"Indeed, I didn't expect you all to know each other. This must be fate. You participated in some trip together back then, right?" As he walked out of the Monsoon Shrine with Feng Lin, Nobunaga Hideyoshi couldn't help but feel a bit sentimental.
He still had a vivid memory of those students from that school trip. In the end, he had relied on the results of their military training to scare off the people blocking the road outside.
From what he recalled, aside from that strangely quick-reacting girl, these two were the most memorable: The Master of Water in the Apocalypse.
However, at that moment, Feng Lin, who was following Qi Menglu, shot a displeased glance at Nobunaga Hideyoshi, as if she were looking at some unnecessary object.
"His companion saved this lucky fellow back then," Qi Menglu leaned closer to Feng Lin and whispered, seemingly noticing her disinterest in Nobunaga Hideyoshi.

However, thinking back to the investigation that Aser had assigned to the Mercenary team, Nobunaga Hideyoshi found himself increasingly unable to see through this life-saving benefactor and unscrupulous employer. Yet, regarding this matter, Nobunaga Hideyoshi showed no intention of delving deeper; he believed it was enough to fulfill his own responsibilities. Whatever needed to be told would eventually come to him.
"The one who was kidnapped is from our school. The reason we aren't attending classes now is because of that incident," Yang Xiaoyou interjected with a hint of frustration.
The Hijacking Incident had truly put their school in the spotlight, affecting students like them in an unexpected turn of events. Of course, the organization's decision to target the Chinese Empire ultimately stemmed from his own actions.
As a few of them wandered around Pedestrian Street, Yang Xiaoyou was introducing Nobunaga Hideyoshi when Feng Lin, who was being dragged along by Qi Menglu to shop, suddenly glanced up at the top of the mall beside them, which had a giant screen.
At the same time, Yang Xiaoyou felt a fleeting sensation of being watched. However, when he looked up, he saw nothing—just the Star River Drift.
That feeling was unsettling, as if something disgusting were lurking in the shadows watching him. Yet, with his keen perception, he found nothing amiss.
After this thought crossed his mind, Yang Xiaoyou politely greeted Nobunaga Hideyoshi, who seemed unaware of anything unusual, before heading over to Qi Menglu and the others.
"What’s up? He’s your lifesaver; you should introduce him more," Qi Menglu said as she gestured with a hairpin in her hand, clearly displeased when she noticed Yang Xiaoyou approaching.
The hairpin waved in front of Yang Xiaoyou's eyes almost suggestively, as if hinting at something.
However, distracted as he was, Yang Xiaoyou clearly didn’t notice the hairpin swaying right under his nose. Instead, he quietly asked Feng Lin beside him, "Did you notice anything just now?"
After hearing Yang Xiaoyou's question, Feng Lin nodded and replied, "There was something strange." However, she couldn’t specify what it was; it seemed even she had only caught a glimpse of a fleeting shadow.
Receiving such a response from Feng Lin left Yang Xiaoyou feeling conflicted. The recent disturbances in the city had been too significant; could they have attracted new attention?
Among the recent major incidents, he was responsible for the assassination of the Minister of National Defense and State Affairs—this could be ruled out. On another note, there were ongoing tensions between organizations and the Common Unity Party while government aspects also seemed unsettled.
But who would pay attention to him? Given his usual conduct, they shouldn’t be sending someone specifically to keep an eye on him.
"Still not giving up on the Radicals? Tsk," Yang Xiaoyou mused absentmindedly while resting his chin on his hand.
Just then, he felt a sharp knock on his head.
"Hmph! Coming over to bother Feng Lin again? I’ll flatten you!" Qi Menglu exclaimed as she playfully swung her fist at him, clearly annoyed.
Yang Xiaoyou was puzzled, unsure of what had upset this lady. With a heavy heart, he made his way over to Nobunaga Hideyoshi.
Meanwhile, Qi Menglu, who remained behind, felt her anger intensify as she watched Yang Xiaoyou leave, as if she were on fire.
"Oh dear, oh dear, I can't believe I encountered you today after hearing crows cawing when I left the house. What a narrow path for enemies to cross!" As Yang Xiaoyou approached Nobunaga Hideyoshi and began to explain some customs of the Chinese Empire, a voice filled with both anger and a hint of amusement rang out from behind him.
Turning around, Yang Xiaoyou spotted Chen Kai, the person he had previously dismissed from the Common Unity Party, who had since teamed up with Sun Jun. It seemed that Chen's father held a significant position as a customs director.
It was easy to understand why Chen was angry; however, his amusement likely stemmed from the group of somewhat unruly fellows laughing and joking beside him.
Among those ruffians, one stood out in Yang Xiaoyou's memory. He recalled the time he had been cornered at the school gate by this particular troublemaker and another who had an exceptional memory. They had taken him to Yongxing Society, but during the second attempt to capture him, this one hadn’t participated in that operation, which was why he was still lively and present now.
Yongxing Entertainment City had indeed been shut down. Due to its serious implications, the main members were certainly undergoing questioning and restrictions on their freedom. However, for ordinary thugs who weren't even official members, the police lacked the resources to control them all.
In the absence of their Boss, it seemed they were still living quite comfortably.
