Sima Chuan and the others arrived at the entrance of the Star Palace. At first glance, the Star Palace appeared extremely solemn, with strict guards stationed everywhere. However, as they ventured further inside, they encountered a variety of flowers, trees, and colorful scenery, along with various buildings and specialty shops.
Inside the Star Palace, it could sometimes feel lively, not always exuding a sense of formality and seriousness. At the very back of the Star Palace were the quarters of the Star Master, the Star Empress, and some important personnel, which felt rather imposing. Above this area was an aerial hall known as the Star Palace, specifically designated for handling various planetary affairs and conducting meetings.
Sima Chuan and his companions followed Adela as they walked along, occasionally spotting people greeting her.
By the time they reached the Star Maiden Palace, it was nearing noon. Adela led Sima Chuan and the others to their guest rooms in the Star Maiden Palace. After assigning them their rooms, it was time for lunch, so they all gathered in the dining hall.
The dining hall was a hundred square meters in size, designed simply yet luxuriously; its decor evoked a strong appetite.
Adela directed Markett to sit at the main seat while she plopped down right next to Sima Chuan. Betis took a seat to Adela's right, and Luo Mengqi sat to Sima Chuan's left. Markett noticed their seating arrangement but remained silent, waiting for the food to arrive.
Luo Mengqi observed Adela sitting next to Sima Chuan with some discontent and pulled Sima Chuan closer to her. Adela said nothing and simply shifted back to sit beside Sima Chuan again.
Before long, the food arrived. Luo Mengqi immediately took Sima Chuan's bowl and served him rice. Adela didn’t hold back either; whenever Sima Chuan showed interest in a dish, she would serve it to him while enthusiastically recommending various dishes. Luo Mengqi didn’t back down either, continuously adding more food to Sima Chuan’s plate until Betis joined in as well.
Markett and Qiong, along with Yiling, quietly ate their meals on the side. However, when they saw Sima Chuan's expression that looked more tragic than crying, their faces turned bright red from stifling laughter.
Sima Chuan sent a pleading glance towards Qiong and the others for help but was completely ignored.
Finally, looking at his overflowing plate of food with a sense of grievance, Sima Chuan asked softly, “Can I not eat?”
The three women roared in unison at him: “No!”
Thus, Sima Chuan tragically finished his lunch.
In the afternoon, Adela and Betis took Sima Chuan and his companions on a tour around the Star Palace. They familiarized themselves with the routes, security measures, and locations of various important personnel’s residences.
As they approached a rather unique hall, Sima Chuan noticed the large characters inscribed above the entrance. Although it was written in the language of this planet, he recognized it; this hall was indeed Nai Hall.
The walls of Nai Hall were a deep green, completely different from the other halls. The overall style of Nai Hall seemed somewhat out of place compared to the architecture around it.
"Who built this Nai Hall?" Sima Chuan asked Adela.
"This was built by Nai himself," Adela replied, slightly taken aback.
"He built it himself?" Sima Chuan questioned, puzzled.
"Of course, Nai built it himself. At first, Nai Hall was already completed, but he didn't like that style and insisted on constructing it himself. That's how the current version of Nai Hall came to be—it's not very appealing at all, and many people secretly laugh at Nai for it," she said, clearly indicating that it was Betis who dared to comment on Nai in front of Nai Hall.
At that moment, a middle-aged man stepped out from Nai Hall. He had a somewhat dark complexion and wore a deep green garment that resembled both a robe and a cloak. His shoulder-length hair was tied back. Upon seeing Adela, he hurried over and bowed to her, saying, "Nai greets the Star Maiden. I wonder what brings the Star Maiden to my humble abode; please feel free to come inside and sit."
"So this is Nai?" Sima Chuan thought to himself as he carefully observed Nai, committing his appearance to memory.
Adela smiled lightly and declined, saying, "No thank you, Nai. My friends have never been here before, so I’m just showing them around; we won't trouble you any further."
Nai looked up at Sima Chuan and the others and said, "So these are the friends of the Star Maiden? They do seem unfamiliar. In that case, I won’t disturb you any longer." With that, he turned and left.
"Qiong, should we come back later tonight to take a look?" Sima Chuan whispered to Qiong once Nai had walked away.
"It's not a good idea to go in now. If Nai realizes we are outsiders, he will definitely be cautious. If he discovers anything unusual later on, he will immediately think of us," Qiong warned.
"Then let's observe the situation first and see if we can go in later for a closer look."
"Alright."
"Okay, let's go. We should check out some other places," Adela said as she started walking away.
Not long after, Nai turned back, watching the distant figures of Adela and her companions leave. With a cold snort, he walked into Nai Hall.
In fact, when Adela brought Sima Chuan and the others near Nai Hall, they had unknowingly entered Nai's surveillance range. Earlier that morning, Nai's subordinates from the Mechanical Legion informed him that Adela had entered Star Palace with several unfamiliar individuals, the reasons for which were unclear. Consequently, Nai began investigating Sima Chuan and his group. However, he found their identities to be legitimate, so he didn't pursue the matter further. Yet when he saw Adela leading Sima Chuan and the others to Nai Hall, he was taken aback. After pondering for a moment, he decided to go out again. Initially, he had heard that Adela and Sima Chuan were friends of his and that she was merely showing them around. But when he sensed Sima Chuan's scrutinizing gaze upon him, an unsettling feeling suddenly arose within him.
This was an innate intuition of Nai's that had never failed him; thus, he trusted it completely. After Adela and her group left, he returned once more.
Standing before Nai was a young man—slight in build yet exuding a strong and powerful aura.
After a moment of contemplation, Nai finally spoke up: "Sente, has Booth been destroyed by Sima Chuan? Is there no way to recover his body?"
"Yes," Sente replied without any unnecessary words.
"Then Sima Chuan is no longer on Earth?" Nai asked again.
"Correct."
"Do you think those people just now could be part of his group?"
"They don't match in appearance, but that can be altered; information can also be fabricated," Sente stated directly.
"Oh? So you believe they might indeed be part of Sima Chuan's crew?"
"It might be possible."
"Well, then you should take the Shadow Legion to test them tonight," Nai said directly.
"My lord, isn't that a bit rushed? What if it turns out not to be the case?" Sente replied anxiously.
"What do you suggest we do?" Nai countered.
"My lord, we can look for flaws in them."
"Look."
"Sima Chuan and the others have been living on Earth for a long time; they still don't understand many things about our planet. We can approach it from that angle."
"No." Nai dismissed the idea outright. "What if Sima Chuan is already prepared?"
"That..." Sente was at a loss for words.
"Just now, that person looking at me gave me an unsettling feeling. Regardless of whether he is Sima Chuan or not, he poses a danger to me. You need to take the Shadow Legion with you tonight and make sure to eliminate him," Nai said firmly.
"Alright... fine." Sente still had doubts, but seeing the look in Nai's eyes, he could only agree helplessly.
