In the Five-Dimensional Key Space, Lin Yuan was busy, working quickly for his own life and future happiness.
He rapidly crafted two hollow iron hemispheres, each with a diameter of five meters. This was no challenge for him; using pure energy as a driving force, he refined some scrap Alloy Steel that had an Enhancement Level not exceeding zero to accomplish this.
Next, he began to fill the interiors with Blue Ice Crystal Material, which could be used to create Icy Condensation Shells. This material was highly valuable and very unstable, typically stored within a three-layer protective casing.
To ensure the best results and alleviate his concerns about the Firestone High-Explosive Round he was creating, Lin Yuan removed the first two layers of protection, leaving only a thin final layer. He then neatly arranged the materials inside the two massive hemispheres and secured them with a layer of specialized plastic. With that, half of his task was complete.
Following this, Lin Yuan needed to produce the Firestone High-Explosive Round. This part was much simpler since it was notoriously unstable, akin to a riled-up boar. He didn’t need to perform any additional processing; he merely filled the remaining space in both iron hemispheres with ample Firestone raw materials and buried a ten-second countdown detonator. Finally, he slowly brought the two hemispheres together.
Once everything was set, Lin Yuan immediately activated the detonator's timer. At the same time, he fully engaged his Energy Shield and embraced the massive iron sphere before swiftly exiting the Five-Dimensional Key Space. As expected, he found himself back inside the cold Metal Coffin.
The frigid air enveloped Lin Yuan in an instant; his energy shield barely functioned against such terrifying cold!
Fortunately, Lin Yuan didn’t need to stay long. After dropping the heavy iron sphere, he quickly returned to the Five-Dimensional Key Space after one second!
It wasn’t until he returned that Lin Yuan noticed that 80% of his Mechanical Body had already been deeply frozen!
How terrifying! He couldn’t fathom where those rebels had acquired such dreadful freezing energy; it was a Killing Weapon against Mechanical Warriors! Of course, it would be equally effective against other life forms!

While calculating time, Lin Yuan controlled his Energy Engine to thaw his Mechanical Body. However, this was precisely the insidious nature of that cold; even if freezing stopped, it would take two or three hours to completely thaw out. As Lin Yuan grumbled internally, outside in the Five-Dimensional Key Space, the Ice Bomb he had created entered its countdown—extremely precise and effective. They welcomed their own kind but remained unmoved by any other substance!
So who wouldn’t be passionate about ice? When they became enthusiastic, it truly became deadly!
In just a mere 0.001 seconds, the cold air inside the Metal Coffin suddenly doubled in intensity, then quickly shrank to the size of a grain of rice, only to rapidly expand again—this time to a full ten times its previous size. It continued to contract and expand, over and over, like a violent and terrifying oscillation.
Under this immense cycle of contraction and expansion, the specially designed Metal Coffin, with an Enhancement Level of 90 points, also began to swell and shrink repeatedly. To an outside observer, it appeared as if Lin Yuan inside was going mad, desperately trying to escape.
Alarm bells rang out as elite members of the resistance quickly surrounded the area from all directions. They were astonished; they never expected that Lin Yuan could create such a commotion in this place—after all, it was said that even devils could be frozen by the Comet Core Cold!
“Everyone stay calm; this is our territory. He can't escape! Get ready to capture him!” shouted one of the resistance leaders confidently. This specially designed Alloy Coffin was a product of Mechanical City’s military technology, specifically made for capturing Mechanical Warriors below a certain level. How could an E1 level Mechanical Warrior possibly break free?
As if to underscore his words, the Alloy Coffin shrank once more and then suddenly stopped expanding.
One second passed. Two seconds. Three seconds. Still no movement.
“Let’s see, what was I saying? That guy…”
“Boom!”
A dull sound suddenly erupted as the Alloy Coffin with an Enhancement Level of 90 points shattered into pieces at that moment, propelled outward by an immense force. There were no screams; the terrifying cold contained within those fragments instantly sliced through everyone nearby before freezing them in place, perfectly preserving the scene in that moment.
From above, the entire process resembled a dazzling icy storm surging outward in all directions. The entire building lay within the reach of this icy tempest, leaving no one unscathed.
But even more terrifying was that this was not the end; the Comet Core Cold was known for its stability. Unlike other forms of cold that would dissipate into the surrounding environment once released from confinement, unless exposed to something as hot as a stellar core, it would ultimately revert to its stable state!
This led to catastrophic casualties; each expansion was immediately followed by a contraction, and with every expansion came an increase in range. It went through this cycle five or six times, attacking an area that extended over ten kilometers in radius.
Finally, when all life and objects within this range had been turned into ice sculptures, it stabilized into a comet core no larger than a fist! This core was completely stable; it would not release even a hint of coldness. Even touching it would not reveal any chill; only through stronger and specialized methods could it be awakened and reformed.
Lin Yuan had no idea what was happening outside; he only knew that the Ice Bomb might have a chance to blow open the Metal Coffin. His best opportunity for escape would be during the brief moment after the Alloy Coffin was destroyed.
Thus, he desperately tried to resolve the deep freeze afflicting his Mechanical Body. However, this was something even Claire found helpless against—the depth of this freeze was incredibly severe. It wasn't just ice covering him; it penetrated deep into the material itself, freezing even its fundamental components. On the surface, everything seemed normal, but in reality, it was critically damaged and would take at least two or three hours to recover even partially!
Lin Yuan could not let this chance for escape slip away before his eyes. Therefore, after several seconds of contemplation, he made a decisive choice: he would dismantle all frozen parts of his Mechanical Body. Although this would significantly reduce his combat effectiveness, there was no time left.
Dismantling was Lin Yuan's forte—especially when it came to his own Mechanical Body that he knew inside out.
With the last of his Mechanical Arms, Lin Yuan swiftly dismantled most of his Mechanical Body in less than twenty seconds. He shrank from a height of twenty meters to a mere three, a pitiful sight, with most of his functions lost.
However, as long as he could escape, he didn't care. In the final ten seconds, he rummaged through the scraps he had collected and managed to pull together a dozen Mechanical Parts to install on his damaged Mechanical Body. This would allow him to walk and also help conceal his identity.
Once everything was set, Lin Yuan dove out of the Five-Dimensional Key Space just as the core of the comet stabilized right before him. He hadn’t bothered to study this object closely and certainly didn’t realize it was the source of the disaster affecting a ten-kilometer radius.
He casually grabbed it, a habit of swiping things without much thought, and tossed it into the Five-Dimensional Key Space. After all, it was intriguing that this object could float in mid-air.
But in the next moment, when Lin Yuan retracted all images from his Auditory Radar, he was shocked. He couldn't believe how severe Claire's situation had become; it was far worse than he had imagined!
"Damn it!"
He cursed inwardly and wasted no time turning around to weave through countless frozen figures before rushing to the edge of a building. He leaped into the air; fortunately, although he had dismantled his flying wings, he still retained two short feathers that allowed him to glide.
In no time at all, Lin Yuan glided nearly ten kilometers away while witnessing the immense tragedy that had just unfolded. It seemed at least five buildings in the vicinity had residents frozen solid or even dead.
Yet for Lin Yuan, this was no longer a concern.
