"Wow! I love unexpected surprises!" 0

Lin Yuan exclaimed sincerely, feeling immensely satisfied. The results produced by the six Modification Points exceeded his imagination by far. 0

As he slowly awakened from a deep slumber, various pieces of information and attribute data continuously emerged in his mind, including detailed feedback from different parts of his Mechanical Body. 0

It was no exaggeration to say that Lin Yuan felt as if he had just experienced a beautiful, uplifting dream. And as he gradually became more aware, he unexpectedly discovered that this beautiful dream had indeed manifested in his sensations. 0

It was a wonderful feeling. 0

Lin Yuan could easily sense the powerful, beast-like energy contained within his Second Form Mechanical Body, along with an innate primal desire to race against the howling winds. This seemed to be an inherent trait and endowment. 0

As for the visual field transmitted back by his Auditory Radar, it remained largely unchanged; if there was any difference, it was that it seemed to be more sensitive. 0

There was nothing unfamiliar about it, just as it would be absurd for a human to doubt the sovereignty of their own thumb! 0

Thus, Lin Yuan did not rush to switch back to his First Form. As changes stirred within him, a deep, melodious voice resonated—a roar emitted from his Second Form's Six-Link Energy Engine Matrix. There was no need for surprise; being stronger than an ordinary e1 level Mechanical Warrior's engine made such performance entirely normal. Of course, there was a hint of Lin Yuan's dark humor in this; he enjoyed the sound of roaring because it made him feel more like a rampaging beast. Otherwise, even with overclocked output, the Energy Engine would only produce a faint vibration. 0

However, things were different now. Accompanied by the engine's low roar, Lin Yuan felt as if his Second Form was summoning an ancient dragon. Perhaps this was merely his imagination, but what did it matter? 0

In the next instant, Lin Yuan's Second Form surged forward with that deep roar, reaching a speed of 100 kilometers per hour. With incredibly refined control techniques, he burst out of the S-5 Sub-base like a dragon breaking free from chains, kicking up clouds of dust as he sped away! 0

This experience was completely different from driving the massive Beast Motorcycle before; in fact, it felt entirely unlike any human-operated vehicle. Lin Yuan didn't need to drive at all—this high-speed existence was him! 0

In other words, it felt like a human running wildly using their own body—a complete sense of control. No, it was more like mastering the winds and earth. The only difference was that humans would tire and eventually stop due to exhaustion, while Lin Yuan's Second Form had no such limitation; only energy availability mattered. 0

As his speed continued to climb and ultimately reached a standard 450 kilometers per hour, Lin Yuan accurately assessed how much energy his Second Form would consume at that rate. The data surprised him because the consumption far exceeded that of Mouse One's full-speed flight, requiring 15 Standard Energy per hour. 0

However, this did not concern Lin Yuan too much. He now had some wealth, and his views on Standard Energy were akin to how people in the 21st century viewed gasoline and diesel. Even if consumption increased two or three times, what did it matter? 0

What truly deserved Lin Yuan's attention were the advantages and disadvantages of his Second Form, as well as various data parameters from both this battle and his daily life. 0

Thus, within the defense identification zone of the S-5 Sub-base, Lin Yuan was crazily conducting various extreme tests. At the same time, his Intellect was recording all the data parameters from these tests. What would have been complex and tedious data that could bore a shut-in was now just a piece of cake for him. 0

Simultaneously undergoing testing was Lin Yuan's Weapon System. It is worth mentioning that Lin Yuan's Second Form and First Form were not two unrelated neighbors but rather a symbiotic entity. When the Second Form was in motion, all parts of the First Form operated at full speed as well, including his four Mechanical Arms and corresponding Weapon Equipment, which could launch an attack at a moment's notice if necessary. 0

Lin Yuan was very satisfied with this. 0

The final test needed was the transformation between the two forms. This transformation tested the endurance of his Mechanical Body because Lin Yuan did not want to give his enemies enough time to react during such a transition. Even with Modification Points, which acted as a reverse artifact, this transformation took five seconds. 0

So, he made a mistake. While his Second Form was still moving at a speed of four hundred fifty kilometers per hour, he impulsively issued a command to switch between Mechanical Body forms. 0

Then, under the immense inertia, Lin Yuan's entire Mechanical Body transformed into a soccer ball—one that was brutally kicked away—rolling violently for two kilometers. By the time he finally came to a stop, his Health Points had dropped by three hundred points. Moreover, what had just appeared so magnificent and cool in its Second Form now looked like a beggar in tatters. 0

This truly infuriated Lin Yuan—not because of his erroneous command but because of those six wings on his back. They were still quite flashy; unfortunately, at that moment, they made him look more like a naked turkey—embarrassingly disheveled. Four of his Feathered Armors had already been damaged beyond repair and could only stand there in disgrace. 0

Fortunately, the primary functions of both his First Form and Second Form remained intact despite this incident, which could be considered a stroke of luck. 0

Of course, regarding the Feathered Armor, Lin Yuan had no intention of dismantling it. However, he thought that perhaps in the future he could improve it further—making it more flexible, sturdier, and sharper. After all, once these Feathered Armors were deployed, they could also serve as excellent weapons. 0

This incident was merely an interlude; Lin Yuan had countless tasks to attend to. He still needed to forge two higher-quality engine armors and address the switching issue between the Laser Sniper Rifle and Firestone High-Explosive Sniper Rifle. Lastly, there were daily training routines that related to his war against the Mutants. 0

Indeed, for the past two years, Lin Yuan had been hiding in the S-5 Sub-base without making an appearance. This seemingly compromising act of cowardice did not extinguish the fury of the Mutants. According to reports from the Gatekeeper, those creatures had begun constructing four defensive fortresses and reconnaissance towers around the four directions of the Sub-base. As soon as Lin Yuan dared to step outside a five-hundred-kilometer radius of their air defense identification zone, he would undoubtedly be detected by them—leading to an unending war. 0

So, this was inevitably something that Lin Yuan had to face, and he was fully prepared to fight back, having completely abandoned the idea of resolving the issue through negotiation. Of course, this was contingent upon him being ready; otherwise, he would never step out. 0

Returning to the S-5 Sub-base, he automatically dismissed the flattery of the Gatekeeper. Now, Lin Yuan had found a place that could prevent the Gatekeeper from observing him: the Trading Platform Hall located right in the center of the Sub-base. As long as he entered there and did not permit it, the Gatekeeper would not be able to come in, nor would it be able to discover his modification plans. 0

The hall was spacious enough for him to transfer many of his junk treasures there. Although the Gatekeeper protested every time it saw him, Lin Yuan had no need for its opinions. 0

Once inside his private space, Lin Yuan first repaired the six pieces of Feathered Armor. When transformed into their Second Form, these pieces looked impressive; however, in their First Form, they appeared quite unsightly. 0

One could imagine that these six wings were installed at the knee joints of two Mechanical Legs and at the elbow joints of four Mechanical Arms. Their different placements caused them to spread out like a turkey with its feathers plucked—an ugly sight indeed. However, Lin Yuan didn’t care much about appearances; after all, these things could be retracted quickly. 0

Suddenly, an idea struck him—not related to aesthetics or making himself look more imposing. He wondered if he could replace the shield that his left Mechanical Arm was supposed to hold with a winged shield that could retract quickly and expand just as fast. 0

Even better, it could instantly protect various parts of his Mechanical Body in its First Form. This would be far superior to a standalone shield and wouldn’t take up too much space; it might even free up his left Mechanical Arm! 0

“What a wonderful idea!” 0

Lin Yuan thought to himself, marveling at his own brilliance. 0
