"Wow, hahaha... this is amazing!" Betis exclaimed, dancing with excitement in front of the row of Mechanical Armors.
"Alright, you little girl," Selina said, giving Betis a gentle pat on the back of her head.
Adela and Luo Mengqi exchanged glances, both sharing a knowing smile at Betis's enthusiasm.
"Auntie, which one is the best? Hurry up and tell me so Adela and I can choose," Betis urged, pulling Selina along as they looked at the armors.
"Okay, come over here," Selina led the four girls to the back of the Mechanical Armors. There were four more suits of armor there, all designed for women. They felt entirely different from the ones in front; just looking at them conveyed a sense of immense power.
"What do you think?" Selina asked with a smile.
"It's really amazing!" Betis replied excitedly.
"I'm glad you like it. Go ahead and try them on."
Upon hearing Selina's words, Betis grabbed Adela's hand and rushed to the four suits of Mechanical Armor. Pointing at one of them, she declared, "I want this one!" As soon as she finished speaking, the chosen armor was automatically taken down. A soft mechanical female voice then echoed, "Dear Betis, please name your armor and select your preferred primary and secondary colors."
"I'll name it Betty. The primary color will be purple, and for the secondary color..." Betis thought for a moment before saying, "Let's go with deep blue."
"Understood. Please wait a moment, dear Betis." As the mechanical butler's gentle voice faded, the Mechanical Arms began to spring into action.
"I'll take this one next to it," Adela chimed in. "I'll name it Nila. The primary color is also purple, and the secondary color will be black."
"Wow, I didn't see that coming, Adela! You chose those colors?" Betis exclaimed as if she had discovered something new.
"Hehe!" Adela chuckled softly.
"Alright, let's give them a try," Selina's voice called out from nearby. The four girls knew that the coloring of their Mechanical Armors was ready.
"I'll give it a try then." Betis said, and the Mechanical Armor she chose began to disassemble. Standing in the center, the pieces of the Mechanical Armor adhered to her body as if she were putting on clothes. Betis felt no discomfort; on the contrary, she experienced a sense of comfort. "It's perfect! It's as if it was made just for me." After trying it out for a while, Betis became excited. Hearing her words, Selina thought to herself: Of course it was tailored for you; otherwise, how could it fit so well?
"I'm the same!" Adela, wearing Nila armor, came up beside Betis.
"Adela, how about we have a match?" Betis said, moving around in her newly donned armor.
"Hey, Betis, don't you dare fight here! Otherwise, you'll regret it later," Adela warned before Selina shouted out.
Betis flew in front of Selina, circling her twice before landing steadily in front of her with a playful smile. "Don't worry, my dear aunt; how could I possibly destroy your place?"
"You little rascal," Selina laughed and scolded.
"Alright, Auntie, we're off now." Despite her mischievousness, Betis understood the importance of the matter.
Selina showed no intention of making them stay and said, "Got it. You all hurry along; I still have research to do."
"Then we're leaving! Next time we'll come back and play with you properly!" Betis called out to Selina as they departed. Selina didn't respond but watched as Betis and the others left. Once they were gone, she quickly opened the encrypted communicator. After establishing a connection, she spoke directly: "Markett the Sage, is this really okay?"
On the other end, Markett smiled and replied, "Don't worry, Selina. I'm just letting them gain some experience; nothing will happen to them."
The four suits of armor were prototypes of the previous Mechanical Warriors that Markett had modified when he learned that Betis and her friends wanted to find Sima Chuan and Qiong. He sent them directly to Selina for her to pass on to Betis.
"Does Star Master know?" Selina asked.
"I'll be speaking with him shortly."
"Star Master doesn't know?" Selina looked at Markett on the Virtual Screen in shock.
"Not yet; I took the initiative on this matter."
“Markett the Sage, do you even know what you're doing?” Selina shouted at Markett, regretting her decision to help him.
“Don't worry, I know what I'm doing. But Sima Chuan and their mission are confidential. To put them at ease, I had to do this, and it can also serve as a little outing for them. Besides, I've been monitoring their movements closely. If any danger arises, I'll have the Noel Battleship return immediately.”
“But…” Selina hesitated, unable to voice her concerns.
“I’m currently in contact with the Star Master and have dispatched the Mechanical Warrior to protect them in secret.” Markett abruptly ended the connection, leaving Selina standing there in silence.
At that moment, Aitak was inside the Council Hall when an urgent communication device suddenly beeped. All eyes in the Council Hall turned toward Aitak. Cautiously, Aitak took out the device and took a deep breath upon seeing it was Markett. He quickly established the connection. Before Aitak could ask anything, Markett spoke directly. “Star Master, not long ago, the Noel Battleship suddenly took off. I checked the reason; it turns out that Star Master Adela, Betis, Luo Mengqi, and Yiling are aboard the Noel Battleship heading into space to search for Sima Chuan.”
“What?” Aitak exclaimed in shock.
“Star Master, don’t worry. I’ve already sent my Mechanical Legion after them.”
“That's good. I’ll have Loki intercept them immediately.” Aitak called for Loki. At that moment, Loki was on duty when he suddenly received a communication from Star Master Aitak. Without waiting for any questions, Aitak urgently said, “Loki, you will soon receive information from Markett about a battleship called the Noel Battleship. Make sure to intercept it. Onboard are Star Maiden Adela, Starlight City’s Lady Betis, as well as Markett the Sage’s wife Luo Mengqi and Yiling. Do you understand?”
Loki paused for a moment before saluting Aitak and responding loudly, “Understood.”
Soon after, Loki received the basic information about the Noel Battleship along with its current location. After reviewing the data, he dispatched his strongest battleship for immediate action. However, not long after that, Aitak received a message from Loki: “Star Master, the speed and defenses of the Noel Battleship are too strong; we cannot intercept it.”
“I understand.” Aitak called Markett again.
“Star Master, what’s the situation?”
“Markett the Sage, is there any way to intercept the Noel Battleship?”
“Right now, Luo Mengqi and Yiling are controlling the battleship; I can no longer take control,” Markett replied.
“Alright.” Aitak sighed. “Then is there any way to bring them back?”
“Star Master…” Markett looked troubled.
“Just say what you need to say.”
“It’s impossible to bring them back now, so we should send someone to secretly protect the Star Maidens. When they realize they can’t find Sima Chuan, they will naturally return.”
Upon hearing Markett’s words, Aitak couldn’t help but smile slightly, though it quickly faded. “Alright then, let’s just say they went out for a little adventure. You decide on the personnel.”
Seeing Markett nod, Aitak said, “Then it’s settled,” before cutting off the connection.
“Xin Rui, I wonder if you would be willing to secretly protect the Star Maidens in the universe.” Markett turned to look at Xin Rui.
After Markett clarified the situation with Aitak, Xin Rui had been released and had remained in a resting state, occasionally assisting Markett. Now, however, Xin Rui had lost some of her former sharpness; although her appearance hadn’t changed much, there were already some strands of white in her hair.
“Well…” Xin Rui hesitated, as she just wanted to enjoy life peacefully.
“I know what you’re worried about, but you’ve seen the fate of Nai. According to my investigation, there are still remnants of Nai’s forces in the universe, which were placed there long ago. I don’t know what their plans are, so I want you to protect the Star Maidens while also searching for these remnants of Nai,” Markett urged.
Xin Rui was torn; she didn’t know what to do. On one hand, she wanted to eliminate all remnants of Nai, but on the other hand, she wished to enjoy this peaceful life.
