As the first rays of sunlight streamed into Sima Chuan's room, he gradually opened his eyes and stretched lazily while sitting up in bed. "Last night was exhausting," he muttered to himself before finally getting out of bed.
After freshening up, Sima Chuan stepped out of his room, only to find the place unusually quiet. He decided to grab a quick bite and then lay on the rooftop, enjoying the tranquility of the morning.
Qiong came over and lay down beside him. "Chuan, when do you plan to go find Battleship?"
"Maybe tomorrow! Let's enjoy today!" Sima Chuan replied with a gentle smile.
"It's quite nice, the sun is warm and there's a cool breeze."
"Too bad they're still sleeping."
"Who’s still sleeping?" Just as Sima Chuan finished speaking, a slightly annoyed female voice came from behind him.
"Luo Mengqi?" Sima Chuan turned around, holding his head, then lay back down again.
"Hey! When are you planning to leave?" Luo Mengqi sat beside Sima Chuan and nudged him.
"First, we need to find Battleship! Only then can we leave."
"Oh, so when are you going to look for it?"
"Tomorrow, Qiong and I are ready."
Luo Mengqi angrily kicked Sima Chuan's leg, causing him to almost cry out in pain. "What’s wrong?" he asked, rubbing his foot.
"Hmph!" Luo Mengqi pouted and asked, "Do you want to stay here?"
"The weather is great today!" Sima Chuan said as he looked at the sky and gazed at the distant scenery.
"Aren't you supposed to listen to me?" Luo Mengqi feigned a sense of grievance.
Hearing this, Sima Chuan seemed to recall the time when he had amnesia. "Yes, I do listen to you, but just for today. Besides, the weather is so nice; it would be a waste not to enjoy it."
"If you don't leave, I'll make you beg me to let you go."
"Don't worry! I will definitely leave. If I don't, you can handle me however you want."
"Are you sure?"
"I am sure," Sima Chuan said, pretending to be serious.
"Mm-hmm." Luo Mengqi stood up, stretched lazily, breathed in the fresh air, and felt the sun and the cool breeze. Just as she was about to speak, she heard Qiong mumble, "Isn't polygamy quite normal now? As long as Sima Chuan resolves it, everything will be fine."
Although the voice was low, both Sima Chuan and Luo Mengqi heard it, and the atmosphere suddenly became awkward.
Luo Mengqi looked at Sima Chuan, who didn’t know how to respond and could only smile awkwardly. In a fit of anger, Luo Mengqi kicked Sima Chuan and then turned to leave. However, when she saw Shang Qiong walking over, she immediately turned back to Sima Chuan.
Sima Chuan lightly punched Qiong on the side, but she dodged. "Do you know that some things shouldn't be said so casually?"
Qiong feigned innocence and said, "How is it casual? It's just a fact! Polygamy is quite normal! Besides, I'm thinking about your lifelong happiness."
"Ah..." Sima Chuan had no words left. At that moment, he suddenly felt someone lying next to him, so close.
"Aren't you leaving?" Sima Chuan asked in confusion.
"Do you not want me here? If you don't want me around, I'll leave right away," Luo Mengqi said as she pinched Sima Chuan angrily.
"No, no! I'm just curious!"
"I'm worried you'll run off with someone else, so I came back to keep an eye on you."
Sima Chuan couldn't argue with Luo Mengqi's explanation; he could only silently accept it and then lay back down with his eyes closed.
"Chuan, good morning!"
At that moment, Sima Chuan heard a gentle female voice behind him. Turning around, he saw Shang Qiong standing there.
Sima Chuan smiled slightly and said, "Good morning! Go ahead!"
Shang Qiong sat down and asked, "Chuan, when are you leaving?"
"I'll go look for the Battleship tomorrow. Once I find it, I'll be leaving."
"That soon?" Shang Qiong looked a bit disappointed.
"Of course! It's better to resolve things sooner rather than later!"
"Can you take me with you?"
"No." Just as Shang Qiong finished speaking, Luo Mengqi firmly rejected her. This left Sima Chuan wanting to say something but unable to voice it.
"Really?" Shang Qiong looked at Sima Chuan with a glimmer of hope.
Sima Chuan nodded heavily. The last bit of hope for Shang Qiong faded away. But then she thought to herself, what right do I have? She felt a twinge of self-mockery. Just as she was about to leave, Sima Chuan grabbed her arm.
"Is there something else?" Shang Qiong's tone had turned somewhat cold. However, Sima Chuan was not angry; he simply smiled and comforted her, saying, "You don't have to go with me, but you can stay on Earth and fight alongside Lai Liqing and the others. That would also help me."
"What do you mean?"
"What we are going to do is very dangerous, but I will definitely come back. However, after I leave, I'm afraid someone might take the opportunity to come to Earth. At that point, Earth would truly be in danger. So I need to leave some people here. Lai Liqing is undoubtedly the best choice, but just the three of them won't be enough. So I want you all to assist him. Is that okay?" Sima Chuan looked at Shang Qiong earnestly. Her attitude finally softened.
"Alright, I promise you, Chuan. But you have to promise me too."
"I promise you anything." When Sima Chuan said this, Luo Mengqi snorted coldly from the side.
"I want you to come back alive." Tears glistened in the corners of Shang Qiong's eyes.
Sima Chuan smiled and said, "Don't worry; I will definitely come back alive."
"Be serious," Shang Qiong said, giving Sima Chuan a light punch.
"Are you two ignoring me?" Luo Mengqi shouted angrily from the side.
"Hey, Chuan, did you hear something shouting and making a fuss?"
"Uh..."
"Are you looking for a fight?" Luo Mengqi said as she got into a fighting stance.
"Alright, I have something to do. You two should head back!" Sima Chuan quickly intervened to stop their quarrel; otherwise, he would be the one getting hurt in the end.
"Hmph!" The two girls snorted at each other and waved goodbye to Sima Chuan before leaving.
After Luo Mengqi and Shang Qiong walked away, Sima Chuan sat down next to Qiong. "Is everything settled with Lai Liqing and the others?"
"It's been settled for a while," Qiong replied casually.
"Who manages our area now?"
"Lei Chuan Sheng, the Director of the Cosmic Peace Base in this area, and also the highest authority."
"Alright, then let's contact him."
Somewhere in the Cosmic Peace Base.
"Director Lei, our base has been forcibly connected; he wants to speak with you directly," the young man from last time said urgently beside Lei Chuan Sheng.
"What happened? Forcibly connected? Have you found out why? And what does that person want?" Lei Chuan Sheng asked in rapid succession without moving.
"We haven't found anything, and we can't identify any issues. The base alarm didn't go off either. We checked thoroughly, and there was no sign of an intrusion."
Lei Chuan Sheng pondered for a moment before standing up. "Let's go! We should take a look."
"You're so slow!" Qiong complained.
"It's fine, just wait a bit longer."
Before long, Lei Chuan Sheng saw a young boy on the large screen, but the boy's face was completely calm, revealing nothing. Lei Chuan Sheng felt angry, believing this was a deliberate provocation, so he showed no kindness to Sima Chuan. "Are you the one who called for me?"
"Heh, are you angry?"
"Hmph!"
"Alright, let's get down to business." After a pause, Sima Chuan continued, "You detected an energy wave some time ago, but this energy wave belongs to an extraterrestrial source."
"What?" Lei Chuan Sheng was surprised but didn't show it.
"I know about that incident; I was there in person."
"What do you want?"
"An alien invasion." Sima Chuan stated those four words flatly.
"Impossible."
"Whether you believe it or not is your concern, not mine."
"You..."
Sima Chuan ignored Lei Chuan Sheng and continued, "You can't stand against the power of aliens, but I can have my brother and friends help you."
Lei Chuan Sheng was starting to believe some of it because previous investigation results indicated that an unknown force had appeared on Earth, but it remained uncertain. These matters needed to be taken seriously.
"What is your purpose in doing this?"
"Simply because of our mission," Sima Chuan replied earnestly.
"Alright, that's enough of that. If there's anything, just come directly to Liu Manor in Fucheng." As soon as Sima Chuan finished speaking, the connection was abruptly cut off.
"Director Lei, what about this?" asked the young man beside Lei Chuan Sheng.
"Zhang Dexin, report to the higher-ups first and see what they decide."
"I'll take care of it right away."
"Chuan, what do you think they will do?"
"I don't know."
"And us?"
"We just need to do what we are supposed to do." Sima Chuan lay back down. "Let's just enjoy today!"
