The sheer number of drones was enough to send chills down Lin Yuan's spine. This was far more formidable than the Zerg, as the main strength of the Ninth Legion certainly did not rely solely on drones. Even if these drones accounted for 5% of their overall power, that was impressive.
No wonder the Ninth Legion could storm into the Dark Nebula and establish a firm foothold there, making it difficult for even the powerful Dark Demon Race to contend with them.
Lin Yuan couldn't help but recall the vast Alien Battlefield at the wormhole exit, a battlefield littered with wreckage that was merely a hair on the body of the Ninth Legion.
Just how immense and terrifying was this Ninth Legion?
Amidst this overwhelming shock, the drone combat group Lin Yuan belonged to quietly flew into a Blaze-Class Battleship, like weary birds returning to their nest.
The entire process remained orderly, with no chaos whatsoever; even their flying speed did not decrease in the slightest. Lin Yuan only had time to gain a brief understanding of the Blaze-Class Interstellar Battleship before he and the Seventh Drone Squadron passed through a massive entrance into its interior.
Inside the Blaze-Class Interstellar Battleship, however, things were quite different. The entrance connected to four separate flow channels—up, down, left, and right—all controlled by Intellect. Each drone squadron had its own designated flow channel.
The Seventh Drone Squadron took the uppermost flow channel, which required them to execute a straight ascent at a 90-degree angle within a thousand meters.
To be honest, this wasn't particularly difficult. The challenge lay in the fact that tens of thousands of drones were flying in close formation; even the slightest error could lead to chaos. Thus, Lin Yuan felt quite tense, fearing any mistakes. Fortunately, everything went smoothly.
Once they entered the flow channel, they maintained high-speed flight until they ascended about fifteen kilometers. Then they encountered a second flow channel that branched off in four directions: continuing upward, turning left at a 90-degree angle, turning right at a 90-degree angle, or moving forward at a 90-degree angle.
After this branching, they officially entered the drone storage bay. Despite being a storage area, it still had vast space where each squadron of drones landed on large platforms according to their respective team numbers. Finally, it was time for the Seventh Drone Squadron to descend from their constant speed onto their designated platform.
This enormous platform resembled a treadmill and was slowly moving. However, Lin Yuan was astonished when his disguised F-910 drone landed; it was immediately drawn in by a tremendous force from the platform and became unable to move.
This almost made Lin Yuan think he had been discovered, but he quickly realized that this was just a normal procedure. As soon as the entire Seventh Drone Squadron had landed, the platform began to rush forward, swiftly passing through a massive hub-like entrance and into another unknown area, occasionally brushing past other platforms.
When the Moving Platform finally came to a stop, it had entered an even larger space filled with drones and scattered drone components. What sent chills down Lin Yuan's spine was the sight of countless Autonomous Repair Robotic Arms, clearly of high maintenance grade, working methodically to inspect each drone. The moment they detected even the slightest flaw, they would immediately remove the drone from the platform, repair it with a flurry of activity, and then return it.
“Oh no, oh no!”
Lin Yuan never imagined that these drones would undergo such an ordeal after completing their missions. This was like a scene from a horror story. Although he had no flaws in appearance or identification code, how could he possibly fool these advanced repair hands?
To make matters worse, he was completely immobilized by the platform's immense suction force.
Even if he could move, what could he do? Charge out? That would be absurd!
In an instant, Lin Yuan found himself at a loss, helplessly watching as the Moving Platform carried his Seventh Drone Squadron forward. Almost immediately, several Repair Mechanical Arms rushed over, scanning him with rapid movements.
“It’s over! It’s over!”
Lin Yuan wailed inwardly.
As expected, after inspecting Lin Yuan's drone, two Repair Mechanical Arms immediately lit up with severe red alerts. His Mechanical Body was lifted lightly and moved aside, first secured onto a special rack. Then he watched as those two Repair Mechanical Arms began to disassemble him with a flurry of activity; as they did so, their red alert lights flashed again.
Clearly, the situation was dire.
Just when Lin Yuan hesitated about whether to risk everything and fight his way out, three more Repair Mechanical Arms rushed in, bringing with them a large number of Mechanical Parts.
Lin Yuan, though not very familiar with these Mechanical Parts, could tell that they were indeed the components from the Black Bat-9 drone, and they were remarkably new.
In that moment, Lin Yuan finally let out a sigh of relief; it seemed the problem wasn't too serious. Since the ones responsible for repairs were all Repair Mechanical Arms, as long as the identification code passed, they would ignore anything outside of their programmed tasks and proceed with differential repairs.
However, a new problem arose. Lin Yuan was eager to have these two Repair Mechanical Arms fully outfit his Third Combat Form with the Black Bat-9 drone's equipment.
But what about his First Form? It would surely be treated as a damaged Part by the Repair Mechanical Arms and dismantled.
At this point, Lin Yuan couldn't think of a better solution and could only watch helplessly as the two Repair Mechanical Arms quickly and skillfully replaced the main Parts originally belonging to the Pterosaur H- with those of the Black Bat-9, while also equipping various weapons that had been lacking from the start.
Once everything was completed, the most troublesome situation occurred. The two Repair Mechanical Arms discovered Lin Yuan's more complex First Form along with a multitude of indescribable auxiliary Parts.
These clearly exceeded the management scope of the two Repair Mechanical Arms' main program, causing them to temporarily enter a state of pause.
At this moment, Lin Yuan had no choice but to take a risk. His Mechanical Body moved slightly, just enough to brush against the two Repair Mechanical Arms, and then he released Claire's super virus.
Now, he could only pray that Claire's super virus combined with the a180 Punisher System would do the trick; otherwise, things would truly take a turn for the worse. (To be continued.)
