A beam of sunlight streamed through the cracks above the Fortress Base, casting a warm glow over the dust that floated in the air. Numerous Anzhela Venom Bees buzzed in and out, their industrious nature unchanged despite their mutations. Aside from the faint humming, the entire Fortress Base was eerily quiet, as if a century had passed in that single moment. Even the golden sunlight began to feel ancient, pale, and unreal.
Lin Yuan stood motionless, cradling the Heavy Sniper Rifle. It was heavy, weighing a full twenty kilograms; by the standards of the first century, it could be considered a mortar. Only a Mutant with immense strength could withstand the terrifying impact of this Heavy Sniper Rifle.
One second, two seconds, three seconds—yet the two Mutant Snipers that seemed ready to leap down never entered through the cracks as Lin Yuan had imagined.
Instead, they appeared to be enjoying the view from above the Fortress Base, remaining completely still.

But something felt very wrong. In the next moment, Lin Yuan leaped into the depths of Fortress Base without hesitation. He flipped and soared several meters forward just as a powerful Rocket Launcher penetrated the outer steel walls of Fortress Base, striking where he had just stood. The immense force sent Lin Yuan flying dozens of meters away.
What the hell? That was a guided Rocket Launcher mounted on Exoskeleton Armor!
How could he have been exposed?

However, Lin Yuan was almost hoping they would attack. In an instant, his Second Audio-Visual Radar simulated a three-dimensional environment of Fortress Base's exterior based on the trajectories of those two Firestone High-Explosive Armor-Piercing Rounds while simultaneously locking onto the Mutant Sniper who was desperately trying to evade.
He had to admit that this opponent possessed formidable combat awareness. However, one thing he was mistaken about was that once Lin Yuan—acting as a Mechanical Warrior—initiated a lock-on while wielding an incredibly powerful Heavy Sniper Rifle, no amount of tactical evasion would help him unless he moved faster and reacted more swiftly!

He had found the reason. The Mutants had indeed not stationed snipers here for long, and those two snipers had not discovered any clues. However, before they entered the Fortress Base, they had carelessly released a surveillance drone that resembled an Anzhela Venom Bee, which ultimately led to their exposure.

His Mechanical Legs instantly propelled him backward as he discarded the Heavy Sniper Rifle. At the same time, he fired his Laser Sniper Rifle while simultaneously unleashing fire from three Laser Pistols, forcing that terrifying agile Mutant to retreat under the relentless barrage!
However, this agile Mutant was truly extraordinary. In the face of Lin Yuan's barrage, the gleaming long knife danced rapidly, forming a curtain of blades that blocked all attacks as if it were a continuous stream of moonlight.
Lin Yuan was astonished; he never expected that these Mutants had become so powerful after thousands of years. It was almost superhuman. Just based on that guy's agility and neural reaction speed, it seemed to be at least around 001 to 00!

With a loud bang, although the Mutant's speed and reaction capabilities were formidable, it was difficult to evade at less than two meters away. The shot struck its chest, creating a massive hole that instantly killed it.
