Just as Sima Chuan turned to leave, a loud female voice rang out from the crowd, "Wait a moment."
Everyone turned to see a girl in her teens. She added, "I want to play with you."
Sima Chuan looked at the girl, his brows furrowing. Before long, she stood right in front of him. As he gazed at her, he couldn't help but recall the figure from his dreams. For some reason, he felt there was a connection between them, but he couldn't quite figure out what it was.
The murmurs among the audience began again, but Sima Chuan and the girl ignored them.
"Who are you?" Sima Chuan felt he should know this girl.
Luo Mengqi snorted coldly. "You actually forgot about me? I'll make sure you remember."
"It seems you know me. Can you tell me about my past?" Sima Chuan felt a flicker of hope; after so long of amnesia, finally someone recognized him.
"Sure, but only if you can beat me first."
"So if I win, you'll tell me everything you know about me?"
"Exactly." Without warning, Luo Mengqi launched a whip kick at him. Sima Chuan barely had time to react; he felt a sharp pain in his waist. Then she followed up with a left punch aimed at his head. Fortunately, he managed to block it; otherwise, he would have definitely been bleeding by now. In just one second, Luo Mengqi had thrown two attacks that forced Sima Chuan to take a step back, all while he was still unprepared.
"Hey, this is getting interesting," someone in the audience remarked.
"This girl is pretty tough; which school is she from?"
"You can tell she's a fierce one. I wonder if that guy on stage can handle her!"
Lai Liqing watched as Luo Mengqi went up, suddenly filled with interest. "I didn't expect them to fight; this is quite rare. I have to watch closely."
"If they end up injuring each other, we can just sit back and reap the benefits," Dark Qiong said happily. He hoped that Sima Chuan and Luo Mengqi would end up in a serious clash, though he knew that was unlikely.
"Who is that woman? She seems trained. Is Sima Chuan going to be okay?" Shang Qiong asked, a hint of worry in her voice.
Liu Chuan, on the other hand, looked excited. "Now this is going to be a show! But don't worry, Chuan won't lose."
"Really?" Shang Qiong still felt uneasy. She looked at Liu Chuan with doubt, hoping he could provide her with a reassuring answer.
Just then, Liu Bin spoke up. "Sima Chuan has trained before too. Now he's mastered the Carefree Sword Technique to perfection, and he has a powerful force within him. He shouldn't lose."
Hearing this, Shang Qiong finally relaxed. Liu Feng was also excited by Liu Bin's words; after all, every year they witnessed predictable and dull matches, but now there was an intriguing contest ahead. He immediately took out his prized mini camera. "This is going to be spectacular! I need to record it so I can watch it later."
Hong Chen returned carrying some items and looked at Luo Mengqi on stage with curiosity. "What is Mengqi doing up there? It can't be a fight, right? That's a guy!"
Yiling smiled lightly. "It's not a fight; it's more like a lesson."
"A lesson? What kind of lesson?" Hong Chen was confused by Yiling's vague response.
"I'll explain directly. The guy on stage is Sima Chuan, the husband our eldest sister has been searching for for a long time. Seeing him here safe and sound while she worries herself sick creates an imbalance in her heart, so naturally, she has to go teach him a lesson."
Hong Chen finally understood, but a hint of worry crept in. "Will Mengqi get hurt?"
Yiling shook her head helplessly. It wasn't Hong Chen's fault; he simply didn't know anything. "Sima Chuan wouldn't dare hit his wife unless he wanted to end up dead, and besides, he wouldn't stand a chance."
"Wouldn't stand a chance?" Even Geng Qing, who was standing nearby, was surprised.
"Yeah, he's lost before," Yiling replied. "Sima Chuan lost."
Hong Chen and Geng Qing were astonished, momentarily at a loss for words.
However, Yiling was referring to the past; the current Sima Chuan was different. Moreover, he had lost his memory and was now oblivious to everything. Who would win or lose remained to be seen.
At that moment, Luo Mengqi stood opposite Sima Chuan, a slight smile on her face as her body began to emanate crimson flames. Sima Chuan was taken aback, feeling an invisible force enveloping him, making it difficult for him to move. The flames surrounding Luo Mengqi continued to blaze, transforming her into a fiery figure.
Yet, aside from Sima Chuan, Yiling, and Lai Liqing, the others couldn't see this spectacle at all. They could only watch quietly as Sima Chuan and Luo Mengqi prepared for their next moves. If anyone else had seen Luo Mengqi's flames, they would have been utterly astonished and might have even rushed to douse her with water. If Hong Chen had seen the fire on Luo Mengqi, he would definitely have thrown water on her.
"What’s going on? Is that fire your energy?"
Luo Mengqi smirked mockingly. "I didn't expect you to remember this flame. Well then, let me remind you." With that, she swiftly executed a sweeping kick aimed at Sima Chuan. The force was so strong that he could only take a step back. Little did he know that Luo Mengqi had seized his right hand and pulled him forward, driving her knee directly into his stomach.
But that wasn't the end; Luo Mengqi pivoted to Sima Chuan's left side and struck him down with a powerful palm strike. He immediately fell onto the wooden Arena floor without any mercy.
Cheers erupted from the audience, mixed with disdainful remarks about how Sima Chuan couldn't defeat a woman and how useless he was as a man.
It can't be blamed on Sima Chuan for being too weak; he simply lost his memory. During this time, he had hardly done anything, although he did practice his skills. Luo Mengqi, on the other hand, was different. While searching for Sima Chuan, she was also training in the Virtual Battlefield. That was equivalent to real combat, and her practical experience and combat abilities had naturally improved significantly. It was no surprise that Sima Chuan ended up in such a state.
While the audience cheered from below, Shang Qiong felt a sense of worry, even Liu Chuan was not surprised. He quickly asked Liu Bin, "Master, weren't you worried about Sima Chuan? How did it come to this?"
"Yes, Grandpa, are you just being reckless?"
In response to their inquiries, Liu Bin merely smiled and remained silent.
Hong Chen paused while eating. She had expected an exciting show, but seeing the current scene left her astonished. "Yiling, is that Luo Mengqi? And is that man really her husband?"
Hearing Hong Chen's question made Yiling laugh. "Of course that's our eldest sister! Who else could it be? The guy who looks like that is definitely her husband; she's just teaching him a lesson. I believe he's used to it by now."
"Used to it? What does that even mean?" Hong Chen shook her head, unable to imagine further. She picked up some food and stuffed it into her mouth.
Seeing Sima Chuan's miserable state, Dark Qiong began to chuckle. "It seems that after staying here for so long, Sima Chuan hasn't gotten stronger; instead, he's become weaker. Now dealing with him will definitely be no problem."
"No," Lai Liqing interrupted Dark Qiong's fantasy. "Although he is just a copy, he understands Sima Chuan very well. Sima Chuan isn't that weak; it's just that Luo Mengqi acted too quickly for him to react. Just keep watching."
