This mission allowed Lin Yuan to gain a deeper understanding of Mechanical City. He had not anticipated that this method of using missions as an educational tool would be so effective.
So, even though he pretended not to care on the surface, he knew very well that he, as a Mechanical Warrior, had already been left far behind.
Mechanical Life did not have a specific lifespan. Two Mechanical Warriors awakening at the same time could, in less than a few decades, see one remain a child while the other became a powerful adult.
They were entirely defined by levels such as abdef, indicating how much each had grown. If one did not strive, even living for ten thousand years would still result in being regarded as a despised child.
This was a terrifying competition, far more brutal than the competition in human society. At least humans could enjoy twenty years of nurturing after birth, but Mechanical Life had to find work immediately upon awakening. The only support they had were the missions from those ten subjects.
Lin Yuan dared to bet that these ten subjects' missions would be extremely difficult. To complete them perfectly would require immense determination.

But Lin Yuan didn't mind; this skill was something he could continuously train in, and it would be invaluable for his survival combat skills in the future.
For the time being, Lin Yuan decided to abandon his plan to search deeper into the island and instead remained at the foot of the volcano, constantly practicing rapid transitions between First Form and Second Form.

However, after attempting the training, Lin Yuan discovered that if he maintained a speed below one hundred kilometers per hour, he could perfectly keep the balance of his Mechanical Body while launching a counterattack at maximum speed.
At speeds of one hundred fifty kilometers per hour, he would need to spiral in the air at least five times before running twenty meters on the ground to come to a stop.
He still couldn't meet his own requirements.
Thus, he could only try again and again, transitioning from Second Form to accelerating to one hundred kilometers per hour and then increasing his speed to two hundred kilometers per hour within two seconds before swiftly switching to combat mode.
Gradually, as he increased the number of attempts, Lin Yuan began to discover the trick. In fact, it wasn't that complicated; it was fundamentally about controlling inertia reasonably.
The first step was to leap into the air in Second Form, ideally reaching a height of over ten meters. This way, he would have about fifty meters of space; within this fifty meters, his Mechanical Body would still be dashing forward at two hundred kilometers per hour.
The second step required him to quickly transition into combat mode while soaring forward during those fifty meters. Previously, he had always been quick to switch his Mechanical Legs first, using their propulsion ability to overcome inertia. This was actually a mistake.
He should first detach the mechanical waist and then deploy all four Mechanical Arms. Once the four Mechanical Arms were separated, it would be time for the third step.
This involved rapidly utilizing the rotational ability of the mechanical waist to start spinning at high speed while evenly spreading out the four Mechanical Arms to form a simple propeller.
As long as the rotational speed of the mechanical waist reached thirty revolutions per second, it would reduce at least one-third of the inertia. If his Waist Rotation speed reached sixty revolutions per second, it would generate slight lift, allowing him to almost ignore at least half of the impact inertia. Then he could detach his Mechanical Legs and land safely!
However, this still did not satisfy Lin Yuan's combat requirements. He wanted to harness this powerful inertia to lock onto his opponent and deliver a swift strike that would sever their head from their body; that was his true goal.
Of course, this cushioning step also inspired Lin Yuan with another idea: he could install an organ above his chest that included his head. These parts should be a combination of propellers that could merge when not needed and quickly unfold when required. By utilizing high-speed rotation in this manner, a simple helicopter could emerge.
If Lin Yuan were currently at the S-5 Sub-base, he would immediately start working on the research assembly.
Unfortunately, he was now on a perilous island and had to temporarily set that idea aside.
To verify the buffer steps summarized by Lin Yuan and to gain experience in real combat, he decided to formally declare war on the sneaky entity that had been following him.
For this purpose, he deliberately moved into a relatively flat area, and sure enough, that entity was trailing behind him at a leisurely pace. If it weren't for the fact that this thing was a lively Mechanical Beast, Lin Yuan would almost think it was a tracking device created by a Mutant.
Then, Lin Yuan suddenly turned around, and the engine under his Second Form roared to life. In an instant, he transformed into a fierce tiger and charged madly toward that entity.
As before, the entity showed no surprise; it gracefully turned and leaped away, darting over a hundred meters in just a few bounds. Its agility was astonishing.
However, this time Lin Yuan was very confident. He crazily revved the engine, increasing his speed to three hundred kilometers per hour within seconds. Meanwhile, the Second Audio-Visual Radar completely locked onto the rapidly moving Mechanical Beast, while the Main Audio-Visual Radar was ready to take over. As long as he closed within five hundred meters, he could lock onto that pesky thing with even more accuracy using a Three-Dimensional Image!
Just over ten seconds later, Lin Yuan had closed the distance to four hundred meters. At this point, he began to slow down while the Main Audio-Visual Radar operated at full capacity, continuously tracking the Mechanical Beast within a fifty-meter radius, missing no details.
When he got within three hundred meters, his speed had decreased to two hundred fifty kilometers per hour and then to two hundred kilometers per hour—this was the minimum standard since the Mechanical Beast could exceed one hundred fifty kilometers per hour.
In just three seconds, Lin Yuan closed in to one hundred fifty meters. At this moment, the Mechanical Beast remained unhurried, maintaining its original bouncing motion. Previously, Lin Yuan had also caught up using this method; however, once he switched to his First Combat Form, the Mechanical Beast had already escaped far away, so it had every reason not to worry.
But Lin Yuan remained surprisingly calm as he continued to close in while assessing the surrounding terrain. When he finally approached the Mechanical Beast at a stable speed of sixty meters away, he rapidly increased output from his rear wheels. As his speed surged upward, his front wheels lifted into the air.
In an instant, propelled by immense inertia from his speed, his entire Mechanical Body soared nearly fifteen or sixteen meters high!
Simultaneously, the transformation into First Combat Form began; both drive wheels retracted while four Mechanical Arms extended outward. The Hunter's Longsword shot out with a whoosh, locking onto the Mechanical Beast as his mechanical waist spun clockwise twelve times like a meteor, slicing past the rear of the Mechanical Beast!
The attack missed!
It was just a hair's breadth away, but Lin Yuan had anticipated this situation long ago. Taking advantage of the moment when his body was still soaring through the air, he swiftly switched the Mighty Bull High-Explosive Pistol held by his Fourth Mechanical Arm and aimed it at the Mechanical Beast that was so close, firing off three shots in quick succession.
However, the recoil from the Mighty Bull High-Explosive Pistol caused him to lose his balance. Like a kite with a severed string, he crashed to the ground, tumbling several times before finally regaining control.
But that was hardly a concern, as the Mechanical Beast that had been tracking him was finally hit and fell to the ground.
Yet, what was that sound of crackling?
As Lin Yuan approached to take a look, a chill ran down his spine. Indeed, this was not a Mutated Mechanical Beast at all; it was clearly some sort of artificial tracking device. No wonder it had relentlessly pursued him for so long.
"Could it be a Mutant?" Lin Yuan thought at first, but then dismissed the idea. If it were a Mutant's reconnaissance Mechanical Beast, they would have come to capture him long ago.
After pondering for a moment, Lin Yuan immediately activated his Intelligent Brain Encyclopedia to conduct a scan.
The results left him somewhat stunned; this was actually an Artificial Intelligence Robot developed by Earth Humans before the Energy Crisis erupted, primarily responsible for surveillance and search duties.
Understanding this, Lin Yuan wasted no time. He took out various assembly and modification tools he carried with him and swiftly dismantled the wreckage of the Artificial Intelligence Robot into pieces.
