"He is shooting at the Sniper. Weimar, Hailey, you two go out and deal with any potential Ambushers. Don't let anyone distract him." Although Fia did not fully understand the specifics of the Sniper's situation, she was aware of their current predicament.
If that mysterious fellow could indeed help take down the Sniper, the most challenging part would be to handle what came next.
The One-Eyed Woman and a burly White Man nodded and swiftly made evasive maneuvers as they rushed out the door, their experienced actions indicating that both had extensive experience dealing with Snipers.
"John, can you determine if he successfully shot?" With a few guards remaining, Fia calmly asked John, their strongest Sniper.
"There's an over eighty percent chance. After he fired, that direction didn't retaliate again. If I had known the enemy's position beforehand, I could have managed that step. Although I have identified several suitable Sniper spots, I don't have his level of confidence or certainty to pinpoint the enemy's location directly." At that moment, John's eyes reflected an uncontrollable shock.
Among them, John held Yang Xiaoyou in the highest regard. Initially, he considered her to be strong overall but thought his own Sniping skills were on par. However, now she had given him a thorough lesson in his area of expertise.
An excellent Sniper requires more than just accuracy; assessing the surrounding environment, analyzing it, and locating the enemy's Sniper position are crucial skills.
He had been quite proud of his abilities in this aspect. Before entering the restaurant, he instinctively observed and confirmed some suitable Sniper spots. Yet ultimately, it was only a rough estimate; achieving her level of confidence in judgment was still a challenge for him.
In such moments, a single miscalculation could lead to disaster.
The gap might seem insignificant; he felt he could perform better than her if he pushed himself. But John understood that such subtle differences could not be bridged in a short time. A hundred steps taken by a walker are worth more than ninety taken by another; the general estimation and absolute determination might appear similar in content but differ vastly in significance.
Realizing this, John couldn't help but smile bitterly. It was no surprise that such a terrifying presence could easily surpass him in any aspect they excelled in.
"The man in black at the subway exit and the one approaching from the front of the department store," Yang Xiaoyou pointed out some problematic individuals for Weimar and Hailey to deal with without even glancing at them after they exited.
After successfully taking down the second Sniper based on the recent gunfire, it seemed there was only one left—slightly better than his worst-case scenario.
However, due to his swift elimination of two of their companions, the last Sniper retreated sharply behind cover after firing a shot. Though they were positioned high up and could not shoot again from that angle, Yang Xiaoyou found herself unable to do anything about them either.
Unlike the first Sniper, whose weapon was destroyed along with him, the second shot only ensured the kill of the opposing Sniper, leaving his weapon intact. If the enemy's Observer also possessed a certain level of Sniper skill, it meant he would still have to face two opponents.
His position was completely exposed, and with the enemy focusing all their attention on him, his disadvantages became apparent.
Without suitable cover and facing two Snipers from different directions, even his brain's real-time simulation ability could falter.
Now, suppressing the remaining two directions out of sight was already the best he could do; the advantage of the terrain was simply too great.
From John's perspective, however, in such a disadvantageous environment, managing to achieve two kills and suppress two others while facing multiple Snipers was nothing short of dominating the entire battle rhythm—it was beyond the limits.
"Now's our chance. Cover her as she runs into that alley," Yang Xiaoyou commanded, fully focused on both directions after Weimar and Hailey had efficiently dealt with their opponents.
Before Yang Xiaoyou spoke, John, with ample experience in Sniper confrontations, had already opened the door for those behind him to cover Fia as she emerged. Without hesitation, they all darted into the alley beside the restaurant.
In a typical escape scenario, weaving through crowds would be ideal.
Unfortunately, given the uncertainty about how many enemies were involved, they couldn't risk entering a crowd—anyone among them could be like that armed man disguised as a waiter.
Heading toward a more secluded area made it easier to distinguish other figures. Additionally, the narrow alley would effectively minimize exposure to Sniper fire.
Perhaps due to Yang Xiaoyou's initial overwhelming presence or because the surviving Observer's Sniper skills were mediocre, after they all squeezed into that box, no further threats emerged from the two positions Yang Xiaoyou had been watching closely.
However, well aware of what 'Revenant' was capable of, Yang Xiaoyou understood that their actions were far from over.
The primary advantage of 'Revenant' over other assassin groups was their ability to create opportunities and their remarkable patience. The dining location Fia chose was temporary even for her; yet just by lingering there for a bit longer, the enemy had set up such an elaborate ambush—one couldn't deny their reaction speed was impressive.
London, being one of the world's core cities, appeared glamorous on the surface. Yet behind that sheen lay dirty and dark alleys between luxurious buildings lining spacious streets. Various vagrants and drug users populated these areas, where most violent incidents occurred.
In one such alley at this moment, a group of six or seven people moved quickly in one direction. The stench of garbage filled the air, and murky water occasionally splashed beneath their feet.
Yang Xiaoyou quickly caught up with the group ahead, tossing the gun back to John. She grabbed another pistol and said, "I estimate that you’ll be visiting the station twice in a row today. After dealing with the situation, you should seek refuge with the British officials; this is your traditional sphere of influence."
"To be caught in such a predicament right at my doorstep by those 'Revenant' people—I will remember this," Fia said, her expression tight with anger.
Just hearing those words revealed her deep-seated pride. For others, even those in power, being assassinated by a group like 'Revenant' would typically lead them to seek out the instigator for revenge. They often regarded the assassin group merely as tools.
However, this also reflected their inner fear and trepidation towards the assassin group itself. Fia's approach of directly targeting the assassin group, regardless of her employer, was quite bold.
Yet, the determination in her expression seemed to weaken that initial fierceness.
"I'll drop you off at the police station and then leave. I don’t want to be investigated by them. If you’re still inside after I’m done, just call me; otherwise, my mission ends here." As she moved swiftly through the alley, Yang Xiaoyou kept a careful watch on her surroundings.
"Tch, making money off me is easy enough," Fia replied somewhat sulkily but didn’t press for more demands.
Although she had just begun her protective work, the performance of her counterpart during this operation was worth every penny. If it weren't for the sniper being dealt with, she would still be stuck defensively in that restaurant, uncertain if she could leave safely.
At that moment, a small spherical object was tossed lightly from a fork in the path ahead. It exploded mid-air into a blinding white light, illuminating the entire alley as if it were daytime—a flashbang.
