"You’re awake!" Sima Chuan said as he brought tea to the person's bedside.
"Yes."
"Do you want something to eat?"
"No, thank you! May I ask…"
"Just say what you want."
"Right, there’s no need to be so formal!" Luo Mengqi suddenly chimed in. Sima Chuan was startled and patted his chest. "Don’t scare me like that!"
"Hey! You’re the one who gets scared easily, and now you’re blaming me."
"Alright, I won’t tease you anymore."
"Hehe! You two really look like a couple!" As soon as those words were spoken, Sima Chuan felt a bit embarrassed. Luo Mengqi's face turned slightly red as she lowered her head and softly said, "No way!"
"Then may I ask what you want to know?" Sima Chuan broke the awkward silence.
"I want to ask," the person leaned back against the headboard, and Sima Chuan quickly supported him. "How did I end up here? Who are you?"
"Oh! It’s like this. We destroyed Nai's Mechanical Manufacturing Plant and rescued you."
"Yes! You should thank us!" Luo Mengqi interjected.
"Oh! Thank you both!"
"No need for that. It’s what we should do. Hello! My name is Sima Chuan." Sima Chuan extended his right hand.
"I am Luo Mengqi," she said, extending her right hand just like Sima Chuan had done.
"Hello, I am Sente," Sente replied, reaching out his hand to respond to Sima Chuan and the others.
As they were talking, Qiong pulled Sima Chuan aside. "I need to talk to you about something."
"Sure!"
"It's not convenient here."
"Then let's go!" With that, the two of them headed towards the stage.
Sima Chuan paused and asked, "What do you want to tell me?"
Qiong turned around. "His name is Sente."
"I know that."
"He is a mechanical general."
"What?" Sima Chuan was somewhat skeptical.
"Yes, Sente was modified after Luo Mengqi was rescued by Sade Sage."
"How did that happen?"
"What was the situation like after you went inside?"
Sima Chuan told Qiong the truth. "So that's how it is."
"What do you mean?" Sima Chuan asked, puzzled.
"The reason Sente came to Earth is to steal the data of the Mechanical Warrior's body. Then, they plan to replicate the Mechanical Warrior and use it against you."
"How could this happen? How do you know this?"
"It's because Sade Sage accidentally saw it while intercepting alien communications."
"What?"
"To be clear, Sade Sage is watching you and me from somewhere on Earth. He can send me information at any time about what I need to do."
"I see now, I understand."
"By the way, there's one more thing."
"What is it?"
"Sente belongs to the fire-type machinery. If you don't believe me, you can ask Luo Mengqi. Machines of the same type can sense each other."
"I know what to do now." With that, he turned and left. Sima Chuan thought to himself, "I really need to investigate this thoroughly; I've truly pushed myself into the enemy's trap this time."
"What? What's going on?" Nai asked, somewhat confused.
"It's like this: when we issued the command, it was intercepted by an unidentified person," Booth reported from the side.
"Has any other information been intercepted?"
"Not yet, he only intercepted a portion."
"That's not too bad. Hurry up and find out who intercepted the information, then bring that person here."
"Understood."
A hint of unease flickered across Nai's face.
Sima Chuan patted Luo Mengqi on the shoulder, his expression somewhat grim.
"What? You mean he is a mechanical general?"
"Yes, that's what Qiong told me. I have another question for you."
"Go ahead."
"When you were with him, did you feel a sense of familiarity?"
Luo Mengqi furrowed his brow and thought for a moment before saying, "It seems like I did." As soon as the words left his mouth, he felt something was off and quickly asked, "Hey! What do you mean by that?"
"Nothing much, just asking casually."
"I'm telling you, don't mess around with this."
"I understand, don't worry."
"That's for the best."
"Actually..."
"What?"
"Yes?"
Sima Chuan approached Sente and said, "Can I ask you a few questions?"
"Sure, go ahead!"
"How did you end up there?"
Sente merely sighed, a hint of sadness appearing on his face.
Sima Chuan was puzzled. "What's wrong?"
"I'm actually an alien."
"What?"
"Yes, I'm an ordinary warrior from Planet DR-5, sent by Lady Nayi to guard the Mechanical Manufacturing Plant on Earth. It was only after I arrived that I realized I was chosen to be a test subject." Sente's tone grew somewhat angry.
"So how are you doing now? Are you okay?" Sima Chuan asked with concern.
"I'm fine. It's just that I don't know what I'll become in the future!" Sente turned his head away, gazing out at the empty sky.
Sima Chuan could only leave quietly.
"What happened?" Qiong rushed to Sima Chuan's side.
Sima Chuan rested his chin on his hand, looking down. He said softly, "If what you said is true, then I can only conclude that his acting skills are exceptional."
"What should we do next?"
"Let's just wait and see."
Luo Mengqi remained in the room with Sente. She poured a cup of tea and handed it to Sente, asking, "What was your past like?"
"My past?" Sente smiled wryly.
"Yes! What happened?"
"I was a warrior on Planet DR-5. We people from DR-5 cherish and pursue peace. Our lives were always very calm. However, as time went by, the technological power of our planet grew stronger. Thus, we needed larger laboratories to meet the demands, and some scientists began to think about invasion and occupation." Sente paused for a moment.
"What happened next?" Luo Mengqi pressed on.
"Later, other scientists expressed their opposition and suggested researching spatial technology to develop our territory. But those who wanted to invade found that researching space was too laborious and required excessive funding and time. If they didn't handle the technology properly, it could end up trapping people in space," Sente sighed.
"So how did you end up on Earth?"
"I was sent here to investigate matters concerning the Mechanical Manufacturing Plant on Earth."
"The Mechanical Manufacturing Plant?"
"Yes! We received news that a Mechanical Manufacturing Plant on Earth was built by some technologists from our planet. So I came to investigate, but I never expected this!" Sente said as he looked out the window again.
Luo Mengqi thought to herself, "Alright! Sima Chuan, what do you mean Sente is an alien invader? Hmph! You'll be dead soon."
Luo Mengqi stood up and said, "I'm going out first!"
"Okay!" Sente turned his head to see Luo Mengqi off.
Sima Chuan was sitting on the carpet meditating when Luo Mengqi suddenly punched him hard on the head. Sima Chuan yelped in pain, "What was that for?" while rubbing his sore head.
"What about you?" Luo Mengqi retorted.
"How would I know? Besides, you didn't have to hit me so hard! It hurts!"
"How could you not know?"
"Well, you tell me!"
"You think Sente is part of an alien invasion, but I don't think he seems like one at all."
"You're just going by your feelings."
"I'm telling you, my instincts are usually spot on."
"Is that so? Sometimes feelings can be misleading."
"I don't believe that. What are you going to do about it?"
"Then do as you wish."
At that moment, Sente walked out of the room. Luo Mengqi hurried forward to support Sente and asked with concern, "How are you feeling? Do you need to rest some more?"
"No, I want to go out for a walk and clear my mind."
"Do you need me to go with you?"
"No, thank you!"
"You really don't need me!" Luo Mengqi accompanied Sente to the door. Sente turned around and said to Luo Mengqi, "Please head back! It's quite cold outside! I can manage on my own."
"Alright! Be careful on your way."
Sima Chuan watched all of this unfold and was about to follow when he was stopped by Luo Mengqi. She shot him a glare. With no other choice, Sima Chuan could only watch as Sente gradually walked away. He then returned to the living room.
Suddenly, a flash of lightning streaked across the sky, brightening everything.
Qiong quietly gazed into the sky. At that moment, footsteps approached from behind and stopped not far from her. Qiong turned around. "Is it you?"
The person replied, "Yes! What's wrong?"
"It seems I was indeed right."
"That's correct; you were right, but soon you won't be anymore."
"What do you mean?"
"You will leave for a while."
"So that's how it is."
"If you're here, Sima Chuan will be much harder to deal with. If you leave, he won't be a problem."
"Is that so?" Just as Qiong finished speaking, the person rushed over quickly. Before Qiong could react, the person grabbed her.
"Dealing with you? Hmph! Too easy. Let's go!"
Without uttering a word, Qiong fell to the ground.
"Ah!" Sima Chuan felt a sudden headache.
"What's wrong?" Luo Mengqi asked from the side.
"I can sense Akaper crying out. Ah! My head hurts so much!"
"What?"
"Qiong!" Sima Chuan heard Akaper's call. "Not good, something happened to Qiong." He dashed toward the stage, with Luo Mengqi following closely behind.
Upon reaching the back of the stage, Sima Chuan was stunned. "How could this happen?"
"What’s wrong?"
Sima Chuan seemed not to hear Luo Mengqi's question and shouted, "Qiong!"
"What happened? You!" Luo Mengqi shouted at Sima Chuan.
Sima Chuan merely replied softly, "Qiong is missing!"
"What?"
"Lady Nayi, the plan is proceeding smoothly. It should be completed soon."
"That's good, Paswo. Have we identified the one intercepting our information?"
"Reporting to you, my lord, we have not yet found them."
"What?"
"Yes, this person is very well hidden."
"Quickly find out who it is."
"Yes."
"Hmph! They think they can investigate me; it's not time yet. Chuan, listen carefully. Qiong has been kidnapped and is underground at the Mechanical Manufacturing Plant. You must find her yourself and do not act impulsively!"
