As Wang Chao urged Little Wolf forward, the Zombies surged toward them. It appeared that a Mind Controller was manipulating these Zombies, but Little Grudge had not yet recovered from its previous exhaustion and could not sense the location of the Mind Controller. Wang Chao wrapped one arm around Little Grudge from behind and grasped Little Wolf's fur to prevent Little Grudge from falling off.
With his other hand, he drew the Panlong Blade from behind. At that moment, the blade was nearly entirely black, with only the dragon's eye still glowing red, indicating that it would soon be completely dark. However, Wang Chao had no time to dwell on this; in the blink of an eye, he charged into the mass of Zombies. These were ordinary Zombies with low attack power, but Wang Chao quickly realized that they were not there to attack him but to block his path. Their goal was to prevent him from stopping the Giant Lizard, as the Mind Controllers aimed to usher these Zombies into the Safe Zone.
Out of the corner of his eye, Wang Chao saw that the massive Lizard had crouched down, pressing itself against the ground. The Zombies were continuously climbing onto its back to fill the gaps left by those who had fallen during the struggle for control. Within just a few seconds, all those gaps were filled, and then the giant Lizard stood up again, with the remaining Zombies gradually filling in below.
At this point, Wang Chao found himself surrounded by tens of thousands of Zombies. In a frenzy of slaughter, countless Zombies were sliced into pieces by his Panlong Blade every second. Meanwhile, Little Wolf raced toward the Komodo Dragon's direction, but more Zombies charged in from all sides—most of them were large Zombies, seemingly intent on encircling Wang Chao.
While Wang Chao and his companions fought desperately to break free, Zhang Fusheng stood in the small town's square. Behind him were four members of the Vengeance Alliance; three of them sat on the ground with their eyes closed, their bodies trembling slightly. At that moment, one member opened his eyes and spoke anxiously to Zhang Fusheng: "Young Master, I just received a Mental Power signal—our three teammates in Jing City have been completely eliminated."
Zhang Fusheng nodded without showing much panic; he seemed already aware of this outcome. He clasped his hands together and tapped his fingers against his palm as he said, "This means that Wang Chao has returned to Jing City. I'm not worried about this result at all. In my plan, there are at least three Safe Zones that I need to address personally: Jing City is the first, followed by the Imperial Capital and then Zhonghu Safe Zone."
"By now, Wang Chao should have gone to the Imperial Capital," Zhang Fusheng remarked to a person who had been standing beside him.
At that moment, another person who had been keeping his eyes closed opened them and said, "We detected a Mind Controller in the Imperial Capital; their Mental Power is incredibly strong. Our three teammates were no match for them alone. If this person is present, our plan could very well fail..." Zhang Fusheng frowned and replied to the person beside him: "You know that I must remain here in this square to connect all the avenger teams together and coordinate with all of Huaxia's Zombies and members. If such a person exists, we need to find her and eliminate her."
As he spoke, Zhang Fusheng glanced at the device in the square where various colored indicator lights were flashing.
The Mind Controller continued: "However, their Mental Power has now disappeared. Earlier when we coordinated our efforts, we allowed that person to escape. But it can be determined that they are likely still in the Imperial Capital! The distance is simply too great; our Mental Power cannot achieve real-time synchronization. What we received was information from ten minutes ago; by the time our team arrives, it will take almost a day—by then, they may no longer be in the Imperial Capital!"
"In that case, we must ensure they stay!" Zhang Fusheng insisted. "This person is likely with Wang Chao. Once things settle down with the other Safe Zones, I will come looking for you. Wang Chao is very powerful; if we cannot defeat him, do not act recklessly—wait for me."
"I understand!" replied the individual. "But Young Master, can you really go through with it? After all..."
"Some things are not optional just because you don't want to do them. That lesson was taught to me by him!" Zhang Fusheng said. "Go do it now."
While Zhang Fusheng was plotting, Wang Chao and Little Wolf had already charged almost directly in front of the Giant Lizard. At that moment, Wang Chao was surrounded by numerous giant Zombies, each over ten meters tall, encircling Little Wolf, Wang Chao, and Little Grudge tightly, as if they had fallen into a deep well over ten meters deep. At the same time, nearly a dozen massive hands were pressing down on them, seemingly intent on crushing the three of them to death in that well.
"Little Wolf!" Wang Chao shouted.
Hearing this, Little Wolf howled and leaped into the air, landing directly on one of the giant hands. Then he jumped onto a second hand, then a third, and more hands followed. In an instant, with his speed, Little Wolf ran across the palms as if they were solid ground. Meanwhile, Wang Chao's Panlong Blade was not idle either. The moment Little Wolf left the palm, he swung down fiercely, severing the hands of the Giant Zombies at the wrists. One by one, the enormous hands fell to the ground with a thunderous crash, stacking upon each other like small hills.
At this point, Little Wolf had already jumped out of the encirclement of the Giant Zombies and leaped forward with great force, almost reaching the massive Lizard. "Keep going!" Wang Chao urged. "Get in front of that Giant Lizard!" Little Wolf understood that their target was indeed that enormous Lizard and landed without hesitation, charging straight toward it.
From a distance, it was clear that this giant Lizard was immense; as they got closer, they realized it was even larger than they had imagined. When it stood on all fours, it towered nearly ten meters high, resembling a moving small island!
