When they returned to the Star Maiden Palace in the afternoon, Star Master Aitak was already back. Adela was very happy to see her father and excitedly ran over to give Aitak a hug. "Father, why are you back so early today?"
"Hehe." Aitak lovingly patted Adela's head. "There were fewer matters to attend to today, so I came back to spend time with you."
"Oh dear." Adela swatted Aitak's hand away, pouting, "Don't mess with my hair; it feels uncomfortable, and you've made it all messy."
"Alright, I won't touch it anymore." Aitak smiled. "Why don't you call your mother and the others over? We can all gather together."
"Okay." Adela pulled Aitak over to where Sima Chuan and the others were and introduced them. "Father, these are my friends who came to play with me."
"Hello, I'm Chuan, and this is my grandfather Butch," Sima Chuan said first.
"Hello! I'm Butch," Markett stepped forward, warmly engaging with Aitak.
Once everyone got acquainted, Aitak instructed the mechanical butler to prepare dinner while waiting for Adela's mother Kathy, her sister Aigasha, and her brother Aida to arrive.
After everyone gathered together, they introduced themselves and chatted. Before long, they all became familiar with each other, and the conversation flowed more freely during dinner. After finishing their meal, they took a leisurely walk together, enjoying each other's company. Aitak and Kathy noticed that Adela and Betis seemed particularly close to Sima Chuan. Kathy's gaze toward Sima Chuan changed as a result, but Aitak felt a bit uneasy. He had been searching for Markett and Noel for years without any leads, which made him somewhat unfriendly toward Sima Chuan.
Sima Chuan sensed the different attitudes from Aitak and Kathy and found it a bit puzzling. However, he soon shrugged it off; the truth would eventually come to light.
As they returned to the Star Maiden Palace, Sima Chuan received a message from the Noel Battleship: "There is a Mechanical Legion inside the Star Maiden Palace."
"A Mechanical Legion? When did they get in?" Sima Chuan wondered in his mind.
"Not long after you all left," came the reply.
"Were the guards not alerted?"
"No, the Mechanical Legion that has entered is more agile and powerful than ever before."
"If I go with Joan to deal with them, what are our chances?"
After calculating, the Noel Battleship replied, "Fifty-fifty."
"How is that possible?" Sima Chuan exclaimed in surprise.
"Chuan, what's wrong? Is something happening?" Kathy's concerned voice came through.
It was only then that Sima Chuan realized he had been standing at the 'door' without entering. Joan seemed unfazed as he was also receiving information, while the others looked at Sima Chuan with curiosity.
"It's nothing." Sima Chuan smiled and walked inside. Just before entering the room, he called out, "It's late; I'm going to sleep now."
"Don't overexert yourself," Kathy said with a smile and her usual concern. Aitak snorted coldly in response.
Adela and Betis urged Sima Chuan to sleep early while they continued to play. Luo Mengqi huffed angrily and went straight back to her room.
Once back in his room, Sima Chuan continued to receive information from the Noel Battleship.
"Because you cannot compare in numbers, and additionally, the combat power of those Mechanical Legion units is slightly weaker than yours. Combined, their combat power equals that of you and Joan together."
After disconnecting, Sima Chuan turned to face Joan. "The situation is a bit dire; Nai must have suspected us."
Joan nodded and said, "Is it just the two of us tonight? Should we call Luo Mengqi and the others?"
"No need, let's go the two of us first and test if it's the Shadow Legion."
"Alright, let's prepare then."
In the deep of night, everyone had already fallen asleep.
Sima Chuan and Qiong slipped out of their room and transformed together. At that moment, the Shadow Legion had quietly approached the 'door.' Just as they took their first step, two white shadows flashed past them. They immediately became alert and hid.
Sima Chuan and Qiong concealed themselves behind a large rock and activated the detection System. However, Sima Chuan only detected three red dots, one of which was not far from his right. Sima Chuan slammed his palm against the stone, lifted off the ground, and launched himself horizontally through the air, aiming his feet at the nearby Shadow Mech Soldier. But at that moment, a Shadow Mech Soldier flew out directly towards him, its legs aimed at Sima Chuan while its body transformed into a sword, pointing straight at him. Sima Chuan couldn't dodge in time and was sent flying backward, feeling a sharp sting in his waist.
After landing, a loud bang echoed beside him as a figure appeared—Qiong.
"What happened?" Sima Chuan asked.
"Agile and stronger in combat than us, plus they possess strong cognitive abilities," Qiong replied, her body already showing signs of damage.
The Shadow Legion slowly closed in on Sima Chuan and Qiong, completely surrounding them.
At that moment, Sima Chuan and Qiong could clearly see that the ten figures before them were not part of the Mechanical Legion. The Mechanical Legion was uniformly silver-white, while these so-called Mechanical Legion members were all dark-colored. Sima Chuan and Qiong had confirmed without a doubt that they were facing the Shadow Legion.
"According to comparative data, you must be Sima Chuan? Lady Nayi guessed correctly," said one who appeared to be the leader of the Shadow Mech Soldiers.
"Are you the Shadow Legion?" Sima Chuan still wanted to confirm.
After Sima Chuan's question, the leader nodded directly.
“Is Lai Liqing part of the Shadow Legion?” Sima Chuan asked again, pondering how to break through and defeat the Shadow Mech Soldiers.
“No, he doesn’t even qualify for that.” The leader replied, delivering a powerful punch. Sima Chuan instinctively raised both hands to block.
He felt an overwhelming force strike his hands, a power he simply could not withstand. Once again, he was sent flying backward.
The Shadow Leader shook his hand dismissively and said contemptuously, “Because he is too weak, and so are you.” With that, he surged forward, appearing right in front of Sima Chuan, gathering force in his leg and kicking at him. Sima Chuan managed to dodge, but at that moment, the Shadow Leader reappeared at his side with another kick.
Grinding his teeth, Sima Chuan aimed a kick at the Shadow Leader's head. The Shadow Leader did not evade; instead, he blocked with his hand. With a loud clang, Sima Chuan’s attack proved ineffective, and he crashed into a defensive wall several dozen meters away, distorting it upon impact.
A deafening sound echoed through the area, waking the guards and those who had been asleep.
Meanwhile, Qiong, who had been struggling against Shadow Number Two in the air, glanced toward Sima Chuan upon hearing the noise. Realizing what had happened, Two delivered a fierce blow that sent Qiong plummeting to the ground.
A large group of Mechanical Guards rushed in. Seeing the chaos and recognizing the presence of both the Shadow Legion and Sima Chuan, they quickly surrounded them tightly.
At that moment, Aitak and his companions emerged as well. Upon seeing the mass of Mechanical Guards, Aitak shouted loudly, “What’s going on?”
A Mechanical Guard Captain stepped forward from among the guards and respectfully addressed Aitak, “We heard the commotion and rushed in. We found the garden of the Star Maiden Palace in disarray and noticed two different groups of Mechanical Soldiers. It seems they were fighting for some unknown reason, and we do not know their identities.”
“Hmm?” Aitak furrowed his brow as he looked toward the Shadow Legion.
