When Mrs. Oni woke up that morning, she discovered that Sima Chuan had already left, but they also found that Annie had gone with him. Auntie looked at Mrs. Oni and smiled, saying, "I didn't expect Annie to follow Sima Chuan. Hehe, that girl." 0

Mrs. Oni expressed her worries, "I just wonder how Annie will fare from now on. I hope she's doing well." 0

Auntie patted Mrs. Oni's hand reassuringly. "Don't worry, Sima Chuan is a good person; he won't mistreat Annie." 0

Mrs. Oni nodded in agreement. "Sima Chuan is indeed a good guy. I was overthinking it. Let's wish them well!" 0

"Yes, let's wish them well," Auntie echoed. 0

During breakfast, the children didn't touch their chopsticks; the food on the table remained untouched. 0

Auntie understood the children's feelings but still said, "Why aren't you eating breakfast? This isn't good! If you don't eat breakfast, you won't grow up quickly." 0

Anna cried out with tears in her eyes, "Is it because I'm not obedient that Sister Annie doesn't want me anymore? Boohoo, Sister Annie, I'm sorry! Will you come back?" 0

"Brother Annie, will you come back?" the other girls began to cry as well. 0

"Brother Sima Chuan, please come back! It's so boring without you here," one boy murmured to himself. 0

"Brother Sima Chuan, I really want to hear you call us to practice those amazing techniques again." 0

"Yeah, Brother Sima Chuan, I miss eating the meals you cooked." A group of boys reminisced. 0

Meanwhile, Sima Chuan was busy making breakfast. It hadn't taken long for them to arrive in Sagara Town. Over the past few days, Sima Chuan and his friends had been wandering around the town; now, Sagara Town felt like home to them—there was no place they didn't know or weren't familiar with. During this time, they hadn't seen anyone waiting for Sardana's arrival in the town; it was just the few of them. 0

As Qiong flipped through the pages of Star History, she realized they had arrived in Sagala a month early. Upon learning this, Barnett decided to treat this time as a vacation. Whenever he had nothing to do, he would buy a house in Sagara Town and live like a local. This also helped dispel some of the suspicions the local forces had about them. 0

Time passed quietly, and soon it would be the moment Sardana faced an ambush. However, Sima Chuan and the others had gone out to scout but found no signs of any potential threats. 0

In fact, half a month ago, Sima Chuan and his companions had already felt something was off. They initially thought those people would arrive later, but now they realized they had lost a sense of urgency, taking things for granted. Unbeknownst to them, they had overlooked Nai as a variable. Now, they all felt a deep sense of guilt. 0

Breakfast was consumed in a quiet and eerie atmosphere. At one point, Annie seemed to have something on her mind, but upon sensing the unusual demeanor of Sima Chuan and the others, she fell silent and continued eating her breakfast quietly. 0

Once breakfast was finished, Barnett stood up with a serious expression and said, "Annie, please clean up the dishes. Alger, Sima Chuan, Qiong, come to my room now." With that, Barnett turned and left. 0

Sima Chuan sighed along with the others as they followed Barnett. Once everyone was inside, Qiong closed the door behind them and took out a device that completely isolated Barnett's room from the outside. 0

Barnett looked at Sima Chuan and the others who had their heads down and sighed. "There's no need to feel guilty. This is your first mission, Sima Chuan and Qiong; it's not your fault. Alger, you don't need to feel this way either; I made mistakes too. Let's focus on how we can rectify this situation." 0

"I believe Nai is going to make a move against Sardana now," Qiong spoke first. "Nai won't allow someone who poses a threat to his future to remain alive, even if that person is still weak." 0

"Exactly," Barnett nodded. "The local forces trained by Nai's Shadow Legion are dangerous. If that insider next to Sardana reveals Sardana's location to Nai, it would be a significant blow for Sardana." 0

"Our main priority now is to find Sardana as quickly as possible. Hopefully, he is safe," Alger said with a sigh. 0

Sima Chuan sat silently on one side, stroking his chin with a thoughtful expression. 0

"Sima Chuan," Barnett called out. 0

"Ah, Captain," Sima Chuan quickly stood up. 0

Barnett smiled and gestured for Sima Chuan to sit down, asking, "What are you thinking about?" 0

Sima Chuan took a seat and replied, "I'm thinking about someone." 0

"Someone?" Barnett and the others looked at Sima Chuan with curiosity. 0

"Sima Chuan, you’re not thinking about some girl again, are you?" Alger teased deliberately. 0

"Of course not," Sima Chuan shook his head. "This person opened a gold shop in the slums." 0

"A gold shop owner?" Barnett pondered. 0

"Chuan, what are your thoughts?" Joan asked, while Barnett and Alger listened intently. 0

"This boss is named Moni. Annie and I have been to his shop before, but I sensed a subtle aura about him. The slums are quite chaotic, yet nothing ever happens in his shop. Besides, he’s getting on in years." 0

"Sima Chuan, are you suggesting that this person might be connected to the Alliance?" Alger was quick to catch on to Sima Chuan's implication. 0

"It’s possible, but this is all just my speculation—merely a feeling." 0

"Then let’s find Annie and see what she knows about your Moni. Hopefully, he can help us," Barnett said as he opened the door and stepped outside. 0

At that moment, Annie was watching television. When she saw Sima Chuan and the others come out, she smiled and greeted them. Sima Chuan sat down next to Annie and asked, "Annie, do you know someone named Moni?" 0

"Moni?" Annie looked at Sima Chuan with curiosity. 0

"Yes, that's the one who opened a gold shop in the slums." 0

"Old Man Moni?" 0

"Yes, how much do you know about him? Or can you tell us everything you know?" 0

Annie realized from Sima Chuan's words that he was likely going to find Moni. Having spent enough time with Sima Chuan and the others, she understood what they were up to, so she said, "Old Man Moni moved to the slums a few years ago, but no one knows why. When he opened his gold shop, the local thugs all wanted to take advantage of it. Some of the bolder ones even tried to rob him, but I heard they all came back empty-handed. Not only that, but those who attempted to rob Moni ended up getting thrown out of his shop, often injured. I don't know much else, but I've seen some strange people visiting Moni, and he seems quite welcoming to them." 0

"We understand." Barnett stood up. "Alger, you and I will go find Moni. Sima Chuan, you and Joan stay here. Annie, keep your guard up and make sure nothing unexpected happens." 0

"No," Sima Chuan refused. "Captain, I think it's better if Annie and I go together." 0

"Captain, I think Sima Chuan has a point," Joan expressed her opinion. 0

"Captain, I believe it would be best for Sima Chuan and Annie to go since Moni is more familiar with them," Alger added. 0

"Alright then." Seeing that all three agreed, Barnett had no choice but to comply. "Sima Chuan, you and Annie go find Moni. Remember to be cautious and keep in touch." 0

"Yes, Captain." 0
