In the cold night wind of Nook Town, five figures dressed in identical uniforms and cloaked in the same warm capes bounced swiftly between buildings and along the ground, moving rapidly toward their designated target.
"The Third Team has already met up with Soft Nail. Although Soft Nail has been extracted by the enemy, their defensive forces have been severely weakened. This is the perfect opportunity; we must intercept the target before they react," the team leader communicated through an internal channel as they advanced at high speed.
The elite team was divided into three squads, with him and two deputy leaders each leading a team. The other four members of each squad were all powerful individuals at the Momentum Level!
This was a mobilization of the core elite forces from the Dark Organization—the true essence of their strength!
The goal was to eliminate the opponent with overwhelming force, achieving their objective flawlessly!
So far, everything had progressed extremely smoothly.
The enemy had taken sufficient precautions, dispatching a Momentum Level powerhouse along with two assistants who were on the brink of that level. However, due to their arrangements, one of their own had turned traitor, allowing them to easily and decisively take down the most troublesome presence.
To prevent any notifications or rescue attempts, the Third Team had firmly attached themselves to the enemy's rear. They should soon receive news of a successful kill.
Confirming the target's location had also gone surprisingly well.
After discovering a companion who was close to the target in a hospital, they initially thought that this person’s righteous and spirited words would be difficult to extract useful information from. The stubborn individual led them to resort to using the Third Degree Interrogation Drug.
What they hadn’t anticipated was that they believed it would take time for the drug to work; however, before even injecting it, just inserting the needle slightly deeper caused that worthless individual to spill everything.
It truly felt like a waste of a precious opened vial of medication.
It was ironic considering that just moments ago, this person had boasted about their mental fortitude and unwavering spirit.
In a cozy hotel room illuminated by orange light, a Beautiful Female Guide was engrossed in reading an old book, seemingly trying to make good use of her time for learning.
Just as she turned another page, the door was suddenly kicked open with a loud bang, startling her out of her concentration.
"I thought my guest had just been discharged," she mused, expecting it to be someone she was waiting for. But when she looked up and saw unfamiliar figures streaming into the room, she froze momentarily before instinctively wanting to scream.
However, before any sound could escape her lips, a hand clamped over her mouth.
"Shut up! Where is he?" The leader of the Dark Organization glared at her through bloodshot eyes behind his goggles, his voice chillingly cold.
How could there only be this tour guide here while the target has vanished without a trace?
Any normal person would find it unbearable to have a cold gun barrel pressed against their mouth, yet this Tour Guide only held out for a moment. After receiving a harsh slap, he obediently revealed the truth.
At that moment, the group of tourists had already begun their journey under the guidance of another Male Tour Guide, as requested by the handsome boy.
Considering that Li Zheng had just been discharged from the hospital, the tour guide was reluctant to let him take any risks. Even his two companions agreed with this arrangement, which is why one guide was left behind to inform him.
Upon hearing this, the team leader furiously struck the guide in front of him with a knife-hand blow, knocking him unconscious. He then notified Team Two to send someone over to take the captives away and assigned another person to guard both prisoners together.
Whether it was the useless one from the hospital or the tour guide before him, in the eyes of the Dark Organization leader, they were both already dead. Once their usefulness had been drained, they would be silenced. However, since the mission had not yet been completed and the target had not been found, he feared they might still have some value, so their lives were spared for now.
In a basement of a house, Hades gritted his teeth and pulled tightly on his blood-stopping bandage, his breathing becoming increasingly rapid.
With such severe wounds, medical bandages could only slightly slow down the deterioration; without further measures, his injuries would continue to worsen.
Moreover, after intense movement following his injury, the deep laceration on his back even affected his lungs, making matters worse in this Cold Air.
Thinking back to a few moves made by one of his pursuers during their encounter, a heavier weight settled in his heart.
The opponent was also a formidable force!
Perhaps in peak condition he could defeat them in a one-on-one fight, but in his current state, even that single encounter had caused his wound to reopen. It was a desperate fight where both sides risked everything; coupled with ignoring his injury for a brief moment of explosive power allowed him to severely injure that interceptor and escape.
But now his pursuers had only increased! From an initial five people to now Eight People!
How many more times could he push himself?
And as time dragged on, his injuries would only worsen.
Coughing beside him, Qian Kai spat out two mouthfuls of congealed blood. When intercepted by that Momentum Level strongman earlier, it was he who charged forward first. This allowed Hades to seize an opportunity and unleash a thunderous strike that severely injured the opponent.
Although Qian Kai's injuries were not as severe as Hades's, the internal damage he suffered was still quite painful.
"They definitely haven't given up yet. The traps I set can only deceive them temporarily; they'll find this place soon!" As he looked at Qian Kai, Hades seemed to radiate a fierce light from his eyes, staring intently at him.
His companions had been right; he had been too quick to trust the Outsider, which had led to a devastating ambush that caused him significant harm!
However, the gods are fair! While they sent him a traitor who dealt a heavy blow to his side, they also brought forth a true warrior with blood and loyalty right before him.
At such a time, he did not abandon his wounded self to escape alone; instead, he was willing to take the lead and charge forward, earning Hades' respect.
"They may be stronger than me," Hades said, "but they don't have much of an advantage in speed. I'll go out and draw their attention. You find a way to hide. This is a failure of our newly formed Security Department." Upon hearing Hades' words, Qian Kai couldn't help but smile bitterly.
Given the strength that the opponent could unleash despite being severely injured, it was clear that without that ambush, even if they couldn't win, they would have had enough leverage to maneuver and wouldn't be in such a passive position. This was indeed their side's responsibility. It seemed that spending heavily to form a high-quality security force had significant flaws and could not compare to the Red Dragon they had previously belonged to.
"No! It's precisely because they don't have much of an advantage in speed that I should draw their attention while I can still control my injuries. Leave it to me! You must immediately find the person we need to protect! You must succeed in escorting them away!" Hades looked up at Qian Kai. His previously labored breathing began to stabilize, and his tone grew increasingly firm and powerful. The pallor of his face from excessive blood loss began to show signs of color.
Qian Kai's heart sank as he observed Hades forcing himself to rally despite the impact on his wounds. It seemed he wanted to unleash his strongest fighting power before his injuries worsened. On the surface, he appeared much healthier, but—
"As long as I am alive, I will accomplish the mission. That is my promise!" Qian Kai declared seriously, thumping his chest decisively, refusing to waste any more time on arguments.
He could not let Hades' efforts go in vain!
