On an international flight from San Francisco to the city, a man wrapped entirely in a trench coat, wearing a gray fedora and sunglasses, caused some unease for the nearby Flight Attendant. 0

“Sir, is there something wrong with your health? Sir?” the Flight Attendant gently asked the man, whose body was trembling intermittently. 0

“I’m fine, just a bit airsick,” the man concealed in the trench coat replied in a slightly trembling, hoarse voice. 0

“This is some motion sickness medication. Would you like some warm water?” The Flight Attendant offered two pills with a still warm expression. 0

“No, thank you for your concern. I’ll make sure to repay you well,” the Gray-Clad Man responded in that same voice. 0

After the Flight Attendant left, he looked at the pills in his hand and extended his unusually long tongue to roll both the pills and their packaging into his mouth, crunching them down. Bloodshot eyes glimmered beneath his sunglasses. 0

“Ah, ever since that incident in Hawaii, going out has become much more troublesome. Even taking a short train ride requires a temperature check; it’s just a slight fever,” one of the women from the Cat Star Team said as she stepped out of Hongqiao Train Station, sticking out her tongue in an embarrassed manner. 0

The inspection upon entering was manageable, but upon exiting, it seemed that due to the status of this international city, an infrared thermometer detected her temperature as slightly abnormal. 0

Although it was only a mild fever, it delayed her quite a bit. 0

“Honestly, this temperature check doesn’t mean much. The symptoms of H Virus Infection are too obvious when it flares up. The detection methods before an outbreak are quite limited; it’s mainly to reassure the general public,” Yang Xiaoyou remarked, her gaze drifting slightly. 0

In her memory, the fear caused by the H Virus far exceeded its actual destructive power. In reality, it was a virus that could be easily isolated if one was determined enough. 0

From what she recalled about previous outbreaks, most were linked to human actions; the other half stemmed from hidden sources within crowds. Purely viral spread was almost nonexistent. 0

“Haha, you all don’t know yet? He’s a Survivor of Incident 617! He personally experienced that environment,” Huang Wei said at that moment to draw attention to Yang Xiaoyou without hesitation. 0

"You're kidding, right?" 0

"No way." 0

"But I heard that both Yuying Middle School and the Royal Academy of Basic Studies had people involved in that incident." 0

"Yeah, I used to think it was just a rumor, but it turns out to be true." 0

The members of the Cat Star Team began chattering as Yang Xiaoyou started to ask questions. 0

Yang Xiaoyou had encountered this kind of situation many times before. Neighbors and classmates, whether familiar or not, always liked to ask about such matters. 0

After answering some of their questions to satisfy their curiosity, Yang Xiaoyou noticed that it was almost midnight. Chen Kai, who seemed a bit displeased with their group, spoke up. "It's getting late. You all need to get in line, right? We should head to the hotel as well. For Feng Lin's sake, let's take her with us. It's not right for a girl to stay out all night waiting in line." 0

"Uh, it's fine. She can use my tent; I'll just wait outside," Yang Xiaoyou replied. He felt uneasy leaving the socially awkward Feng Lin alone outside. 0

Of course, he didn't have to worry about Feng Lin's safety; his concern was for others' safety. 0

"Selfish fellow. Someone like you will only hold her back; it's impossible otherwise. Hmph, you'll understand once you get to university," Chen Kai scoffed at Yang Xiaoyou's response. 0

Feeling inexplicably judged by others, Yang Xiaoyou found it quite frustrating. To be honest, he believed that most students from Yuying Middle School and the Royal Academy of Basic Studies were far stronger than ordinary college students. Even those like Huang Wei and his group, who were considered tragedies, actually had decent abilities. 0

Those elites who experienced the 617 incident had skills that surpassed many adults. In such an environment, they could cooperate and support each other to overcome difficulties, which clarified many issues. 0

Especially individuals like Zhao Chen and Liang Wuxuan, along with Liu Lianyue, who was a best actor; they would never be treated as ordinary students. 0

"Actually, you should have known when we started working and entered society," Yang Xiaoyou said lightly, rolling her eyes at the other person. 0

"You!" 0

"Alright, alright, let's leave it at that. After all, it was Feng Lin's decision. Just remember to come support us at our venue," the lively girl with a few freckles said, trying to ease the tension. 0

Chen Kai, due to her family background, usually carried herself with a bit of arrogance. However, today she seemed to have crossed a line. Both sides were still not very familiar with each other, yet she began to point fingers and insisted she was right, being overly self-centered and forgetting that it was Feng Lin who had initially used that cute big guy's tent without considering anyone else's feelings. 0

After someone smoothed things over, Chen Kai, although visibly displeased, huffed and left with her team. 0

"Tch, what's with that fellow trying to act cool? Just because they're a college student doesn't make them special," Huang Wei began to vent after the others had walked away. Yang Xiaoyou found this kind of unpleasant personality hard to deal with. 0

"Alright, what did you all choose as your target? I'm heading back to our base now; we can exchange notes later," Yang Xiaoyou asked curiously. 0

Fortunately, after Chen Kai's sudden attack, they had reflected on some matters and subtly indicated their whereabouts using exclusive terms to avoid embarrassing themselves in front of Feng Lin. 0

In this limited edition sale, each person in line could only buy one item. However, compared to the regular version, there were always some peculiar differences. 0

In the Chinese Empire, strict regulations were in place against forcing individuals into prostitution and luring minors into sexual exchanges. Other aspects had accepted quite a bit of Western thought; after reaching puberty, it was generally accepted for one to hide a couple of private books in their room. 0

"I'm really sorry; I initially thought you wouldn't come, so the arrangements might be a bit boring for you," Yang Xiaoyou said apologetically as she set up a mini tent at the pre-sale point after everyone had dispersed. 0

To be honest, directly purchasing some limited editions at high prices was possible, but for enthusiasts like Yang Xiaoyou and her friends, waiting in line to buy was far more interesting. In the past, Yang Xiaoyou had successfully snagged several limited edition games; although it was tiring, she enjoyed every moment of it. 0

However, for someone like Feng Lin who wasn't an enthusiast, it might seem rather dull. 0

"It's okay." Feng Lin seemed to not know what it meant to be angry. Most of the time, she could easily forgive others. It was her nature; after mastering the powerful swordsmanship inherited from their ancestors, she still managed to cultivate all her killing intent through methods of self-cultivation, thus not affecting herself. 0

In this regard, due to her innate temperament, she was likely superior to Yang Xiaoyou, who had just begun her journey, and perhaps even better than her grandfather. 0

Realizing this, Yang Xiaoyou also sat down outside. Like Feng Lin, she immersed herself once again in that state of calmness. 0

Hobbies were one thing, but priorities had to be clear. 0

As she sank into her heart, seeing the red killing intent in the pitch-black environment with her eyes closed, Yang Xiaoyou began to slowly adjust and sort herself out using the self-cultivation techniques that Feng Lin had shared with her. 0

After being deeply engrossed for quite some time, she felt someone tugging at her sleeve. When she opened her eyes, she found that the light had begun to brighten. A long line had formed behind her, and the countdown for the sales point ahead indicated it would soon open. 0

The one who tugged at Yang Xiaoyou's sleeve was none other than Feng Lin, who usually paid little attention to the outside world. Looking at Feng Lin's exquisite and beautiful face first thing in the morning was indeed a comforting sight, as if it heralded a wonderful day ahead. 0

However, it was clear that Feng Lin did not wake Yang Xiaoyou up just to uplift her spirits. After seeing Yang Xiaoyou awake, Feng Lin pointed upwards with her finger. 0

At that moment, a plane flew low over everyone's heads. Although planes do need to lower their altitude when landing, given how close they were to the airport, it seemed to be flying a bit too low. 0

Many people in the line looked up at the plane as it passed overhead and began discussing among themselves once it was gone. 0

"Isn't that a bit too low?" 0

"It seems so. I've never seen anything like this before, but it should be fine." 0

"Maybe the plane encountered some special situation? But since it's so close to the airport now, it should be okay." 0

As she watched the airplane fly overhead, its silhouette obscured by the buildings behind, Yang Xiaoyou couldn't help but furrow her brow. After a moment of hesitation, she turned to Feng Lin and asked, "Do you feel like something's off?" 0

Upon hearing Yang Xiaoyou's question, Feng Lin nodded initially, but then tilted her head in thought before shaking it. 0

Having emerged from the tent, Feng Lin's appearance drew the attention of the team that had just shifted their focus from the airplane. Without exception, all eyes were now on her. 0

"Am I seeing things?" 0

"I can't believe there's actually a girl like this in real life. H, my goodness!" 0

"This is too professional, too perfect! There's not a single flaw. She must have never appeared at any Anime Festival before; otherwise, she would definitely be famous. Quick, take a couple of pictures!" 0

Seeing the flashing lights behind them, Yang Xiaoyou instinctively stepped in front of Feng Lin to shield her from most of the attention. At that moment, she also realized that the group of Cat People was surprisingly restrained. 0

However, the passenger plane that had just flown overhead lingered in Yang Xiaoyou's mind, as if it heralded some impending misfortune. 0
