Sima Chuan woke up early and sat in a relatively secluded spot on the island, lost in thought. He had been having the same dream repeatedly, where a girl appeared, flickering in and out of view, constantly calling out to him.
He wished he could empty his mind to think, but no matter how hard he tried, his thoughts remained blank.
Suddenly, someone tapped him on the shoulder, jolting him back to reality.
The person behind him spoke, "What are you thinking about?"
Sima Chuan turned around to see Liu Chuan. He sighed in relief and replied, "Nothing much. Even if I were thinking, I wouldn't come up with anything."
"Oh."
After a moment of silence, Liu Chuan asked, "How long have we been here?"
"About four or five days."
"It's time to head back."
"When are we leaving?"
"We'll wait until they wake up."
"Oh."
Soon after, Shang Qiong and the others gradually woke from their slumber. After breakfast, Liu Chuan instructed everyone to pack their belongings. They all understood it was time to return and quietly organized their gear. Before long, seeing that everyone was ready, Liu Chuan led them back.
Once they returned, Liu Chuan and the others freshened up in their rooms. The six of them changed into matching white outfits, while Sima Chuan remained in his usual clothes. With questions in mind, he sought out Liu Chuan, who had gone to the hall. Following Liu Chuan into the hall, Sima Chuan saw a large wooden chair at the center where Liu Bin was seated. Liu Bin was also dressed in white and wore a slightly serious expression on his face. Shang Qiong and the others stood on either side of Liu Bin; it seemed that only Liu Chuan was missing from this gathering.
Liu Chuan walked up to Liu Bin, bowed, and greeted him with "Master, hello." Just as he was about to say something else, Liu Bin interrupted him. Liu Bin said directly, "Chuan'er, there's no need for formalities. Your junior brothers and sisters have already informed me about everything. You can take your place now."
"Yes." Liu Chuan bowed again and filled the vacant position.
Liu Bin waved at Sima Chuan, signaling him to come over. Sima Chuan approached Liu Bin and, before Liu Bin could speak, he voiced his question directly. "I wonder why Master Liu called us here?"
Upon hearing this, Liu Bin chuckled but quickly stifled his laughter. He said kindly to Sima Chuan, "Sima Chuan, I see something extraordinary in you. Not only do you have remarkable bones, but you also possess hidden strength beyond the ordinary. If you follow me to learn martial arts, you will surely achieve great things in the future. Would you be willing to stay and become my disciple?"
"Disciple?"
"Yes. The reason I called you here is to take you as my student."
Sima Chuan thought for a moment; since he had lost his memory and didn’t know where to go, it would be better to stay here for now. Perhaps it would be easier to find out about his past.
Seeing Sima Chuan lost in thought, Liu Bin quickly asked, "So? Sima Chuan, have you made up your mind?"
Sima Chuan nodded and replied, "Alright."
Liu Bin stood up happily and said, "You should rest for now; tomorrow we will hold the ceremony for you to become my disciple."
It was now deep winter, with biting cold winds. At this time of year, the nights in Fucheng were always quiet and peaceful.
For some reason, Sima Chuan felt particularly drowsy tonight. As soon as he lay down on the bed, sleepiness washed over him, and he quickly fell into a deep slumber. As time passed into the depths of the night, a faint blue light began to emanate from Sima Chuan's body. Gradually, this blue light spread out until it suddenly burst forth into the air.
On the other side of Fucheng, a red glow began to radiate as well, fiery like flames. This crimson light surged into the sky and collided with the faint blue light, creating a tremendous energy that lasted for several seconds before abruptly vanishing.
Lai Liqing was suddenly awakened from his rest, sensing a power beyond his own. An uneasy feeling began to stir within him as he quickly got up, using his instincts to locate a place on the map of Earth—Fucheng.
He started to laugh, speaking to himself in the vast room, "No matter how powerful you are, right now you're just an immature bird. You can't hide that. I want to see how you plan to fight against an eagle." With that, he transmitted a message to Ouyang Qi and the others, instructing them to intensify their training and prepare for their journey to Earth. In fact, Lai Liqing himself needed to step up his training as well. He understood that even if his opponent was still a fledgling bird, the power radiating from them was enough to overwhelm him. If that power could be fully unleashed, even an ordinary bird could evolve into an eagle. At that point, not just Lai Liqing, but even ten of him might not stand a chance.
Luo Mengqi suddenly sat up in bed. She sensed it—the power of Sima Chuan—close by in Fucheng. However, it seemed overwhelmingly strong. Nevertheless, Luo Mengqi smiled. Just as she was about to drift back to sleep, her eyes caught sight of something beside her bed.
"How did you end up here?" It was a sword named Canghong, uniquely hers, quietly resting against the side of the bed. Originally, Luo Mengqi could have happily fallen asleep with dreams of joy, but now she could only continue to sleep with a hint of curiosity.
Liu Chuan had already gotten out of bed early to call for Sima Chuan. Sima Chuan had also rested well and stretched comfortably. He intended to open the door when he noticed a sword suddenly leaning against his bed. He wanted to pick it up, but Liu Chuan was urging him from outside the door, so he had no choice but to open it first.
As soon as Sima Chuan opened the door, Liu Chuan barged in. Before Sima Chuan could say anything, Liu Chuan spotted the sword by the bed and directly asked him, "Hey, Sima Chuan."
"What?"
"How come I’ve never seen you with anything before, and now there’s suddenly a sword?"
"I don’t know how it appeared either."
"Then let me borrow it for a bit!" Liu Chuan reached for the sword, but no matter how hard he tried, it remained firmly resting against Sima Chuan's bed as if it were completely dependent on him.
Seeing Liu Chuan's actions, Sima Chuan couldn't help but ask curiously, "What? Aren't you going to take it for a spin?"
Liu Chuan had no choice but to give up and answered Sima Chuan's question: "I wanted to play with it, but this sword just won’t budge."
"How is that possible?" Sima Chuan was skeptical.
"Yes. No matter how hard I try, it just won't budge."
"Really?" Sima Chuan walked over to Liu Chuan's side and casually picked up the sword. "It's clearly very light."
Liu Chuan didn't believe it and tried again, but still couldn't lift it. "It seems this sword can only be wielded by its master!"
Just then, a voice came from outside the door. "Sima Chuan, hurry up and get ready; it's almost time."
"Okay, I'm coming."
After Sima Chuan tidied himself up, he and Liu Chuan went out together.
Once everything was prepared, the apprenticeship ceremony began. Liu Bin started reading some regulations about their sect. Liu Bin found it somewhat tedious and just skimmed through it casually. Then, Liu Chuan held out the robe and personally helped Sima Chuan put it on. After changing into the robe, Liu Bin officially accepted Sima Chuan as his disciple. In order of seniority, Sima Chuan became the seventh junior disciple. Finally, after the formalities were completed, the ceremony ended.
Liu Chuan and the others joyfully gathered around. When Shang Qiong tried to pull Sima Chuan to the training grounds for a look, she was stopped by Liu Chuan. Shang Qiong shot Liu Chuan a glare and said, "What do you want?"
"I don't want anything; I just want to make a bet with you," Liu Chuan replied with a light smile.
"What kind of bet?"
