Wang Chao never expected that Da Qiang would be the first to wake up, and it had only been a week. This left Wang Chao puzzled. To be honest, Da Qiang was one of the slower thinkers among them, honest and straightforward, not someone who seemed capable of breaking through first. As Da Qiang blinked his eyes and scratched his head, he looked at Wang Chao with a silly expression. Although Da Qiang's demeanor hadn't changed, his strength had risen to the mid-level of the extraordinary. 0

Wang Chao remembered how he felt when he first broke through the Inner Demon; the memories of that illusion still haunted him, vivid as if they were painted before his eyes. It took him a long time to recover from it. But now, seeing Da Qiang's appearance, it seemed that the Inner Demon had no effect on him at all. This was something Wang Chao couldn't help but admire about Da Qiang. When Da Qiang noticed that everyone else was still asleep, he expressed his surprise, saying, "I thought I was the last one to wake up..." 0

"Really? What did you experience in there?" Wang Chao asked after a moment of contemplation. 0

Da Qiang shook his head and replied, "It felt very real yet unreal. When I first woke up, everything seemed both strange and familiar, as if I had appeared in my own home. I found it odd; I had just jumped down, so how could I be back at home? Then I just kept walking outside until I saw a beam of light, and that's when I woke up..." 0

Upon hearing this, Wang Chao finally understood. It wasn't that Da Qiang was particularly impressive; rather, he simply hadn't been affected by the Inner Demon at all. Wang Chao envied this greatly—truly, fools have their own blessings. Putting aside Da Qiang for now, he turned his attention to Zhuang Peng and Tang Feng. The two of them wore serious expressions, their brows furrowed with endless sorrow, which made both Wang Chao and Da Qiang sigh in sympathy. It seemed they were still battling their Inner Demons. 0

This was something outsiders couldn't help them with; the Inner Demon had to be expelled by oneself. 0

During this time, Wang Chao didn't remain idle either. He nearly wore out the notes left for him by Xiaocao, going through various useful information within them. However, Wang Chao also knew that in just a month, it was impossible for him to learn all the techniques contained within. On one hand, he continuously contemplated the routines of his Breathing Technique; on the other hand, he expanded his understanding of his mutated genes. 0

Da Qiang became Wang Chao's practice "puppet." Whenever Wang Chao devised a new move, he would spar with Da Qiang several times. This led to many new insights, especially regarding the application of genetic abilities. At times, Wang Chao even felt as if he were not human at all—especially when using certain abilities. For instance, when employing a particular boxing technique, each punch felt like striking with the force of a thousand-pound hammer. In those moments, Wang Chao felt like an Elephant, filled with power; or when using a certain agility technique, he felt as fluid as a great snake. 0

This was precisely because Wang Chao had fused multiple genes together; one-third of the genes in his body were no longer human genes. Many chromosomes had mutated as well. This deep fusion within his body primarily relied on human genes while supplementing with others. When Wang Chao utilized abilities clearly beyond human capacity, his mind naturally began to perceive this genetic control deviation—leading him to feel less like a human and more like something governed by these other genes. 0

Wang Chao didn't know whether this was a blessing or a curse. However, it seemed that when he focused on certain aspects, he could unleash abilities far superior to those of humans—for example, in terms of strength; no human could rival an Elephant. Or in terms of speed; no human could outrun a cheetah. Yet when Wang Chao concentrated on one aspect, he could wield such power. 0

Half a month passed like this. Wang Chao's task for himself was to continuously integrate this focused aspect into his core abilities until he could use it almost instinctively without thinking about it. However, achieving this was quite challenging. To give a similar example: while running on four legs is a cheetah's strength, standing on two legs and throwing punches is an entirely different challenge. 0

Though this analogy might not be perfect, it captured Wang Chao's feelings well; despite these genes being fused together, truly achieving a harmonious triad remained difficult. Just as Da Qiang and Wang Chao continued their sparring exchanges, they both heard a voice—hoarse and low—coming from none other than Tang Feng. 0

The two exchanged a glance, understanding that Tang Feng had awakened! 0

Looking over, Tang Feng was drenched in sweat, his face pale, as if he had just faced his greatest fears in a state of confusion. Wang Chao quickly handed him a bottle of mineral water and said, "Take a moment to rest. Congratulations, you've overcome your Inner Demon, and your strength has increased as well!" Indeed, at this moment, Tang Feng had already reached the upper echelon of the extraordinary. 0

"It felt so real and terrifying!" The usually taciturn Tang Feng couldn't help but voice his inner unease and fear. It was evident that one's greatest enemy is oneself, not others. Fortunately, Tang Feng had finally come to his senses. Wang Chao didn't press him for details like he did with Da Qiang. He knew that Tang Feng was someone who kept things buried deep within and would be reluctant to share. 0

Thus, a month passed swiftly, leaving only a few days remaining. However, Zhuang Peng still showed no signs of waking up. Wang Chao shook his head, thinking that if the month-long deadline came to an end, it was likely that Zhuang Peng would remain unconscious. Yet, there was no possibility of delaying matters on Zhang Fusheng's side. With this thought in mind, Wang Chao had no choice but to contact Shen Zhitao and others to send someone to guard Zhuang Peng, while he and the others prepared to head to the small town for their appointment. 0

Reluctantly departing once more due to Zhuang Peng's situation, they found themselves back on the plane. Both Shen Zhitao and even Wu Wan'er shed tears, knowing that this journey might very well be their last. As the three of them disembarked from the plane, what Wang Chao didn't realize was that secretly, everyone had nearly reached a consensus: if Wang Chao were to fail, then who among them would have any hope left? 0

"This might very well be our last meeting; how could we not go?" they all thought. 0
