Humming a tune that only he could appreciate in his mind, Lin Yuan bounced out of the warehouse. Although he had been working overtime for an unknown amount of time, he felt no fatigue and was blissfully unaware of the passing hours, reminiscent of someone lost in the mountains.
As he opened the large door to the warehouse, Lin Yuan swiftly unleashed six rounds of Three-Dimensional Projection. After confirming that everything around him was safe, he lightly jumped out. The moment he landed, his Auditory Radar locked onto a massive structure, Wreckage, a hundred meters away. His three Mechanical Arms lifted slightly, and with a series of 'whoosh' sounds, three Laser Guns fired rapidly at intervals of fifteen seconds, striking the Wreckage. When the dust settled, nothing remained!
"Not bad, not bad!"
Lin Yuan whistled proudly in his mind. His triple shot was indeed impressive; however, the next round turned out to be a bit tragic. The commands for his Mechanical Arms experienced significant delays—taking one second to relay orders to the Laser Guns.
The modified Mechanical Arms were more complex. If he stood still and shot at a fixed target, Lin Yuan could manage just fine. But when faced with multiple complicated actions and a flood of information at once, that delay became critical. If the enemy kept moving, he could only imagine the overwhelming frustration it would cause.
In short, it required extremely complex calculations!
At that moment, Lin Yuan finally understood the importance of Intelligence Level. He had always thought of himself as a promising young man from the 21st century—clever and resourceful—but in reality, he was far from it. When a massive influx of external information flooded in within a short time, he couldn't process it quickly and agilely like a fish in water. This could lead to catastrophic failures, a term that sounded quite strange to him.
This issue weighed heavily on Lin Yuan's mind. To avoid becoming flustered in a complex battlefield environment due to an overload of information leading to mental shutdowns, he needed to undergo appropriate training.
After some contemplation, Lin Yuan devised a training plan for himself. He marked up to one hundred targets on different positions within a Rubble Pile, treating them as enemies. He would navigate through this maze-like setup quickly while continuously executing all possible actions and allowing his Auditory Radar to lock onto different targets. Most importantly, he needed to ensure that the attacks from his three Laser Guns remained synchronized, with no more than thirteen seconds between each round.
This training was relatively simple but quite challenging for Lin Yuan. As he had experienced before, the first round of firing always went smoothly; the second round was disastrous; and by the third round—due to that three-second delay—it felt like chaos was piling up. Ultimately, he found himself needing to issue commands earlier and earlier as things became increasingly complicated. Before long, Lin Yuan's head couldn't handle it anymore; it was all a mess.
Reluctantly, Lin Yuan decided to temporarily abandon this approach. Regardless, his triple-shot attack could still manage three rounds in battle and maintained decent deterrent power.
Moreover, he wasn't too anxious because once he leveled up again and acquired Modification Points for slight enhancements, this three-second delay issue could be resolved perfectly.
Lin Yuan still had not decided to venture into the Iron Giant Wheel, as he felt he was far from ready. There were three main concerns. The first was the issue of Firepower; the triple shot problem could not be resolved for now.
The second concern was climbing. Although Lin Yuan had not approached the Iron Giant Wheel, he could tell how massive it was from a distance. There were no stairs or handrails, so if he wanted to get inside, the only way would be to climb up like a spider.
The third issue was related to the Auditory Radar. Currently, he could generate a Three-Dimensional Image every second. This speed was manageable in open areas with ample visibility, but once he entered a confined space, there would surely be blind spots, which could be dangerous.
In summary, Lin Yuan wanted to upgrade himself to F-Level before embarking on this adventure. His Intellect and Mechanical Body fusion rate stood at 414%. According to previous patterns, as long as this fusion rate reached 500%, he could level up.
To increase this fusion rate, combat was one method, training was another, and disassembling and reassembling Parts was also a good option.
Thus, Lin Yuan continued to stay busy. Since combat was temporarily off the table, daily training became essential. He made it a point to train for an hour every five hours at the Rubble Pile according to his training plan. This not only trained his Intellect's reaction ability but also made his entire body more agile, especially the coordination between his four Mechanical Arms and two Mechanical Legs.
Once his training left him feeling dizzy, Lin Yuan would return to the bottom of the warehouse and begin tirelessly assembling and disassembling the scattered Mechanical Parts. Currently, out of the eleven Mechanical Warrior Wreckages he had collected, ten had been thoroughly dismantled by him. The only one left intact was an E1-level Mechanical Warrior Wreckage. The reason he hadn’t disassembled it wasn’t out of politeness; rather, he discovered that this E1-level Mechanical Warrior and the F1-level Mechanical Warrior were entirely different types of Mechanical Bodies.
It was more advanced, more complex, and sturdier. Just comparing their Mechanical Arms revealed that the F1-level Mechanical Warrior's arms were mass-produced on an assembly line, merely assembled from many Parts. To describe them as lifeless would not be an exaggeration; they bore no difference from car Parts in Lin Yuan's memory.
However, the E1-level Mechanical Warrior's Mechanical Body seemed almost alive—not in the sense that it wasn’t dead but in a more profound way. It exuded a sacred aura; in the tone of an artistic youth, it was filled with artistic essence.
Before Lin Yuan became a Repairman, he hadn’t noticed anything amiss. But as his repair skills improved, this feeling became increasingly clear—like a monkey standing at the edge of the human world. Ahead of him lay a brand new world waiting for him.
