as if mimicking how it had often seen humans comfort one another. 0

In a voice only it could hear, the grass slowly said, "Sometimes, I want to try crying like you do." 0

Two months later. 0

Everyone's injuries had healed. Wang Chao had also broken through to the mid-level of the Extraordinary realm during that battle. However, he still couldn't catch up to that person—Zhang Fusheng—whose strength remained unfathomable. Da Qiang had fainted before Zhang Fusheng appeared and missed what happened afterward. Thus, in various Safe Zones, stories about Wang Chao's achievements grew; one more tale claimed that he single-handedly defeated the monsters that had destroyed many Safe Zones in the south, especially establishing a towering image in the hearts of the southern military and civilians. 0

Wang Chao did not argue against this narrative. The events surrounding Zhang Fusheng were unknown even to Da Qiang. Only five people in all of Huaxia knew about it: Wang Chao, the Shen Sisters, Xiao Wei, and Aivina. As for Aivina's knowledge, she realized that Wang Chao no longer wore the ancient ring from the Zhang Family on his hand—a fact he could not hide from her. Aivina understood that Wang Chao would not give it to anyone else; thus, this was the only explanation. 0

During these two months, Wang Chao enjoyed relative peace. The reconstruction efforts in the south were progressing steadily while simultaneously reorganizing and restructuring both southern and northern armies. Aivina's Black Clothes Society had suffered significant losses during their previous battles against monsters and could no longer contend with Wang Chao—especially under Xiao Wei's influence. At this point, Wang Chao was almost wrapped up as a hero who saved the world; Aivina found it impossible to act against him now. 0

Wang Chao reluctantly accepted all of this; it was better this way—at least he wouldn't have to confront Aivina directly anymore. However, he still arranged for Aivina to become the leader of Zhonghu Safety Zone. This way, it provided Aivina with an explanation; regardless of whether she accepted it or not, Wang Chao would not allow her to overturn this decision. After more than half a year, their entangled relationship finally reached a conclusion. 0

"You are truly an interesting person," Aivina said while shaking her head. "You have strong ambitions and can be ruthless yet haven't completely fallen into darkness! I really can't understand you; perhaps Huaxia in your hands can become a vibrant place with a future! It seems like the Seven Great Families have controlled Huaxia for too long; it's time for them to step down!" 0

Wang Chao smiled slightly and found it somewhat unbelievable that within just a few years he had interacted with nearly all members of the Seven Great Families: Huangfu Yan and Huangfu Ling with their ambitious schemes; the unparalleled Zhang Family Ancestors; Shen Zhitao and her sisters; the gentle Wu Wan'er; Shangguan who had been plotting revenge for twenty years; Lin Clan Members who were utterly debauched; and this mother-daughter duo—Aivina and Aikun'er… 0

Some of these people became Wang Chao's enemies, some became his friends, some were ruthlessly killed by him, and some were tormented to the point of tears. Others became his best companions, heartfelt friends who saved him or whom he saved more than once. Sometimes Wang Chao thought that if this were all a dream, and if all this sadness and death could be avoided, he would rather not wake up from it. For in the short span of five years, Wang Chao found many things worth cherishing and discovered himself, after living in a daze for twenty years. 0

"Time flies so fast!" Wang Chao said. "If we won't become enemies in the future, we will definitely be the best of friends." 0

Aivina nodded, her eyes sparkling with charm, still as alluring as ever. Then she said nothing and walked away. Wang Chao shook his head. Now that he had unified Huaxia, all military power was in his hands. Yet, instead of feeling excited or happy about it, he felt a sense of confusion and melancholy as if he had reached his goal. 0

Huaxia had just been unified; the reconstruction work in the south was still incomplete. Everyone around him seemed like wind-up robots full of energy, making Wang Chao feel out of place. At that moment, what was he thinking? He slowly walked down a small path leading to Little Wolf's house. For almost a year, he hadn't had time to visit Little Wolf. First, he had been constantly on the move with his army; bringing Little Wolf along would have been pointless. Second, riding Little Wolf was too eye-catching and would draw attention to him, which was not conducive to his stealth. 0

But now, Wang Chao no longer had to worry about any of that—he didn't have to go out to fight or hide in the south anymore. 0

"Little Wolf!" Wang Chao called tentatively. As soon as he spoke, a massive figure over four meters long and nearly two meters tall came charging down the path toward him. Little Wolf leaped straight at Wang Chao, its tongue sweeping over him like a broom, filling him with warmth. On this road, although some had left, many still accompanied him. 0

For instance, there was Little Wolf, whom he hadn't seen for a year but still felt so familiar with. 0

The zombies had not all been eradicated yet; residents had not all been settled. This was no longer someone else's wish—it had long since become part of his life. There were still many things to do! Wang Chao thought to himself. 0
